That’s the going rate at a normal dealer (Rooftop Defense) whereas you’d be adding $500+ to that elsewhere.
Anecdotally, I've run my higher pressure, gemtech GMT-300WM on my 18 inch 308 as well as my 20 inch 6.5cm with no issues.
Give the Lancer l7s a go. I have the same issue with tight fitting PMags, Lancers have been perfect, steel re-enforcement at the top stops them swelling when loaded.
FWIW I’ve found that the rails with the scalloped cutouts like the Seekins are much more comfortable to handle and carry.
The 8" Arca rail from Area 419 fits perfectly on the 12.5 upper but it does not ship with the M-LOK hardware. I used some M-LOK hardware I found sitting around and it worked great.
Finally found time to zero the rifle and test it out a bit, I only had 600 yards available. Leupold MK5 5-25, Spuhr mount, and Atlas PSR bipod. It seemed to like Hornady 168 ELD match and FGMM 175 SMK the best. FGMM 175 center strike was not quite as good as the SMK but pretty close. Im not going to slap the Nomad-L on until the 50/50 mixed gas tube comes in from black river tactical. Any experience with the 50/50 tube and everything else completely stock?

Yep! Matter of fact, I answered you about this April 12th when you asked about 3 different suppressor options. Anyway, I'll say again, I'm running the factory S/A BCG/A5 tube/H3 buffer combo, but with a Sprinco Red spring, PRI Gas Buster charging handle and BRT EZ Tune 50/50 gas tube on a 20" SS barrel.
The only reason that they would recommend that POS is because they have one on the shelf that they are trying to unload.

Don't listen to your local gun shop. I second what Gasgun wrote above because it is 100% true. Ask me how I know. If you want to go down the rabbit hole of adjustable gas blocks or aftermarket gas tubes by all means pick one up.
Just picked up a MWS 16” 308 about a month ago and have been running a Tranquillo. Ejection is 3-4 o’clock and runs smooth.

Should work fine. He did a 16” switchblock 308 for me a while back. AFAIK noveske still uses armalite pattern bolts so you’ll need one of those to get it to headspace right. I’ve used an armalite bolt in LMT carrier(with Noveske barrels) without issue for many rounds.
Thanks for that feedback. The Noveske barrel does come with a headspaced bolt, or right now they are running a bundle promotion where you can get a barrel/headspaced BCG combo. Is there any compatibility issues running a non-LMT BCG in the MWS upper?
Norma 168gr averages about 0.75 MOA in 5 shot groups at 300 yards for me out of an 20" LMT SS barrel. I haven't tried their 175gr in this gun, but in other rifles, my records tend to support better performance from 168gr vs. 175gr out of 1/11.25" twist guns. Out of your gun? You'll have to test!Anyone here run the 175gr Norma ammo through the 20” 308 SS barrel? If so, how’d it do?

I totally agree. Out of my ~8 or so AR-10 types, the M14s, FALs, G3s, SAN 751, it's almost universal. The ones that don't like 168gr like 147gr.
That's been the other surprise for me over the years: none of my semiautomatics like factory 155gr. I've got maybe ~1000 rounds of Hornady Black, Lapua, and GGG 155gr I bought for testing that I don't even waste my time with much anymore.
