For those of you (like me) that are just now trying to make a serious start in the precision rifle game and / or have seen the decimal point in your bank account shifting to the left with alarming speed since getting in, I found an app that provides a lot of useful weather data for less than $1.

Nav Clock (https://www.splitrailsoft.com/nav-clock-weather-aviation-navigation-app-iphone-ipad.html) provides all of the info shown below based upon the nearest weather station. Not as pinpoint accurate as a Kestrel, but still reasonable numbers to plug into a ballistics app if you’re otherwise doing without.

I’ve got the Hornady 4DOF app. Still learning it, but unless you link with a weather data device, you have to enter the environmental data yourself (from what I’ve seen so far). Not at all suggesting Nav Cloud is an ideal app, and it sounds like Ballistics Arc may be a more capable solution, but thought this one might be handy if you needed input data and didn’t have access to better numbers.

The problem as already stated is that if someone has their calculator set to absolute pressure and they enter that corrected number then their dope will be way off out past 500 yards. I use a simpler method for pressure correction if I for some reason don't a pressure measurement. I just reference this chart for my altitude and go from there. Altitude is the biggest factor in barometric pressure and I have found this chart to be pretty dang close from 1000 ft to 4500 ft. The chart has its limitations of course, but if you have no other reference it is better than a guess.
