Looking for some info about the wait times these days for LT complete rifles.

Tried the phone already...

Im looking for a 18" complete build if i can find it before i go full crazy and start buying parts for a garage build :/

200-600yd shooter. 55gr to 77s all off the shelf ammo. Might see 3-5 3 guns a year (pass on JP)

No suppressed use whatsoever. Would love a all FDE rig but i really do not care.

I have a LaRue Stealth 5.56mm that I pieced together with parts, and it shoots amazing. I was lucky to get all LaRue parts. I also have a 7.62 ordered from LaRue, and I will likely replace the barrel. You can go either way, but if this is your first, I would recommend the full monty.

I waited 11 months for my tOBR 7.62. I waited 2 months for the tOBR 5.56.

The wait right now is totally worth it.

CS is pretty right on. I bought an OBR 7.62 used after the two tOBRs. I called Larue to let them know I owned the rifle now and if there were ever any bulletins or recalls to please send me the information versus the original owner. They did all the transfers and told me that I was covered for any warranty issues go forward. I didn't expect that as a 2nd owner.

Oh and they shoot pretty damn well

There is absolutely nothing significant about LaRue AR's, they don't even have ambi controls!! Or BUIS...

Buy a KAC or save big and do a quality build that will out perform both.

Speaking from some experience with high end lwrc a high quality personal build is a way better route. Even nice mid tier bcm with full ambi lower that I built gets used much more for 1/3 the price. But if you really want it for a it's just cool factor I understand that too.

I have a couple Larue rifles that shoot okay and have no glaring issues but they are no where near as accurate as any of the JP rifles that I have.

JP is good stuff and put them up there, if not ahead of all of the competition. That is if you are going to buy one. Otherwise you can do well by putting one together yourself if your only going to run it 3 times a year..

I'm replying to this thread a year after the last post . . . I know BigJake is not big on Larue (at least from a value perspective), and while I have ordered a Larue, I have not yet "drunk the Kool-aid". Here's what I Know: I know that Larue came through HUGE for a friend of mine who had some "significant" issues with the his 7.62 OBR. I think firearms manufacturers generally handle customer service poorly, but Larue (who never have given me that "warm fuzzy" feeling when I've ordered mounts from them before), came through like I've never seen before.

And here's what I think: I think that the JP Rifles are Fugly. They look like something out of Tron or something - they look imbalanced and weird. Better yet, they look like they've been hacked together with mismatched parts, but in a pussified way. I know they haven't been "hacked together" so please hold your powder, but that's what it looks like.

Don't get me wrong: I LOVE the way that they innovate - but dang . . . that's a face only a mother could love. I don't buy rifles for looks, but man . . . Maybe if you're 50 or older and Tron was a cool thing. While I'm at it. . . the GAP10 is also pretty darn unloveable due to the Seekins handguard - which looks thin and cheap. Contrast the OBR 7.62 handguard, "carved" from billet. That is craftsmanship. I wasn't sold until I saw and shot it in person (and then it was a quick $3370 from my checking account).

I'm a 1/4 minute shooter with my bolt guns on bipods and sandbags (some day, maybe I'll get to the .10s, but probably not because a 1/4 is about all I care about). I figure that the accuracy delta between a JP and a Larue is minimal (based on non-scientific, purely anecdotal evidence - though I have shot a GAP10 and the OBR), and even if a JP or a GAP is .05-.10 of a minute better, I'm willing to trade that for the ridiculously solid construction of the OBR 7.62.

Here's my beef with Larue: Where's the 6.5 Creedmoor barrel option? I know, you can buy an "DIY" Upper, and, yes, I know they offer .260s, but, especially for gas guns, 6.5Creedmoor (PSA, it's not spelled "Creedmore") is the better option. Oh, and their trigger. It has a weird wavelength draw to it. No Bueno. But no one's perfect.

Mark Larue had an interesting post recently saying that in their testing the 260 is more tolerant in a gas gun than the 6.5CM. I’m not saying he is right, or he is wrong, just that he said it. I think that explains why he offers a 260 factory rifle and not a 6.5 CM.
