Does this app have MRAD's as well as MOA as a form of measurement? I heard it didn't, but I think that person is full of crap. Lol! Also I'm looking at using the their app while saving up for the AB kestrel. Is the app with the custom curves and kestrel 4500 NV going to be pretty damn close to what I would get with the AB kestrel itself? Also how much are the custom curves when purchased in the app store?

I have and use both...
The AB android app does allow for MOA or MIL units of angular measurement.
Both the AB app and the AB Kestrel are using the AB mathematical formulas... In theory, they should (and do) output the same answer given the same variables are input......In other words - garbage in, garbage out.

Just bought a 4500 NV BT and the android app. I've been playing with it a little and it seems pretty good. The BT link connects the app to the Kestrel and imports the atmospherics while constantly updating. There seems to be less than 1 sec lag time between the wind reading on the Kestrel and it updating on my phone. I bought the 208 AMAX custom curve and it was like $2.13. So, I bought the Kestrel for $300 like new on here; $30 for the app; and $2 for the custom curve and should have the exact same firing solution as the $699 Kestrel AB version. I haven't had the chance to use it enough to see any limitations of doing it this way

Well I just bit the bullet and purchased the AB Kestrel instead of trying to work around getting it. I'm really trying to thin down my kit for some hiking hunts later this year and I don't think it gets anymore all in one than the AB Kestrel. Thanks guys.

Not sure about the Kestrel but the AB IOS software is no where near compared to some of the other apps.
105 Hybrid @ 3000 FPS, .278 G7 BC, 3k DA, 95 degrees, produces a solution of .4 difference at 1000 yards
AB 6.8 mils
Shooter 7.2
Ballistic AE 7.15

Anyone else see a difference?

Have you tried posting in the AB Kestrel thread in the external ballistics thread? The creators of the unit are in there constantly helping with any issues that may arise. Seems like they have some really good product support. Good luck getting it right!

The Android AB app is spot on for me. Used a magneto speed shooting at 100 to get velocity on a new load then put the data in to AB. I used the AB data and took out a watermelon at 550 in one shot. The data was dead on at 750 as well.

I used absolute pressure (station pressure) and temp for the data per my kestrel that doesn't have AB.
