That range is Thunder Valley Precision in Eastern Ohio. Targets at 2,3,4,5,6,7,1000, 1100, 1200 and a mile. Adding a 2300 or 2400 yard target for next year. I usually make a trip there 2-3 times a year, $30 on an open range day for the entire day.Amazing looking range, where's that at? Who's cutting the grass???

Got the new toy all set up
sporting a 16.5” 308 proof carbon fiber barrel and TBAC ultra 9. Have a 24” AI 6.5cm barrel in the closet waiting for me to work up loads.Added a GAP Tempest to the Heard. Scoped it and shot it tonight with my son. Bore sighted, and put 20 down the pipe.

Took the GAP Tempest to the sand pit today, Got a .8 inch group with a total of 25 rounds down the pipe @ 200 yards. Some mild wind, factory Hornady 108 ELD-M. Really liking the action.
I like the compact lever-action 44’s too (Win trapper). The lever-action: the original assault rifle.
Just finished a build on Impact action. It’s a .308

I think the 700P is an excellent rifle for the money. Great setup.
Added a brake to my Lima 51 today. Took it and my MRAD to the indoor range and did some testing with it. Just a standard loading of 168 SMK and 43.5 grains of Varget. A load I use in all my bolt guns, nothing worked up for this rifle.

Both are awesome setups! I love the MRAD rifle, but I guess I've not really heard of the Lima (no surprise, as I'm sure there are tons of custom makers I've not heard of), but that Lima is simple gorgeous. Hoping it likes 105 gn RDF's the barrel is specifically chambered for the Hornady 108's. I haven't been able to find any?? Being close to Bend, OR I have great access to Nosler, so I prefer to use their bullets.. Planning on starting with H4350, Nosler Brass and CCI #200 primers. should be a fun rifle!!

Thanks. It's a Frankenstein FTR rifle I built based off Savage action dual port target action. 32" Benchmark barrel. Used FTR stock I bought on Accurate shooter. Friend did the flames. Timney trigger. Nightforce NXS scope. Seb Joy Pod, which I'm using on another rifle. Shooting Berger 200-20X. Threading barrel now for a EC tuner and will start testing over winter.
Here's my "oops I bought a cheap rifle on a whim, then put it in a chassis on a whim now I have too much invested and will rebarrel it, rifle."

Yeah, i did something similar with a Savage 30-06. Now in a TAC21 chassis. I went with a Criterion and could not be happier! Accuracy very similar to Proof and Bartlien.
It's been difficult to find a barrel maker that does Mossberg Patriots. McGowan does. I had an offer from crownridgebarrelworks.com to do a custom fitting for a very reasonable price. Not much feedback out there on his work but I may give him a shot. I believe the Patriot share the thread diameter and pitch with Savage but I haven't been able to confirm 100%.
I just picked this up from Alamo precision this week. It has an old remmington 700 that they trued and sent somewhere to have the firing pin bushed and a m16 extractor installed. It’s a 6.5x47 16.5” proof sendero 1-8twist. The stock is a a3 sporter edge fill that was painted by josh at bmc customs. (I was drunk one night talking to him I mentioned Rhodesian brushstroke, this is what he came up with) the scope is a mk5 in seekins rings.
it weighs 9lb5oz as she sits omega 30 and all. I think I’ll try 130eld’s first and if those don’t work I’ll go lighter.
