New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

I have a zeiss 6-36 on mine...haha. I like magnification. Mine is not a hunting rifle and I rarely shoot less than 300yds and hope to reach it out to 1k when I get a chance.

It does look pretty big on there, but I dig it...lol

To each his own. I hunt in extremely shaded, tight cedar lined senderas where light fades quickly in the golden hour. I need a larger objective in order to get more light, no LPVO will offer that with their tiny 24-30mm objectives. I don't use my 6 ARC as an up close run and gun blaster while on the move, it's shot from a fixed position on medium game out to 300-ish yards in typically low light conditions. A larger objective and more top end fit the bill for my needs and other than the optic being slightly longer than the Razor 1-10x it's replacing, the weights are within a few ounces of one another. And I have zero use for a large frame these days so that's a moot point.
Definitely playing to the strengths of those optics then! I run a thermal clip on most of the time on mine so the extra FOV is welcome at night and I'm not shooting much past 600y during the day so 10x is plenty for me. Enjoy the 14.5"!!

Please let us know how you like that Seekins DMR in 6mm ARC! I've been eying one because it's literally HALF the price of a Geissele.
Shot it this afternoon with factory 108g ELDM ammo and after doing some velocity truing, was consistently hitting smallish targets out to 900yds. I did change the gas block to a Riflespeed so I can run a can or not.

Just picked up a 14.5 Noveske in 6 ARC. Intended purpose is 500-1000 yards plinking and deer, bobcat, and coyote hunting 100-300 yards. Given the two different use cases I am struggling to pick an optic. I have been running the Leupold 3.6-18 on my .308 and love it so I could always go back to that but the 5-25 Eotech and 2.5-20 NF NX8 are looking well priced and solid especially for the price with illumination. Any input or ideas on those would be appreciated.

I started with an 18" outfitted with a NF ATACR 4-16x42 and then I dropped down to a 14.5" with Razor 1-10x. That served me well for a season but I need more light gathering capability in the low light conditions I often hunt in so I just switched over to a Mk5 HD 3.6-18x. I haven't stretched it's legs out beyond 700 yet but I plan to take it to 1000 next range session. So far I am very pleased and it was certainly the right move for my intended use. I can tell you that the NX8 doesn't compare in any way to the Leupy.

Thanks. That is my issue or concern with the NX8. I think it looks good at high magnification but all the reviews say the 2.5 is not great which defeats the point in getting it. I'm leaning towards another MK5 or the Eotech 5-25 with a red dot.

It's not a terrible optic, I have decided to throw one on a currently opticless 556 build. But to me it suffered at both ends, it's more like a 5-18x. Glass quality isn't up to par with the Leupy either IMHO. I've never been all that impressed with Eotech scopes so I can't be of much use there.

Had the NX8 2.5-20 and Leupold 3.6-18 for a while and I sold the NX8 because the turrets didn't lock and the parallax was noticeably more sensitive on the NX8. I preferred the NX8 for night time use behind a clip on, but the daytime sacrifices weren't worth it to me.

To keep things in perspective, I was not at all disappointed with the NX8 and could have been very effective with it but since one had to go I sold the NX8
