I haven't had the opportunity to shoot one but at a class this spring I was able to do a couple dry presses on one. Overall I like the rifle, size, comfort etc however I was a little surprised by the trigger. I wasn't really impressed with the trigger. It had a lot of over travel which I guess really isn't a big deal since you aren't doing trigger resets.

My question is this...do you guys see the trigger as an issue, do you do anything to improve it? I wonder if I add one of these to the family if going from a GAP or AI trigger to one of these if I will have an issue or enjoy shooting the rifle. Your thoughts?

I adjusted mine when I got it from the previous user. I'm happy with it although it isn't as nice as some non-bullpup triggers.

I think their website says travel and weight. I shot one in 338 LM and 308 last spring and have been trying to collect the $$$$ to order one. Just place my order this past weekend.

The trigger is another very common question and considering it's a bullpup, you'd assume it would be kind of shit for precision, but that's not the case at all. It's a solid trigger that's adjustable for weight, creep and location (ie you can slide it forward or back). The only people I know who don't like the SRS trigger are guys who shoot AIs exclusively. However, if you get an SRS be warned: you may sell off you other bolt guns or relegate them to safe queen status.

Yep, the trigger is very acceptable as far as I'm concerned. I've been impacted more by the ergonomics of the design. Mag changes are much more difficult than most other chassis and the rear bolt position makes left handed shooting quite a chore. Even so I still managed a 50th percentile place in my first long range tactical competition.

I absolutely agree with this. A couple of my rifles have become safe queens and another one will likely be sold when I do another conversion for the SRS.

Anybody run a small objective scope on their DTA? I have a 44mm objective on mine with as low of mounts as I can get (Its a cheapo primary arms FFP scope until I recover $$$ from the rifle purchase)

I notice my cheek weld puts the corner of the cheek raiser right in my cheek bone. After shooting about 10 rounds of 308 my cheek hurts pretty bad and if I keep shooting it takes about a week to feel 100% again (the worst was after about 30 rounds). That has happened 2X so far. Normally my groups get worse as the day goes on because I start developing flinch from it (which I have never had a flinching issue with rifles in the past)

It seems like a slightly higher scope would put the meaty part of my cheek on the cheek raiser and I assume the issue would go away completely. Has anybody else had this experience with smaller objective scopes? I'm just trying to confirm the scope height is the issue.

You really want a scope mount that puts the scope 1.5" above the rail. In my opinion, if you go much lower than 1.5" you are going to be putting your cheek on the SRS in an awkward manner to see through the scope.

I have shot a significant amount of ammo through my rifle and have never come away with my cheek hurting. The meat tenderizing butt pad is a different story when shooting a significant amount of magnum rounds through the gun.

I been calling everyday for the past week in fact I think Sales department might be getting annoyed with me. I keep getting info about how they are filling my order and then 2 weeks ago they were waiting for the 308 22in barrel conversion to come in and this week it's they are waiting for it to be filled and I should be expecting a tracking number. =/ I leave in 1 week for a month of training. It's going to be sitting at my FFL if I don't get it on time. My rifle is going to think I forgot about her. Like when you forget about picking up your kid from school. No but really I am pretty sad it's going to be here when I'm leaving.
I'll post up a pic as soon as I receive it if it comes in before I leave.

I bought a 1 month old SRS A1 here on the Hide the first of August. Go back to page 93 of this thread-Post #4609 (pictures shown) Rifle came with 22" 308 and 26" 260 barrels and have since bought 26" 338 barrel. All barrels shoot well and easy to change with minimal zero shift. Love the rifle and Vortex Razor HD scope. Still waiting for 2nd SRS A1 I ordered the first of March with 308 barrel. Hopefully, will be arriving soon! I'll be done when my 3 TBAC BA suppressors arrive!!!!

Okay update. I just got an email back from the sale dept with a tracking number I get mine this upcoming Tuesday!!!! Yeah I ordered mine straight from DTA. The wait sucked but I got a discount for being military so every little bit counts. The wait is long but only half the time I'm going to be waiting for my suppressor. Speaking of which time to go call them.

