Rifle Scopes Official Zero Compromise Optic News & Updates

Quick question to everyone who owns the 527 — I was out zeroing my scope today and I noticed that it tunnels on the lowest mags. Specifically, the FOV stops expanding when going down between around 5.5 and 5x. It’s very minor, but definitely noticeable. Is this normal?

I didn’t see anyone else talking about this or documented elsewhere, so I’m not sure if that’s intended in the design. I almost never really shoot at such low mags, but it’s good to know what’s normal. I don’t have a sunshade or anything that would impact the FOV.

Yes, I’ve seen this in some (maybe all, but I rarely go down that low to check them all).

Just checked mine, and it does ever so slightly in the x-range you mentioned. I’ve had mine over a year and that’s the first time I’ve given it more than a courtesy glance at 5x. I don’t hunt anymore, but that little bit wouldn’t be a deal breaker. I can’t recall ever going below 8x in any match,...usually in the 12-18x range where it really shines.
The thing is like ice cream for your frikin eyes, enjoy!

Now i know what you guys mean, top end optics:D.
The very top end.
Only downside is, that how the hell im gonna live after this scope is going to send back to the import:LOL:.
I must sell fw rifles to get one of these😝.
This one is with MPCT2 reticle, i love it.

They are very special indeed. I'm going to take advantage of the AX demo Mile High is running and pick up a AI AX with the 527 MPCT2 on top. This will be my 3rd ZCO. Addictive little fuckers ;)

Was at the range today. My initial reason was to make sure the 300PRC load data I had was good even though the temps have come up 40F+ since I developed my load. I back down on some powder but the software said my mils to 1000+ should be close with the increase in temps.

However....what I really did today was try out the ZCO 5-27 in a direct setting sun. I don't have a sunshade and I thought I waited too long and it was going to be miserable. What I found was a surprise. At 27X trying to do some paper work I had a nice white transparent 2mil circle shimmering dead center...but it really wasn't bad. I shot a nice .348" 5 shot group at 100yds in what should be challenging optical conditions. When I backed off the power...it got really nice. I grabbed my 308 with a Vortex PST Viper Gen 2 and it was a no go...I suspected it was because a few minutes had gone by and the sun had moved...but I looked through the ZCO...and it was good...the PST....not so much. I have a Leupold VX-3i on a 300BLK...and it was really a no go.

The real surprise came after the sun went behind the trees and hills...that last bit of daylight....damn this scope allows me to shoot much later than the others. I would have shot longer into the twilight but alas...the range closes and I gotta leave. I'm really debating now a 4-20 on a coyote gun....hmmm

I am with Moose. I own 2 4-20 and 2 5-27. Think I need 2 maybe 3 more 4-20 so I can swap out most of my scopes. Awesome scopes !
I am thinking of getting a couple more ZC4x20 scopes because I have owned most of the tier 1 scopes and the ZC 4x20 is my favorite. It just makes it so much easier for my old ass eyes to get on target.

Going to try and save my coins for one of these for on my 16" 6.5CM. At 500yd would you guys recommend the 4-20 or 5-27? Is there a big weight savings on the 4-20? don't really care about the overall size.

Give us a call at 916-670-1103 and we'll be happy to assist you in picking the correct option :)

@JPB308 Man, I love the colors on that stock. Molded in? More details please.

I found a McMillan A3-5 in stock on sale around Christmas, since it was black I wanted to change it up a bit. I went down to Ace Hardware and picked up three cans of Rust-O-leum and a natural sea sponge and went to work. I figure if it scrapes off I can do different colors in the future.

So I just got a ZCO and AI AX 308 and took it to the range this past weekend. Mounted in a Spuhr with 20 MOA and the rail has 20 MOA. I was expecting to have to slip the turrets (loosen the zero stop) and dial the scope down to match POA and POI at 100 yards (using some factory 168 HPBT match.) Instead I had to dial up 8.2 mil to set 100 yard zero. I have a strong suspicion I did something really stupid or am missing something really basic. I have been thinking about it for 2 days now and can’t it out. I can’t imagine ZCO would send out the scope already dialed down to the bottom end of adjustment or would they?
I am a little reluctant to zero out the caps and then try to dial up as far as I can on such an expensive scope I just bought for fear I’d mess something up. Any advice (even if it’s to tell me I am a dumb ass as long as you explain why) would be greatly appreciated.
And if this needs to get moved to the “Stupid Questions” section, please do.
Thanks in advance from the dumbass NFG.
And I love the optic, best glass I have ever had.

Mine came in dialed all the way down. Been flawless since installation 500ish rounds ago 😁

I had to dial a ton of elevation with a 20moa base and 0 moa mount for my vudoo with a 50 yd zero. They really do come bottomed out and with the full range of elevation ready to go.

Thanks to the replies. I will take it back out to the range next weekend and confirm zero and then set the zero stop. Just didn’t want to screw up a beautiful scope before I had better intel. Keep in mind a friend of mine used to loan me stuff to see how easily it broke before he would stock it. Said I was a better test bed than a squad of 18 year old Marines with new toys and no manuals or adult leadership! LOL

How much total up travel do you have ?

Just a few more days left of this awesome promo!!!

The two 4x20 ZC scopes I have are something special and not owning a 5x27 ZC do you think your giving up anything besides the extra 7 power.
I have multiple 5x27's, but no 4x20's. From everything I am hearing, the 4x20 is preferred by the majority, if only by a small margin. I could probably have gotten by with 4x20's as my default mag is 18x. However, I wanted to be able to go beyond 20x on the odd accasion where I felt it was warranted (which hasn't happed yet).
Either way, ZCO's are some fine kit. I think I'm done buying scopes, I have everything I need. ;)

@Moose I have the 5-27 but I don't think I would miss the extra 7. This past weekend I shot my first ever paper match to 1 mile...yep....1 mile...on paper. I was at 17 power....the reason being...at 500yds the wind was dead...at 1000 yds...the wind was dead...at 1 mile...the wind was dead....at the depression between 700 to 900 yards...I could see anywhere from a 5 to 12mph gust blowing the tops of the tall grass...I wanted to keep an eye on the movement of grass as I shot my group...on a tactical style 300PRC with bipod and rear bag....this technique kept my winning group at a horizontal spread of a mere 7" or so...my vertical due to either me or most probably difference in muzzle velocity was 23" or so....for a total spread of 25.251" for my recorded 5 shot group...and all 5 were on paper...while nobody else had more than 4 on.

Everyone else was max dialed...some with expensive front mechanical rests....I feel my technique won the match and theirs hindered their potential. So, in this case.... 20x max would still be above what I needed on that particular day. I've shot out to 2500 yards with 18x....the fine floating dot center of the MPCT3 reticle simply rocks. I'm a little reluctant to say how much I actually love this recticle and scope...because it will come off as a pom pom cheering event that may sound to some as not geniune...but I do love this scope.

Impressive How do you feel about magnification for smaller hard to see targets. Like varmints
