You guys know we love and appreciate doing business with you and hanging out on this forum. We've always done our best to take care of you guys 24/7/365.

However, unfortunately, there are a very few of you who still do not grasp the meaning of discretion and good manners. You feel the need to copy/paste/send email and PM strings to other dealers in an effort to save a couple more dollars on your purchase. This is causing me a great deal of distress. So, from this point on, any requests for price matching or quoting "best price" on the Viper PST scopes will be politely denied. Frankly, I have enough backorders on these things to keep me busy for months, so I do not need the hassle. If you wish to do business with us, then order online and we will contact you when your scope arrives. If you can find the scope you need from another dealer then by all means do so. The supply of these scopes has been, and will continue to be, limited and these have been easily selling at MAP.

To those who are currently waiting to get your scopes from us, we appreciate you choosing to do business with us, and we will honor any discount we may have offered you. Those of you are are just getting into the market, LO offers these scopes to you at MAP pricing, plus a hefty wait until fulfillment, esp. on the FFP mil/mil models

It's unfortunate and I'm sure a hassle, but don't blame the customers for trying to get a good deal, it's the nature of the system that scope companies force on the consumer and dealers.

When you have dealers on the hide saying "Hey I can't tell you what I'll sell it to ya due to MAP for but contact me and I'll meet or beat anyone's price" customers are going to call around and tell other dealers what they can get it for in order to try and get a better price. Then when dealers go whining to the manufacturer about it these things will happen.

That said with the massive wait for the PST to release and the huge demand for some sub $1000 nice FFP options I'm sure they will have no problems selling them for MAP. I'd bet a lot of dealers on here are like Scott and have enough backorders already to last through the year.

I think this is the thing I like about Scott the most. He doesn't go out of his way to whore it up in every thread that has a scope in it. If I see another CSTactical video in somebody else's thread, I'm going to scream!

I buy from him because I know I will get the straight scoop (whether I like it or not.

) Most salespeople are like politicians, you can tell they're lying because their lips are moving. Not Scott. If he doesn't have the right product for you, he'll be the first to tell you. I appreciate that. I also know that if ANYTHING goes wrong, he'll do what ever it takes to fix it.

I think Scott is spot on in his reasoning and disappointment in the behavior of some of those posing as customers, who are not, and will never be customers.

In my experience, there's a point where less money means "no after purchase service" and I don't want to go there.

I've switched my recent business to Scott because he's responsive and likable and has good prices. I'm all about service and personal dedication to the shooters.

Scott, I Don't blame you one bit. I don't know if you remember when I did my order in December for christmas. I made a statment to you and it is something I live by:

Everyone believes that they are worth a million, but no one believes the other guy is.

People are so F-ing stupid. I do a little business on the side in the evenings. my boss knows (maybe not the extent though) as I don't compete directly with my main employer all is good as long as the two don't get crossed. Once in awhile one of my customers calls me at work or comes and sees me at work. They are instantly cut off and become my bosses cutomer (he knows this also). They can now pay full retail I don't give a shit. My boss can deal with the dumbasses I don't have time.

Best part is when they call later and I tell them to get lost. They act all butt-hurt and say "what did I do". Stupid is as stupid does.

I used to work in retail (thankfully no more) and I would have folks come in and say "I can get that for $1 less if I drive across town". I would say yes, you can, but I will gladly refund your money if it doesn't work and save you 2 hours of driving time. They would storm out. Always glad they did.

Hey Scott, sorry to hear about those "few". I am self employed (I build Hot Rods) and the stories I could share would fill a few books. Some people JUST DON'T GET IT.

Anyways, hey lsten, I sent you an email, and I know you guys are busy, but when you get a chance just send me your reply. Basically, in my email, I was asking you what we could do for my AR I just bought (it's still 3-4 weeks out, so we have time to decide on what direction I wanna go with).
But, also, as in my email, I AM BUYING FROM YOU AND HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT CONTACT ANY OTHER DEALER AS YOU ARE THE MAN!

Im not looking for any deals, as you have to feed your kids same as I do.


And for those of you that have not bought from, or dealt with Scott before, that are just reading this thread, TRUST ME, Scott is the real deal. Knows how to take care of a customer.
I bought my Vortex from him last year for my 700, and he nailed it. Couldn't be ANY happier with my setup.

I was guilty of a price match of sorts on a PST with Scott back in November, but I had an order in with OP, even though I like them Id rather give my business to supporting vendors here. You cant blame a guy for trying to save a little money, but I would never call back and forth trying to negotiate between several sponsors here. So I hope you didn't go below what you normally would've for me Scott. I know my next optics orders will be with you from now on.

Exactly.

There are posters on this forum whose positive character is evident by how they handle themselves with others. I enjoy debating topics of like interest with them.

Dealers are no different. I don't have to know what goes on behind the scenes to know who the dealers are that I will deal with and the ones I won't. The way they handle themselves on a day to day basis in threads speaks volumes about their character.

Somewhat ironic but my twin brother lives in Kalispell and runs a commericial reefer/resturant sales service business with a couple other partners. Dealing with the "I want it cheaper" mentality everyday his favorite comment is..

What might be more interesting, is it really general customers or is it other dealers calling/emailing dealers posing a customers to try and see what everyone is "really" selling stuff for and then going to the manufacturer to complain.

Even without the 'Hide discount I'm still going to buy from Scott when the PST's are tested a bit more and more readily available. Having dealt with some other companies and not getting good customer service I firmly believe that dealers that stand behind the products they sell are worth spending with.

Wow, this is just amazing, but unfortunately way too typical these days. A legit business owner trying to earn a living offers his product discounted and the potential customer has such little appreciation for the offer that they go somewhere else to get another quote. And to do it through an email where it can become public domain. What a complete lack of professionalism and discretion.

Scott, as a fellow small business owner, I completely understand your position. It has been my experience that people that act like this don't make good customers anyway. They don't appreciate what you try to do for them and don't give you repeat business or referrals. In fact they often end up being more of a headache than an asset to your business. It appears that you know how to run a business as you have a sizeable following on here. Keep up the good work.

You can say that again. There are 2 dealers here I do all my business with and they both speak well of the other.

I dont shop price anymore, because I know them both. Service is where it is at. I will PAY MORE to deal with them even though the opposite has always been the case. I hope they raise their fucking prices to prevent idiots from slowing the rest of us down.

I just ordered my first scope from Scott the other day due the positive statements made on this site. He went above and beyond what was required to make the sale. I missed him the first time I called and didn't leave a message since I planned on calling him back the next day and the next day he returned my call. All I will say is it won't be my last purchase through him.

This would be the law of "Supply and Demand". People have been placing orders since the first time they were introduced (a little over a year ago???). Vortex is trying to make the best possible scope in this price range, and as such is taking a bit more time to make sure it is dead-nutz on and does exactly what they say it will.

That said, they can only put out so many scopes while still keeping their other product lines stocked. Just need to wait a bit for the back orders to be filled, then they will be more readily available.
