Tastes great. 10:00 pm, my knees totally lock up, can't move at all without unbelievable pain. Crawl to bed. Call work next day and manage to get to the K/P Emergency center. Multiple Docs', Thank you all, check me out for hours, needles, blood tests, you know the drill. They figured that I had had a severe allergic reaction to MSG in the food. The Docs told me what they don't know about MSG is far, far more than what is known medically which they don't like. Right away they put me on a steroid medication which got me back on my feet and back to work in a week, but was told that my strained ligaments and tendons would take a much longer time to heal, like many months. They are right, knees are still stiff and sore, but can walk. This really taught me a lesson on how a body can change as we get older, also, what the hell are we putting in our food!

Previous options were an issue in watersheds as residual/leaching increasingly created application
usage logistics.
Liability of application/transport pressures as well.
It was touted as inert in less than 24 hrs after ground contact.
I witnessed it from the beginning of GMOs entering into seed choices/chem programs.
Economic reasons drove this/these choices as much as anything.
The net result was cheaper chem program with a increase in seed costs for a total net gain in the bottom line.
Exposure to the previous choices was practically a no brainer that they were toxic.

As Monsanto effectively seized the lion's share of the market.
Syngenta(European Corp.) had their versions as well.

If memory serves it was driven by 22 short blanks.
The above has been driven by "I wonder if we could" more than "I wonder if we should".

We actually probably could, but it would take years to train people in the proper ways, and to build the infrastructure needed.

People get pretty mixed between GMO seeds and hybrid seeds. They are not the same.

Most of the problems we have are due to a basic misunderstanding of the ground we grow our crops in. That tilling is good. Mono cultures are good, if it makes the plant grow, its good for it.

The fungal body in healthy soil, that has not been tilled, can store an unbelievable amount of water. Not to mention the amounts of water we save by getting extra organic matter in the soil. Something like 20k gallons per acre per 1%. First secession microbes eat most of the organic matter when you till. It will be less each year. Let it build up on the surface. The organic residue, and it goes up.

Personally, I could care less if something is hybridized... or GMO. Because GMO is really just accelerated hybridization. Otherwise the project would have failed. Bottom line it all boiled down to money. Money is driving the lawsuits and the lawyers and those pushing research don't care who it destroys in their wake.

I am sure you are smarter than Monsanto's scientists that admitted it wast as safe as they said, and they knew it. I am sure you are smarter than scientist that figured out some of 400 "inert ingredients" kill human cells at concentrations much lower than its recommended mix rate. I am sure if presented with said evidence you would ignore it, and go on some unquantifiable opinion based rant, because you already did. Yes, organic is better because its sustainable. No you can't go organic in 1 year and not loose yields. Its like wanting an infant to fix your tractor, maybe as he matures.

Non=Hotchkin's lymphoma,yup been there for a while now.
I'm not saying it's related to Roundup because I have worked in refineries, steel mills all my life.
Here's something I want to bring to the table.
I remember when everyone used Atrazine,there were a lot of problems with carryover from one year to the next and limited rotations.
Then came Roundup,the do everything product.
Back in the 80's there was really no guidance except for word of mouth,think about that.

A good friend worked for an ag chemical company that tried to compete with Monsanto during the early Roundup days. My friend was a toxicologist that led an effort to see if they could claim glyphosate is a carcinogen. After a decade of expensive research, he concluded that it was not a threat if proper safeguards are taken, etc. Realize that if you are a slob with Roundup as a farmer or a homeowner, it can cause problems - it is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, it's toxic, etc. But if you look at the details of this article and know how to handle, apply and store responsibly, I don't think you'll lose any sleep over it:

When all is said and done it doesn’t really matter if someone wants to swim in roundup and insist it’s safe because the gov made them pay scientists for printed lies. If they want to be able to eat whatever whenever for their short life let em. Who are we to try and save them. It’s not like there is any value to living of the land, to knowing we’re your meat came from, or what it ate. It’s not like heirloom tomatoes or eggs taste any different from your back yard as the ones on Walmart shelfs. It’s not like we have organic methods that have been in use for thousands of years. How did we survive before roundup? No wonder why people died young in the early days. If you don’t know the connection between oil, Rockefeller and the fda then enjoy your food. If you do have any of that worthless tasteless food that was grown without roundup, send it to me, I will dispose of it properly so you can fill your pantry with some of those tomatoes that can sit in your fridge for months without going bad. After all how can something without preservatives or insecticides keep you preserved and catapillar free?
