For those that bought the new Ruger Mark III only to find it has a number of truly awful new features, not the least of which the magazine/hammer disconnect which causes misfires and a terrible mag drop, well here is one that was sent to me that takes care of a major drawback of the new Lawyers Model Ruger III.

- Yes, with, a round in and the mag out, it will fire when the trigger is pulled just like Mark I and Mark II.

- Yes, the mag will now drop freely just like Mark I and Mark II.

- No washers, no buying a new bushing, no parts.

- No lateral pressure on the hammer.

That's Ruger for you... take a design, make it a little better, then make it worse.

I have a couple of mk II's and have no hunger for a mk III.

Thanks for the video but personally I still prefer the washer method as I can return the gun to factory configuration. When I was first looking into removing the disconnect this was my first instinct though...

Thanks. Just completed the mod and put things back together. Nice to have the mag fall away now like my Mark II's.

I knew I had bought my last Ruger 22 pistol when I saw the first Mk III.
My next one will be a S&W Model 41.

Yep, works as described. A bit of patients, some small files and a Dremel and I was done in about 30 minutes. I figured it I screwed it up, all I'd have to do is order the aftermarket parts like I was going to do before.
