Rifle Scopes New March 1x-8x24mm FFP Scope

I would like to thank Big Jim Fisher for doing the review on the new March 1x8x24mm FFP scope. I would like to point out a few things that Jim brought up. The illumination switch does have auto shut off, it will shut off after one hour. There are four settings in the current illumination switch. Deon is currently working on a new illumination switch to be more shooter friendly with a setting for illumination setting and a on/off switch, so you do not have to click illumination switch more than once to get to your setting. For night vision or night shooting Deon makes a low illumination switch that has four settings for night time and night vision applications.

I was very glad to see Jim brought up that the 1x-8x is more of a long range version than a close quarter scope. That is what we intended the scope to be. As I understand tactical shooting that the long range shots are where a lot of tactical matches are won and lost. This is why this scope was introduced. The 1x is a true 1x, not 1.1 or 1.2 like a lot of 1x scopes are.
This scope was built for the long range tactical shooters that need both close quarter shots and long range shots. No need to be hindered anymore at either end of your tactical competitions.
There is a new FMC-2 reticle just coming out that is much better than the FMC-1 and you can see it at marchscopes.com
Staring first of 2014 all tactical scopes will come with flip caps, as standard lens cover.

Hi Jim, Received the 5-40 yesterday and had a chance to go zero this morning. Though BigJim had a peeve with the illumination and it was for the 1-8 model it might be preferential since I had no issues with it at all, as a matter of fact I loved it. Glass quality was outstanding with an amazing brightness.....very bright and very clear. Simple, is another aspect of this scope from that fine floating dot to the flat, extremely crisp and clear numbered turrets. Like with other scopes my fear was the eye relief which was immediately subsided by the noticeable amount of clearance my face had from the eyepiece. I had also read about another peeve BigJim had about 1-8 claiming it had an american style diopter which again I believed to be preferential since I found it more comfortable to control with a range large enough to accommodate a variety of flawed, aging eyes. Communicating with you for several days also reassured me of the excellent service I would receive if anything ever did go wrong. Again, Thank you for your time, patience and friendly demeanor and look forward to thank you in person at Shot 2014.

I absolutely love my March F 3-24X and March FX 5-40X, both with FML-1 reticles, I purchased from you last year. They have been spot on and very rugged with no issues. The 5-40X adorns my MRAD 338 LM and has tolerated over 1500 rounds without an issue. I can't speak on illumination, since both my scopes are nonilluminated. I have been spreading their praise on this website and Barrett's for almost a year and feel they are starting to become noticed and more mainstream. Thanks for the great products. I'm waiting for the March rangefinder to come out in mil, instead of the present MOA, and I'll be all over it! Good luck and thanks for the great service and help I received from your Company.

I too love my 3-24X. I think it's the perfect scope for my MWS. Question, will the flip up caps be available for purchase by current owners?

On the flip caps yes we will have them for sale separately. Should have them sometime in January and price will be around 30.00 - 40.00

This month if you buy a March you get 300.00 Kelbly credit towards Kelbly products and items from Kelbly store. Can be used same day for anything Kelbly sells.

I have searched in vain for any reference to a March rangefinder on the net. Certainly there's nothing about it on the Kelbly's site. So what March rangefinder are you referring to? Any link would be welcome.

No true range finder in works for Deon. What the gentleman was referring to was the hash mark spacing on reticle to be made in mil rad instead of MOA.

I realize now it's NOT made by March, but by Gunwerks LLC and they are supposedly working on a mil version. Still seems better than Barrett's BORS, since it can be used with any rifle, but limited to 1400 yard ranging solutions and 2000 meter maximum ranging.

Thanks Jim. I thought all of the March tactical scopes were offered in MRad reticle versions to match their Mil turrets. That's what my F 3-24x42 (FML) does, which is my favorite scope by far. So glad to see that you will be carrying March flip-up covers at the first of the year.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought I must have been missing out on what otherwise may have been a super range finder, if made by Deon. You'll find a great review thread of the G7 Br2 on Long Range Hunting Online Magazine. My primary issues with the Br2 have been its MOA only offering and it's relatively large beam divergence; weight and bulk is secondary. I keep getting my hopes up that somebody will come out with an LRF with the beam divergence of the Terrapin, ballistics program of the Br2, 7x magnification, and angle correction in mil. I will likely be waiting a long time for that.

Thanks for the "heads up"! I had been searching for reviews. Until Bryan Litz gets together with Terrapin and produces a mil based rangefinder (which would be sold out for years in advance), I'll just chrono the 4 barrel calibers on my 2 DTA's and the 338 LM on my MRAD and order the Custom Mildot Master from Accuracy 1st or Mr. Litz! Problem solved!
