My CZ 455 Precision Money Pit is almost done...

...damn this project got expensive. Like "nice custom center fire" expensive. The last thing is a nice bolt knob. And a nicer scope.

Here is mine. Stats first, then the pics:

455 Precision Trainer
Lilja .920 straight taper, cut to 17.5" and threaded for my Sparrow
Timney trigger
DIP bottom metal
DIP 25 moa pic rail
Harris 6-9 with KMW pod lock
TAB sling
Bolt cocking geometry modified by jbell (MUCH smoother cycling now)
Action and bottom metal bedded by Jbell
Silencerco Sparrow
SS 12x42 mil/mil
Action and BM coated in Coyote Tan
Stock painted "desert multicam"

And on really good days when it all comes together, it shoots like this 5 shot group at 50;

Nice stick brother. I am going to switch stocks on my 452 varmint it currently has a Boyd thumb hole stock that has been bedded and shoots nicely, but I love the tactical look

I'm curious & maybe you can help me out. What's the point of switching to dip bottom metal? I've heard the magazine wells are cheap plastic and break so I ordered one of those. Is this the same case with the factory BM? I've yet to get my 455 "pt" so I wouldn't know.

The bottom metal from the factory is two pieces of bent sheet metal. It looks and feels like shit, though functionally I highly doubt it makes a difference. I bought the DIP as a luxury.

I should get the mag well too, though the plastic has not been an issue yet.

No, I dont think you'll be disappointed if you put some inch lbs on the action screws. My stock Savage metal has an indent from hand-tightening the screws. Looks and feels like shit and functions like shit too.

I've got a stock 453 varmiter but I put a cheap BSA scope on it but I doubt that it will do that well on my best day. Nice stick! I put a SWR Spectre on it and really love the can. I can shoot all day and not bother the neighbors.

Also there is no ringing when the firing pin falls with the DIP.

Not sure yet, have a lot of irons in the fire right now. Ideally a Schmidt & Bender as that is what my center fire rifles run, but there have been lots of good deals on used Hensoldts lately, and I do like the ones I have had quite well.

Truth be told, the Super Sniper gets the job done, the mil quad reticle is nice and matching turrets make it applicable. It's just the glass that leaves something to be desired, and only because I am used to shooting with much higher end.

I should have gone this way myself but I am now a slave of Volquartsen's waiting times which went from 3 months...to 6....to we don't know...to maybe this month. That would make it an even year. Oh well. Again, great job.

Yes the barrel is completely floated with the action and bottom metal pillar bedded. That group was shot with Lapua Center X. That was obviously an exceptional group but the rifle will consistently print .2's and .3's at 50 yards with that ammo.
