So this is not something I would do so asking for a friend. Say you have one of those Hoz and Shield cold bore caps for your RimX because it is supposed to keep the magic in. Then say your friend accidentally didn’t remove before flight and it went flying down range. I mean I know there is a hole in it for these sorts of things but could any damage happen to the barrel or action specifically? Please excuse damage to feelings and pride…. For my friend. Thank you.

Nothing happens to the rifle at all….if fact at 100 yds bullet hit it the bullseye Now the Hoz & Shield thingy don’t work anymore for some reason it’s no longer magnetized?
It’s actually interesting accuracy wise it was super close for the whole mag. I’m not sure when it actually flew off but the group wasn’t terrible. Mine still sticks though.

Won’t hurt anything.

FWIW, I have my bore cap tethered to my magazine plug with one of those key ratcheting tethers. A piece of Velcro on the side of the chassis and one in the tether keeps things in place. I took the ring off, and used a zip tie with some electrical tape to hold the core cap in place. Nearly impossible to forget to remove the bore cap.
