This is Mason from CS Tactical and this is my new account and 1st post with it. I wanted to announce that I will not be renewing my Marketing/Communications contract with CS Tactical . My company, Mason Media, has been contracted out to CS Tactical for a little over two years to assist in various internet mechanisms to raise awareness of the CS Tactical brand and their product line.
Before I came on board with CS Tactical, I was actually pastoring at a local church for 5 years in Elk Grove, CA where I met CST owner, Mike Cecil. After looking to take a break from my “church duties” (Nacho Libre reference) and just be a normal church attender, I offered Mike and CST my services. Our strategy was to raise brand awareness by taking Mike’s extensive knowledge and experience with Long Range Shooting/Optics and translate it into online resources that would be accessible to the shooting community. We also wanted to raise brand awareness by taking the products that you were interested in and do everything we can (short of putting it in your hands) to help you become familiar with it. I know that despite my departure, this is something Mike is committed to continue with for the shooting community.
I have recently been offered an Associate Pastor position and have decided that it’s time for me to jump back into to helping and serving folks as a Pastor again. This decision was difficult because of the level of enthusiasm I currently have in my partnership with CS Tactical. We have seen a tremendous amount of growth over the last two years and I was looking forward to more. Honestly, this past two years has been an introduction to the firearms industry for me and it has been a very eye-opening experience. The passion, discipline, and patriotism I’ve encountered has been inspiring, interesting, and a lot of fun to say the least. I’m definitely hooked for life and look forward to continue to hang with the NorCal crew at Sac Valley on the weekends.
I have thoroughly enjoyed interacting with all of our customers in the shop and over the phone, as well as everyone on the forums. I am thankful for the new friendships I have made and am not looking to sever any of those relationships as a result of this transition. I am proud of the work that’s been done to represent our manufacturer’s products and brands and am thankful for their support as well.
I am very thankful to Mike for this opportunity to represent CS Tactical as well. It’s easy to market for a person who is truly an expert/authority in their field. I can’t wait to get my Spartan .260 finished to hit the range on Fridays and Saturdays (Sundays aren’t available so much for Pastors unfortunately). Now, if I can only find a good dealer to purchase an optic for it??? J/k of course…
For those looking for some juicy drama or bitter story as to the reason for my departure I am sorry to disappoint. If I actually had one, I can promise you it wouldn’t end up in a forum post anyway. Fact is, an opportunity presented itself and it seemed like the present path I should be on for right now. Hopefully this post will save Mike some time from a couple emails/phone calls of questions or rumors. My last official day under contract will be tomorrow, July 28th. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
