Price Check in the Gas and Diesel Aisle...

Roads and bridges are already shit.

The worst part about being taxed 43% is getting shit out of it.

I might not be as peeved about 43% tax if we had well maintained roads, healthcare, and higher education like other commie fuck countries, but no. All we get for our taxes is more welfare children here and money laundering in ukraine.

Don't forget a lot of illegal immigrants too, with free phones, room and board.

Oil
WTI @ 105.23
Murban @ 115.38

Some interesting things happening in the oil markets. Supply and demand with a look at the future.
__________

The Murban Crude Oil Future is a physically delivered contract, basis FOB Fujairah (ADNOC) loading terminal, UAE.
The contract will provide users with an effective hedging instrument for Arab Gulf crude oil and other grades trading into the Asia Pacific Region. The underlying physical market is for Murban crude oil available without the local Abu Dhabi resale restriction.

That may be true this year, but if inflation continues, the gas will only be one problem for families in the future. As with everything in today's society, we only think of the present and let the future work itself out. This will be the reason for our society to fail. Planning for the future is an alien concept today. Many never think of what tomorrow will bring, much less plan for it.

Some of the broad factors that historians use to help explain imperial collapse are:
  • Economic issues
  • Social and cultural issues
  • Environmental issues
  • Political issues

What I have termed as "The Perfect Storm" will have all four of these factors happening simultaneously.

and, in other news, California is getting excited to close down another nuclear plant, in 2025. The diablo station creates 9% of CA's energy.
Go CA!!
This is as smart and closing down the nuclear plan in NJ and not adding electrical capacity
- Diablo Canyon has been the only operational nuclear plant, and the largest single power station, in that state. - per Wiki

Wonder how much companies pay for SPR oil that is being sold at million barrels per day greatly depleting the stock over the past weeks, months . Before the midterms are over , it seems Brandon will deplete SPR to 82' levels and you will still have 5 to 6$ gas

The drop off the clif is the Ukraine war/ sanctions on Russian oil.

San Onofre is no longer operational ?
That is idi-fucking-otic.

I don't think it will ever get fixed at this point; even if the voters go all Republican, you still have the Rino's to get rid of. It's just one big uniparty now.
It will take some serious turnover in leadership to get this boat righted. Can it happen? maybe, but the voting laws have to get fixed first before it does.

A $10 national average would go a long way towards ensuring democrats don’t get elected in the future, and erasing 2 generations of brainwashing on global warming.

No, they’ll still get re-elected. The narrative is that this is an external problem, ergo the dems can’t “solve” it but they can print some gas cards to help everyone! 🙄

Another example of a three letter agency making rules without going through the Legislature / Congress. They are going to run us out of gas and diesel.

It is not adding up.
We empty the Strategic oil Storage of cheap oil........ The ability of the refineries is so low that excess crude is being exported from the Gulf Coast states.

Crude exports through Gulf Coast ports are expected to top 3.3 million bpd in the second quarter this year, exceeding the previous record of 3.2 million bpd in the first quarter 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic took its toll on global markets.

so,, It's like LP..
Hey, we can sell it to USA for 1.29 or we can export it, and the USA price will 'artifically rise' (which is a real fk'n rise) to 2.00; since there will be more demand.
biden, empties reserve, gas companies buy all that cheap oil, and sell it to everyone but the USA..
talk about a fk'n
Under trump, so much oil coming in, that USA could get cheap fuel and refinery's could still refine and export.

I'll cut to the chase....... "They" are going to first run us our of fuel and next run us out of food.

LOL.... I am a retired, Union Steamfitter Welder.... Retired out of Local 250, Los Angeles.... Our people built that plant...
Sounds like a Quality Control issue with the tubing.... I witnessed the drop in quality back in the late 70's when material started coming from foreign countries... I could be TIG welding high pressure chrome tubing and there would be a loud "POP" and next to my weld would be an inclusion that expanded and blew out. guess what, somehow it became the welders responsibility to gring it down to base metal, fill it in, grind it smooth and complete the pipe weld. When it was X-Rayed the inclusion was not supposed to show up on X-Ray...... If it did the welder was sent down the road. They had to blame it on someone. Next, a guy like me was sent to grind it all out and repair the defect.... Soon, my work became all repairs. That was the beginning of the downfall of America.

Years ago me and my buddies used to fish near the hot water exit from San Onofre.
It was about 1.5-2 miles offshore and attracted fish like a mofo due to the 85'ish degree water.
Most of the time the cattle barges were there too (party boats) out of Dana and Newport.
Those were some good times, lotsa beer and lotsa fish (calico/sand/kelp bass, barracuda, halibut, sheepshead, you name it).

Here's the part that caught my eye

In addition, a public meeting will be held in the vicinity of the plant to discuss the results/status of the staff's reviews and inspections prior to making a decision regarding restart.

Note that before these actions could be completed, SCE made the decision to permanently retire SONGS Units 2 & 3 and enter the decommissioning process.

my opinion - hurry and close them before everyone finds out SCE overreacted

This week, a possible doomsday scenario could emerge in oil markets, based not only on OPEC+ export strategies but also due to increased internal turmoil in Libya, Iraq, and Ecuador. Possible other political and economic turmoil is also brewing in other producers, while US shale is still not showing any signs of a substantial production increase in the coming months.

My understanding it that it wasn't a material problem, but rather than the operational parameters of the plant exceeded the design parameters of the heat exchangers. Whether that was the fault of Mitsubishi or SCE, I don't know. Given that SCE was looking for $7.6B and was awarded only $58M after being forced to pay for Mistubishi's legal fees, it would appear that the vast majority of the blame fell upon the operator.

Unfortunately, playing the blame game doesn't restore the lost 2.5 GW of clean reliable power.
