Aw shit.. I’m assuming it’s not available in RAL8000 as well? No wonder I don’t see it in EO. Only RAL8000 is with DT27.
6-36x DT II+ TR2ID arrived yesterday, mounted and ready to zero now. Plan to zero and stretch it out this afternoon on a 300NM. 5-25x DT H2CMR it is replacing in foreground.
Well...that was a disaster. At the range, the parallax was stiff as hell and the focus was inconsistent. Once I got it focused, every single shot would cause the image to go blurry and I'd have to re-focus. Turning the parallax knob back and forth on the target at 100 yds, the ideal focus would be at ever-different points on the dial. I decided I had too much torque on the rings, causing the parallax to be in a bind. I had torqued the Spuhr rings to 25 in lbs as I always have on my other three SB 5-25s, also mounted in Spuhrs. Yes, I used Loctite and I know that increases the actual torque value, but it has never caused a problem before for me. Back home, I loosened the ring screws and experimented with different torque values on the screws. Even at barely-snug the parallax knob is still stiff and the new design has fairly sharp edges causing it to bite into your fingertips as you try and turn it. The Loctite is now dry, but I found any torque above 10 in lbs caused the parallax to drag, so that ideal focus came at different points on the dial as I went back and forth rotating it. The force required to rotate the parallax knob is also WAY higher than the three SB 5-25s and the NF 7-35 ATACR I currently have. Something is just not right here.
The newer LPI models have a much stiffer parallax adjustment than the older models, I guess this is by design.
As far as the image coming out of focus, I have 2 6-36 mounted and used a bit, I have not experienced it yet. But @wooferocau have posted about his similar issues in another thread.
Edit: Both scopes on 6.5, not alot of recoil.

Scope will have to go back....... Is not anything you are doing...there is an issue .....Contact S&B they will assist.

I deleted some of the posts i made.
I have had issues with several 6-36,s and just recently 2 10-60,s . S&B Germany have been fantastic in support and identified the cause... i jumped the gun a bit on posting here as they were investigating and confirming the issue.
As i understand it , this only effects a few samples.
What you describe is the exact thing that 2 of my 6-36,s suffered and 2 10-60,s.
After every shot focus will be out. Focus / parallax also feeling vague and varying....like having excess backlash.
I know the cause, but will refrain from posting it until i get permission.....BUT...just contact S&B and they will respond to this promptly..
This is a shame.. Where is the NF quality control sticker?

My new go to for testing a "New" optic is.... Mount to Desert Tech HTI 50bmg....if it behaves ... All is Good!! 
NF seems to be the but of the joke around here...BUT by Christ i have yet to see one that has failed...My old NSX, and ATACR,s have been the most dependable optics i have ever used !! The round count when using them over the years is scary ..This is a shame.. Where is the NF quality control sticker?
My "Test" ...or control scope is actually one of the very early NF NSX 5.5 -25,s ...i would trust it mechanically over anything i have , or have used..
I called EO this AM. They do not have another one in stock, as this was one of the first to arrive and they were all pre-ordered. They have emailed SB for me, and I haven't heard back. I called SB myself and got Jerry's voicemail both times. I expect he was probably out of the office today.
I have two ATACRs, a 4-20 and a 7-35. I haven't used the 4-20 a lot, but the 7-35 has about 1000 rounds atop both a 300NM and (mostly) a 300PRC. I haven't had a single issue with either scope. I do PREFER my PM IIs, but I have complete faith in the ATACRs. Yes I know of people who have had issues with them, too - as well as every other top-tier brand. It happens.

NF and Hens are the only scope I have 100% confidence in now,, that would survive a tumble w a 18-24lb rifle. All these tier one scopes w thin tubes are having issues in mounts.
Funny you mention that !!! NEVER in my life have i had scope tube damage. When i unmounted one of the 6-36,s i was shocked to see this..( see pic)
Mount rings were only done up to 15 inch pounds and it has still left a detectable impression!!!! My theory ( not fact) is the NEW series have thinner tubes!!! which if it is the case i am not at all impressed..

I love clear German glass.. have been using it since the late 90s on hunting rifles. I have wrecked a couple lightweight hunting scopes while mountain hunting. It sucks but thank god it was only $400-$500 going in the can at the time., I think I read somewhere that S$B can replace a tube if it’s damaged.
Guess they are not really pmii grade scopes... Probably should be put in the comp line then if they are that weak along with the mtt turrets

I assume you were using a known good mount that didn’t mess up other scopes.
If that’s a dent and with a known good mount, then…sadness.

I have sellers remorse on my old 5-25 msr. I thought it was odd that the 5-25 has a higher selling price on EO than the 6-36 does now. Guess the 6-36 really isn’t a mil spec scope!!
That's a mount issue more likely than a scope issue. The type of a mark you are seeing has nothing to do with scope tube wall thickness. You weren't using a Spuhr mount were you?
I have seen more issues with Spuhr than with all other high end mounts added together. If the tolerances stack up a little, Spuhr is usually the failure point owing to those conical head screws.
