I currently pay the same rate on vacant land as I do on land with improvements. My land is worth more than my improvements. So why would I agree to a higher rate?

Its not only homeowners but businesses as well. Businesses pay property tax yearly on land, buildings, vehicles, and inventory. It’s disgusting and a huge deterrent to small business. Its a shame a business owner has to pay a yearly tax on things he already owns and needs to operate a business. @RyanScott is clueless.

Correct, we get to rent our buildings, machinery, trucks, etc that we already own free and clear. It sucks ass and is a huge expense.

The amount of land is fixed though the value of it may vary. This variance is based primarily on the investment of others, be it nearby owners or the public via the government. So it makes sense to tax it because unlike a consumption tax that discourages economic activity or an income tax that discourages work, a land value tax does not discourage the existence of land.

A worker’s paycheck with the new MW wages wouldn’t even be scheduled for direct deposit before they are spending it just on gas, food, and bills. There is zero way to ensure that a MW increase won’t lead to an increase for the rest of the population not working at the MW level.

I changed all my contributions to Roth 401K last year, I don’t see tax rates ever being lower than they are now with the new group of socialists coming up. I’d rather pay 14% now than 30% later. Id like to avoid what occurs in other countries though......

In some countries it becomes a limit to opportunity if people do not get the proper tickets punched.

I want achievable standards, a basic Western Civilization education, discipline and access for all that will work.

Some other countries have school systems that run on class or they pipeline the student without regard for what the students ultimate goals are.

Suck part in our country is in regards to higher education is that the paper bestows the "license" of "Leader or sage" to people without the qualifications.......in other words there are a lot of stupid Harvard educated people out there but based on their diploma they are given legitimacy......daily we see the failure of this.

That problem and the fact that our school system has been corrupted to be an indoctrination program.
