It is both sad, and unfortunate that LowLight even has to put out a notice like that which started this thread. With that said, I whole heartedly support LowLight's actions in this regard. Gun people are already fighting an uphill public relations battle with anti-gun groups.
Posting things in this site that play into negative stereo types about shooters hurts us all. It also makes it more difficult to try and convince those who haven't yet decided whether they are pro, or anti firearms, that we aren't the evil idiots that anti-gun groups would make us out to be.

I don’t come here for news or analysis - that’s what newspapers of record are for, or news sources like the Economist, WSJ, NPR, FT or NYT. I come here to learn how to improve in a sport I love and have benefitted greatly from so many of the members experience and knowledge. I too wish there was a way to ‘blacklist’ parts of the site that are just a shit show.

Best I have been able to determine, it is ok to “make fun” of absolutely everything and anything here. And when it is a good joke, a funny meme or guys busting on each other, especially in the areas intended for busting on each other.... no one gets butthurt.
It is the outright vitriol, personal attacks and some of the “not funny” slurs (racial, religious, etc.) that get thrown out like beads at Mardi Gras that are just not welcome. By anyone.
