If you got a suppressor from them BOGO event please read. After lots of ridiculousness with the dealer and the ATF I finally received two of my suppressors after a long 17 months. It’s the longest I’ve ever had to wait and only got it then because I got an ATF Director friend involved. Anyways after receiving two of the ones we ordered on the trust, I was inspecting them when I noticed that there was a blockage in the Omega! I kept looking and looking and also noticed that the baffles were keyholed looking. I don’t know if this is normal for an Omega design but to my recollection none of my other suppressors that have baffles look like that. At any rate that wasn’t as alarming as the blockage. I tried to shake it out, blow it out etc. and it would not dislodge. So I went and got a dowel and run it through there by hand, which I always do on these things, and it dislodged it. It looks like some kind of honing stone as it’s definitely a stone and is triangular in shape and was lodged on something inside. Needless to say, if I had shot this thing without checking this then I could have had a very bad day! Please make absolutely sure that you have no obstructions in hour suppressors!

I hope you got pictures and sent them to SilencerCo... cuz this shit is dangerous as fuck!

I couldn’t get pics of it lodged in there because I could never get it lit up well enough to focus, but I do have pics of the stone that was lodged in there. And, I will be contacting them after the holidays. This is something I always check but there are probably lots of people out there that do not.

In there defense tho, I have no way of knowing whether it got in there at SilencerCo, most likely, or the dealer who also does machine work.

They are. Lots of modern rifle can baffles are keyhole shaped fyi

Ok good. I didn’t think most of mine were but maybe they are and I just didnt remember. I’m pretty confident my Thunderbeast, which is the last one I had out, is not keyholed. Don’t quote me on that tho as I really don’t remember. Short of going to the shop and checking them all in person lol I can’t argue about it. Haha.

Figured it out, multi caliber cans as in those specifically made for multi cal uses have them keyhole baffles. Suppressors that are one cal specific typically do not hence the reason they are quieter than a multi use can as far as I can tell.

Not 100% accurate... The main reason for the notch is to create turbulence

Interesting. Shows you what I know about suppressor design. Lmao! I don’t design them I just shoot them. And I’m just going by what I noticed on the ones I had. Got two with keyhole baffles including this Omega and 3 that do not. The ones that do are multi cal use so I just assumed....

Maybe that’s why some of these have a very noticeable first round pop! Lmao! I’m curious, @Huskydriver have you noticed any larger variances of poi shift using assymetrical baffle designed suppressors vs. symmetrical designs?

Too many variables to attribute the variance I have seen to just that one variable.

I shoot 100% suppressed all the time and shoot sub moa no easier or harder because of my cans. I could care less about shift... What I care about is the shit repeatable and consistent... Every can I own is across a bad full of barrels I use on my switch barrel rig

agreed. As long as it’s repeatable and you can account for it then it’s no biggie! I was just curious if one design seemed to have more of a shift over another.
