That’s a simple fix.
I don’t know kestrels system well but I’m almost positive helping friends set up theirs that I’ve seen a temp correction for powder area in it
Maybe someday I’ll get a kestrel.

is it the muzzle velocity temp?
I think he is saying get real world data by replicating what you are likely to encounter in your AO.
Me living in the NE - 30' low, 60' median, 90' high MV numbers.
Looking back through, I agree so let’s pull wind out. To answer post #15, then I’ll stick with my survey answer of 800yds just because that’s all I have confirmed DOPE for across the most DAs I’d face. For the purposes of his question, I didn’t/wouldn’t take wind into account.
Elevation is where I would be asking since he mentioned software
got it thanks! im about the same here...25ish 65ish 95ish should work...im going to do this tomorrow when i shoot ive got everything to make it happen...thanks.
Its awesome to me the lengths people will go to to get the best possible starting point.
I'm sure the effort pays off and for competitors/professionals its required.
I am so inadequate being a fudd.
I salute you!
MV- temp table.is it the muzzle velocity temp?
MV- temp table.
I have a similar function on ballistic AE and it’s really helpful in getting my 7 saum data lined up as R26 is definitely a bit more sensitive than the R16 in my 260.
Yep.
thanks SH and @Dthomas3523 @pmclaine
One of my life endeavours is to shoot here...

Its kind of a storied range on the local mil base. Steel out to 1000 meters. Twenty targets.

A perfect day would be my .308, one box of FGMM 175.
Draw up a range card, mil the plates through the scope, eat a sammich, attempt twenty first round hits.
Torso plates so every things bigger than MOA.
Holding to the .1 mil wouldn't be necessary but 20 rounds 20 hits would be a challenge for me.
i too want to shoot there...where is there?
Man I guess I am not as good as setting up my equipment as you guys. I can't say I can consistently get first round hits out to 1000+ yds and be with in .10 mil I am usually within .30 mils at 1000yds and then I adjust according. I am pretty much just a prone shooter banging steel out to 1000+ yds. I don't shoot PRS matches mainly because there aren't that many that aren't a few hours drive, maybe I will one day. I wasn't looking to get my opinion validated just wanted to see what other guys do. For me with what I do I am ok with being a click or two off and adjusting.......Thanks for all the info!
I mean, a tenth is a tenth no matter the range. The better question is at what target size does it become that important.
If you can hold a tenth of a mil at 100 yards you are still holding tenth of a mil at ten thousand yards.
Sure at 1000, but definitely not at 100. It all depends on target size and range assuming conditions aren't too harsh. That's what I was getting at.Loaded question. On high wind or the sun in certain positions, a tenth matters on an ipsc.
What is the size of that plate 14"?Only plate pic I have on this device. Shot by a client in the early morning after
training and truing the previous day. My wind call was a bit off, sorry....
