Official Accuracy International AT First Look

If you look at the bottom of the photo there are a number of AX rifles without barrels. I think around 10 x AXMC300 and 5 x AXMC338 Those will be shipping out of the UK next week. We are just waiting for an export license on the AT's.
If you go to this link and watch the second video you will have a better view of the AT and AXMC rifles shown in the photo I posted last night

I am ordering a 1:10 barrel for the AT rifle. I would like to use the original muzzle brake the rifle comes with on this new barrel. Can anyone provide me with the specs for the brake? Is it treaded or clamped and for what diameter/tread should I have the new barrel finished?

Much appreciated.

I too have an AT on order. Very interested in a low rail or spuhr mount option. I ordered a standard spuhr 0cant. After about 20 years in the LE sniper business I decided to go all out with this AI. This was a big purchase and I can't say enough positive things about Milehigh, Diann, and everyone I've dealt with there. They have been great....

Thanks for the info Tom!

No AX308's???

Anyone know if the AT uses AX or AW mags? All I saw was "double stacked 10 rd AI magazine", and I'm not familiar enough with AI (outside of the ubiquitous AICS double stack, single feed) magazines to know intuitively.

TIA

But if you want a different rail, when you get your AT contact Cameron @ Murphy's Precision they will do rails and have done AE rails for me in the past to replace the odd slot rail that was offered on the AE. Murphy's is your best bet.

Spuhr has also said they will be releasing a lower rail mount once they are able to get it spec'd out. I talked to Mr. Spuhr about it briefly and he said he was excited to get one made up but Is just waiting to get an actual mount from AI.

Any idea on price of base and the cant on it? I'm trying to decide if I should buy a set of low nf or seekins rings and run em on the factory mount or invest in a spuhr mount and base...? I don't plan on running NV anytime soon so I just wanna get my scope somewhat close to the barrel.

Thanks,
Dom

He hasn't really said much, I believe he mentioned it may come down to what MHSA is interested in purchasing a limited run of. First he needs to get a rail so he can get them made.

Hopefully Håkan will be able to get one soon so we will have some guidance on what to do. My preference would be something with about 30 MOA of cant between the Spuhr rings and base as that would be about optimal for the S&B I'll be throwing on my AT.

Like ZombieMonkey said above, from what we discussed he wasn't sure of the details yet but said it would be typical Spuhr quality so I wouldn't expect them to be cheap. It sounded like he may do multiple options for cant. I suggested flat, 20 MOA & 30 MOA. I personally am hoping for a flat base that's super low, then I'll use a Spuhr ISMS in the cant I want. I know it doesn't really matter, but I prefer to have the scope as low as physically possible...

OK. For all of the lucky ones that have already preordered... What kind of accesories are you planning on adding (rails, bipods, etc). I ordered the AT with 20" 308 barrel about a month ago. Planning on getting the 26" .260 barrel at a later time.

I've got the 20" Tan folder on order. Also getting a 24" 260 barrel, both barrels will have thunderbeast BA brakes on them for my 30BA. Going to purchase yet another atlas bipod with a spigot mounts. Hopefully Spuhr will have a lower scope rail ready by the time it shows up so I can determine which Spuhr mount will be going on this rifle. I will be cannibalizing a S&B PM II from another rifle to go on this one. That's how mine will be run or at least what I'm planning on doing.

Zombie, when did you order your AT? I think the order date on mine was 4-7. I thought it was before that but I just looked at the Invoice. I ordered the non-folder, plain barrel. I don't see a need for the side rails for my applicatoin. This will be my first AI, can you tell me what attachement/mount will be needed for the Atlas. I probably should have gotten the brake. I eventually want to get a can that I can use on my 300BLK and my AR308.

If you ordered through Mile High, they will thread the barrel for $125 I believe. Then you can put whatever brake on it you want.

You can always have MHSA thread it before they ship it out or have a local gunsmith thread it at a later time once you decide to go that route. You can order the BT-19 mount or purchase an atlas with one equipped. You can equip your AT with the bottom rail and use the standard QD mount if you like.

I ordered mine in February, hopefully that will make it out on the May 2nd shipment.

Spoke with Malissa yesterday at Mile High and she's starting to inventory all the orders, so they'll be ready when the first round of orders arrives in 1-2 weeks. I hope my AI AXMC308 is included, but if not it should be in the second shipment for sure. They'll be a lot of happy campers here soon!

just read this thread from the beginning. I have a 1998 .308 AW that has caused a lot of problems for me. For one thing it makes me upset with the rest of my rifles, a one to two inch group just don't cut it. I chase the bullet hits trying to make the group smaller and just get frosted. I find myself comparing rest of my rifles with the AW. When I get to upset I take the AI AW to range to reassure myself I'm not a total idiot. The rifle ALWAYS comes threw for me. I don't think you will be seeing a old AI AW thumb hole stock rifle for sale cheap from me anytime soon, I could see myself adding a partner to the one I have but I would sell the rest of my rifles before the one I have. I have LMT in .308 and 5.56. I like the quick change barrels, I use feature to clean weapons because its so easy to do. If I was going to buy another bolt rifle this would be the one.

If you are getting the NV rail the folks at MHSA have spec'd out the correct height SPUHR mount you will need. Can't wait for my AT!!!!

Are you guys gonna run your pods on spigot mounts or via rail attachment underneath? Im debating back and forth, and the spigot is pricey. Do you gain anything either way? After opinions from those who have run spigots on AI's previously.

I will be running the spigot mount, puts it out there a little bit further. The closer it is in towards the shooter the more it amplifies any input you put into bipod.

This^^^

And sorry oneshotwonder... when you spend $4000+ on a rifle, you lose the right to say a $60 spigot is expensive. ;)

I've got everything ready for mine... it's all sitting and waiting. :D Well everything but a lower rail anyhow.

Nah ive already got a qd Atlas. I wanna just get the bigdog spigot so i dont have to buy another pod. Still gotta be cheaper than buying a whole new atlas

Check out Big Dog Steels pictures in this post. Thats what im looking to do. Expensive but still cheaper than a new pod
