Just had my New Scar 17 SBR and New IOR Valdada 1-10x26 scope finished in a Midnight Urban digicam. It was performed by Jerry at Shark bite Custom in Ft. Lauderdale. I could not be more satisfied with his work and he has mastered his craft of dipping! He then put a matte clear coat over it and its finished! The detail and precision of this mans work is amazing! Ive had a few buddies who sent their stuff out to other companies and it came back sub-par at best. The works detail is in the proof! btw, this scope is unbelievable. If you have a chance to look down one, ever, you will want one. Just waiting on my AAC snd-6 can and then on to my next project! Let me know what you think!

Very nice setup! How do you like the New IOR 1-10? That dipping sure looks nice. Have you replaced the trigger yet or does the 17 have a better trigger than the 16?

Thanks!
I cant explain in words this scope...its undeniably the best full variable power scope I own, and I own S&B, Nightforce, and U.S Optics. The Glass is as crystal as it gets and I can co-witness my iron sights at 1x with no "fish eye". Dont buy into the claims of its weight for its perfectly balanced. The trigger is currently stock but I'd throw in a Gisselle trigger if I could find one! Ive heard some people have had some issues with the trigger on the 17 but IMO it pulls smoother than my 16 no question. Either way, I want to upgrade it though for I have upgraded all my weapons trigger systems.

As far as the dipping, the precision of of the dip is mind blowing. The owner showed me the process and a lot of time goes into perfecting this. You can check out some of his work if you would like.

There's been some discussion about this IOR scope and whether its illuminated dual reticle dot in the SFP is Aimpoint bright. How bright is the red dot on x1 power, is it as bright as an Aimpoint and usable for CQB?

Its dead on accurate and the craftsmanship is great. I didn't understand others complaints with them for he was very professional, work is spot on, and it only took 4 weeks door to door.

The red dot can be seen during broad daylight but it is very tiny at 1x. It is visible but VERY faint. about the size of a small pencil dot. If there is cloud cover or at dusk, its easily noticeable but still very small. The best part is you can illuminate the reticles Green and turn up the brightness where you can just "paint" your target at 1x and it actually becomes identical to an Eotech sized reticle. I can also co-witness it with my iron sites no problem with both eyes open. I see absolutely no issue with it at 1x like some may claim. sure, its not Aimpoint size but with the illuminated Cross-hairs, its just as easy IMO to paint a target at 1x as an aimpoint and I own Aimpoint m4s on 3 of my SBR's. Just an overall amazing product they designed.

The Green turned all the way to the max is visible but not bright green, that with the red dot on it is visible but when you turn it all the way to 1x, the entire reticle cross-hairs is the same size as an Eotech. Its still not even close as bright as an Eotech tho.

I heard IOR are working on the illumination to get it to Eotech/Aimpoint bright, which is crucial when set on x1 power for CQB work. Nice looking rig.

Plus the entire process is very quick and it holds up to extreme heat. It will start to peel on a suppressor that is fired from .223 up because of the extreme heat, but otherwise it can withstand very high temps and is tough as nails.

As for the Dolphins, Ive played a little ball in my day

Re: New Scar 17 sbr w/ New IOR Valdada 1-10x26 custom

I did a video on hydro-coating on a suppressor and it burned the coating, but it took about 70 rounds as fast as I could shoot to ruin it. It is pretty cool stuff and also is durable. I own an ACR that I had coated in ATACS and I beat the crap out of that gun. NO SCRATCHES in the coating yet... By the way I love your finish!

Expensive to have them do a Hydro Finish? I may have to look into it for some of my firearms. I don't live very far from them.

A complete Rifle AR platform or Bolt gun is $400 (that's every square inch if you desire) including bipod/monopod, and 1 magazine.

Scope- any size - $150

Aimpoint/Eotech - $75

Complete Handgun $250

These all include a full Striping of the rifle/handgun (if you desire, or you can strip it) full thorough cleaning to prep surface, Base coat (any color you would like, this goes under the hydrofinish so any pattern you like, you can change any color of it you can imagine.), the hydro-finish, matte clear coat, and reassembly.