Euro Optic and other dealers place continual orders with DTA. If you buy from a large DTA dealer that has unallocated rifles from their orders, you will get your rifle quicker than going straight through DTA. If you place your order now directly with DTA, your are getting your place in line for one of these fine rifles, but you are right at the end of the line as everyone that placed their order before you should receive theirs first.

There are dealers that will match DTA's Military discount too, you just need to call to find them.

Here, I dont think I've posted this here. Shot this little fella during the Utah deer hunt. 620 yards with my DTA .260 barrel. after a little distraction from some other hunter's, I busted his neck. This .260 has brought a new level of confidence to my game.

Shot sniper match at Rayners range with my 260 covert yesterday. I love this gun!! We had a stage with a 2.75" tall by 10.25 wide target and the distance was unknown, wind was around 8 to 10 mph. No range finder allowed, so used scope estimated it at 532 plus or minus 25' lol dialed 9 min and nailed it!! 123 amax at 2950fps are the bomb for me out to 700. I struggle sometimes out to a k with them.

im using a SAC in 6.5x47 and coldbore is using a DTA 260. they both shoot great. i went with SAC because i wanted custom features. otherwise i would have been fine with a DTA setup. i want to thank Mark Gordon though because i went out and did some real shooting for the first time the other day with my new barrel and despite its short 22.5" length im still getting 2875fps with a 140 match burner and 41gr of H4350. and it shoots groups that look just as good as my custom bolt guns.

yeah just add one shot of a hot loaded 405 win sharps rifle and you got a hurt shoulder and the "no recoil" become a pain. I shoot my 260 no problem until my dad brings out the ole sharps and it kicks more than a 45-70 with 400gr with hot loads, the gun even weighs less than half its weight and kicks less. Oh and how do these handle while hunting? they seem nice if you ran a 16in 308 since you get very nice handling.

dta only offers one barrel length, contour, twist rate, paint color, etc... i am an extremely picky person and wanted a barrel with an exact length, twist, contour, thread, color etc...
man that scope is old school 5-22x56 NXS. ive had it for years and its hasnt had so much as a hiccup. i love it and cant see any reason why i should get rid of it even though some people seem to think that theres something wrong with an MOA MOA setup.

one of the benefits of living at high altitude besides having a highly tuned cardiovascular system is that our bullets fly faster easier. the DA last weekend was 5300' at 69deg F. but usually its up between 9000 and 11000. my house is at 4600 above sea level and where we shoot is anywhere from 5300 asl to 10000 asl. the air in utah is extremely thin and even drier. there isnt much getting in the way of the bullet besides the intended target. im sure if i came down towards sea level into the thick wet air the performance would suffer some.

At higher density altitudes bullets fly with less drag which translates to increased speed down range...not at the muzzle.

+1 for SAC barrels. My .338LM barrel is silly. Great pics btw, chubbles. I'm jelly.

We have been ramping up our production since April and I am happy to announce that our aggressive production efforts have increased production output over 300%. If you have orders with us that are older than April 2013 your salesperson should have already contacted you or your dealer, if not they haven't, they will be very soon. We are trying very hard to allocate rifles evenly across to the board so some dealers may not get all rifles ordered at the same time. The new rate of production will rapidly start chopping away at the remaining months of backlog so please bare with us because things are progressing very rapidly now.

Hello from Australia guys. Its my first post here after finally getting through the 105 pages of this awesome thread.
Ive had my gen 1 srs for about 2 years now, and absolutely love it. I have the 308 and 338 conversions, and im saving hard for more. My question is
In regards to the monopod. I just bought the monopod and up until now, had been using a Tab rear bag. I have only shot 50 rounds with it, but so far im struggling for consitency. Where do you guys hold it? Do you grab the monopod itself, or grasp the butt hook? When i used the rear bag, i didnt touch the actual stock at all, but i guess with this you have to? Any tips on hand placement, pressure, style?
