Yes, had a G2 Razor 4.5-27x56 that the objective lense shattered.
also I had one of the first Steiner m7xi 4-28 splatter grease on the reticle.

Do you remember selling me a DT monopod? I don't remember if I ever showed you what I did with it. I put it in a custom chassis I made for my 1022, here's a couple of pictures.
I konw it's not a DT, but at least it has a DT part on it!

It was a lot of fun putting some ideas together and having them work out on the 1022 that I got when I was a kid. The DT monopod for the rapid and fine adjustments, with hardened rods for guides running in ball bushings. This bag rider moves super easy and quick, and really works well.
Not the latest or perhaps the greatest, but still works for me! And you can use it to find those tiny screws you drop in the grass too!.
Groundhogs and crows in NE Ohio are getting their comeuppance with the SRSA2, SAC 223, aided of course by Swaro, Pulsar, Schmidt and Bender.

I was prone target shooting on my range when this guy showed up off to the side. I had to take him standing on the steps to my deck free hand, through a two foot square window opening on the oposet wall, while leaning back against the house.

It’s a repost but some years back I shot this monster (for the area) chuck on my buddy’s farm. If memory serves my wife and I were eating dinner with my buddy and his wife when my buddy’s wife pointed out the offending chuck through the bay window. My farmer friend had been asking about the DT, so I had brought it to dinner and it was in the corner. We dispatched the chuck from a window on the second floor.
That sounds fun, but we'd need to secure a few good places. I wouldn't want to sacrifice my local population. We give em hell every year, but we always leave a few for the next year too.

Last year while shooting at one at about 700 yards with the 338LM, this one tried to sneak up on us 100 yards away and his temerity cost him dearly
They are movers for sure. When I was younger we went and hour and a half to the mountains here in NC to shoot them. Now I live 2 hours east of where are grew up and they are here for the last few years. In 35 years the have populated several hundred miles east
I have been making some improvements to my DT bag rider design. Here are a couple photos of my prototype on my SRS. I have a few things to put on the CAD system before making a small batch of these. They will be black hard coat anodized. They use the DT monopod for rapid coarse, and smooth fine adjustments, and utilize it's full travel. The magazine can be changed even when at the low position. The base rail is 1/2" thick by 1-1/2" wide for a very solid, stable platform. I use a heavy leather Protek Tor Model rear bag with 1-1/2" wide ear spacing. (must specify when ordering)
This setup is extremely solid and rapidly adjustable. I would recommend the Elite Iron bipod to go with this setup. Or if you want to try your DT in F-Open one of their heavy type adjustable front rests would be an incredible long range setup! I will post photos of the finished product when I get them done.

SAC 223: born in Ohio to kill in Ohio
I measured my Gen 1 .338 LM bolt firing pin and hole this morning with a caliper, so could be a thou off. Pin OD .065" / hole ID .067"
The SRS's are all made to fire large rifle primers, if you go by their caliber offering. There is no factory spec ammo in these calibers available offered with small primers to my knowledge. Yes, there is small ptimer brass available for some of them, but not certified for them like many things we do in precision loading.
As far as I know the precision people suggest the firing pin for large primers should be .075" and for small should be. 062" with holes as close to them as will allow the firing pin to travel properly. This would leave less primer catering.
It appears by my measurements that they are somewhat in the middle and should be fine for both large and small. The holes are probably looser than you want if you are a perfectionist, but are ok for military spec. Tighter tollerances also make it harder to maintain during manufacturing, and in the field.
If your current bolt works, don't worry about it, if you want one to be specific for one or the other size primers, have one modified.

I don't actually need those bolts, I would just kind of like to have them for my collection. I have a gen 1 .338 bolt and like some of the original features it has. I also have a gen 2 .300 bolt, and have had what I will call a gen 3 .338 bolt. The later bolts do have improvements that are good and make sense, I'm kind of interested in the overall history and reasoning for each change.
Do you know how many variations / generations of bolts have been produced?
Gen 1 was one-piece with teardrop handle. A revision in 2011 replaced the teardrop with a sphere. Then a little after that we got the multipart bolts with removeable bolt face. Not much changes since until recently with the coated bolts.
I have the gen 1 with the spherical knob.
It has always worked well for me. I would kind of like to have all three bolt sizes in this generation with the solid caliber specific heads.

I finally got around to installing my sac conversion and I couldn't be happier. I have a bunch of berger 73's, 300 pieces of virgin lapua brass, and federal 205m. I settled on .030 off the lands, 24.2 vv n140 running 2680 with an average es of 15 and sd's in the single digits. Hopefully that will get better with fire formed cases. I'm learning both the precision game and reloading, however I'm having a ton of fun. Bottom pasties were 3 shot seating depth test, middle was a 5 shot powder test at .030, and the top was another seating test of 5 shots

I'm considering putting a covert hand guard and 16" or 18" barrel on my A2 for moose hunting and am looking for cartridge recommendations. Preferably 338 cal however 30 cal would do. 338 federal maybe?
My goal here is the shortest rifle possible which can still deliver enough power out to ~400 yards. I understand I'll be suffering quite a bit with this short of a barrel, not looking to go beyond 400 or so and in all reality the shot will likely be inside 200.

The moose didn’t argue with me.
Another concern I had was unburnt powder ending up in the can. Saw someones can blow up from using another guys loads that were tuned for his 32" barrel. I plan on using factory ammo as this will be a hunting barrel only and I don't plan on doing much else with it. May just go without the can for hunting, would help the overall length at least.
