Rittenhouse Trial

It Does Not Make Sense Johnnie Cochran GIF - It Does Not Make ...

What was the point being made there before the break about how long the prosecution took in their closing argument (1:45 vs 2:08)? Were they just bullshitting & it was really irrelevant?
The judge apparently put a limit on the length of arguments and the prosecutor exceeded it. The judge said that he had no intention of strictly enforcing it. I have had judges who are crazy about this and others where it's just a rough guideline. A 2 hour closing was also excessive. I would have kept it to 45 minutes regardless of which side I represented.

Good grief, if it is possible to take a swish out of the hoop, this Richards is trying. Guy is all over the board. The other defense atty seems like a better choice.
I’m afraid they will convict Kyle just because he bored them to tears and ran them in circles. Dear god man, you’re story telling here, painting a picture. These are humans not robots.......

He sounds like Minnesota/Canadian to me. Midwestern accent is neutral.

Its the upper Midwest Wisconsin/Minnesota accent (yeah very Canadian like) Wisconsin is kinda a combo with less sing-song of Minnesota and a strong Chicago inland cities vowel shift. I have been accused of having one by my wife when speaking to relatives still local.

And yes a 'True' Midwestern accent is no accent at all. Central Iowa, Nebraska, Central Illinois.

Rest of you all talk funny.

I can’t help but wonder if this is a tactic to sew reasonable doubt......?

It's a very bad tactic because he really has no good flow to him and is all over the place. Granted he's right in everything he says, but the jury might be getting annoyed. Not smart for a closing arguement IMHO.

When he said “and I’ll end with this” you could almost hear the whole room sigh in relief.........

I lived my first 30 years in Illinois and I definitely don't talk like that dude. I'm actually surprised he sounds so Wisconsin, since where I'm from is maybe an hour south of where this happened if there isn't traffic. He sounds like he's from a foreign country compared to Illinois north of I-80.
