Re: SHWW Group

Guess I missed something, what is the reason for the get together friday evening at KRR.

Anoother question, have any of you had work done or a barrel installed by Blackhole weaponry? the have a polygonal rifle barrel that I am considering for an AR 10 project and I am looking for some feedback.

Re: SHWW Group

Alright guys I have finally decided next match will be december 10th, bring 100rds, and some warm clothes.

Price will be $40 and we will only be accepting 24 shooters total. For this and all future matches you must pay ahead of time and there will not be any refunds (unless weather stops us from shooting). cof will be up to 100rds but isn't 100% yet but promise it won't go over that.

As always i promise the cof will have some new twists and turns, no unknown distance, but fair amount of non prone shooting. Of course I will be building some new barracades for this one.

I will give the shww guys a head start on this before i post it in the tactical competitions section.

For entry please send me an email that includes.

After i get the email i will hold your spot for up to 10 days or until the funds arrive.

Guns West in Yakima has a few rifles set-up with them, if you just wanted to get the feel of them.
If you come to the match I'm sure there will be more than one rifle wearing that stock.
Beware, because when you see all of the nice rifles your head will start spinning. LOL
By looking at the rifles you have bought and sold here, I have a feeling you are a "gun junkie" waiting to really come out of your shell.

SScott </div></div>

SScott I am already a full blown "gun junkie" My problem is I get about as much fun from finding all the parts and building them as I do from shooting them. I like to have about one project always burning in the back ground. Right now it is building my girl a 223 so she can shoot with me. But after that I am thinking I need 6x45 just for fun, I guess my problem is that I am addicted to trying out different calibers and systems. SO as long as there are new calibers and new systems, I am stuck wanting to try something new.

Thanks for the info about guns west, but I just can't go in there, Brad always treats me with such disrespect that I can't support him in any way.

LOL
I hear you, I went in there about 6 weeks ago and decided I would never go back again.
I can't stand his pompus attitude, I thought it was just me.
You should really come out to the match, even if you decide not to shoot, it's really a great group of shooters.

Re: SHWW Group

Broker,
We can go out to my gun club, and you can get actual zero and trajectory out to 550 yards. Altitude at that club is around 600 feet IIRC. But it will get you in the ball park for come ups even though at the altitude and temp where the match is, it will probably be different. Call me if you want to go out there.

Re: SHWW Group

the range has lighting and I am a member there so I can let you guys through the gate, shooting has to be all done by 9PM.
If another time and date works better for you guys just let me know.
cheers.

Just a get together for the sake of getting together since we're all in Kitsap...

Definitely. My schedule is ridiculously busy for the next few days though and KRRC is about 15 minutes away for a quick 100yrd zero. We need to get together once I get some aerials though and do some scouting around for the local 1000+ DNR range we will discover

Re: SHWW Group

Guys, I just sold a rifle and the FFL is refusing to send a copy of his FFL for shipment. https://www.atfonline.gov/fflezcheck

He just sent his FFL # and a link to get his address and the link says:

Federal Firearms License Results

Warning: No one may use this screen, in lieu of the required certified copy of a Federal Firearms License, to acquire a firearm.

He claims,

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> According to the ATF they do not want copies in the hands of people other then FFL holders. If you have a FFL I will send you a copy. For your records all you need to do is print the screen with my info on it. This is the way I have done it for 2 years. If you have any other questions please let me know.

Chris</div></div>

I've never heard of this and I'm not shipping until it gets sorted out. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Seekers

I just called my FFL and that's accurate. They aren't supposed to send a copy to anyone other than an FFL holder.

Re: SHWW Group

That's absurd. Ask him where they say they don't want copies in peoples' hands. All the FFL information is public record anyways and you can get it all straight from the ATF website including FFL number, business name, premise address, mailing address, and phone number.

Wow, I have never heard of that. That's interesting seeing as it's all public record. I wonder how they want you to make sure a FFL is valid then for shipment since they tell you on the FFL check website specifically NOT to use that information in place of an actual copy of the license.

My thoughts exactly!

How exactly am I covered when I ship this firearm?

Re: SHWW Group

They should at least give you the first 3 letters and the 5 last letters of the FFL license so you can verify they are a FFL.. Never heard not to give out FFL holders license before.. pretty much all that I've dealt with in the past have.

Re: SHWW Group

I don't claim to know the rules intricately, but have shipped firearms both ways. One, I've had a copy of the FFL, and clearly written on it in ink states copy. I've included this in the shipment., The other route was to recieve the FFL #electronically, and go to EZ check to determine that the number was valid, and the FFL was current (not expired). I've shipped firearms to a couple of gunsmiths I've worked with in the past without any paperwork.

Glen is there a toll free number you can call with the BATF that could get an answer to what's "legal, correct, proper," and will keep you from getting a set of wrist bracelets?

The information on who has one is public, but the actual photocopy is not.

I double checked it with several other FFL's and the ATF and all concur.

Re: SHWW Group

Like Broker I checked this out with several sources, including two FFL holders and they all agree that this is how business is done. I haven't sold a gun online in a couple of years and like many of you had just never heard of it.

thank you all for your input and efforts,

Seekers

Re: SHWW Group

Splat , I dont know what your platform is but fyi , going to
dbm from a floor plate or blind mag often requires in-letting the action as well. Make sure the smith you choose can do this if needed .

Re: SHWW Group

Splat,

get ahold of JD Thomas, known as hsss here. Shoot him a pm or call 509.945.6623. He is the smith that I use, and quite a few other people around our area have used also. Good product and quick (has built me 2 rifles-and the build time on each was around 3-4 days). Give him a call.

Re: SHWW Group

I due to the fact we are getting such a good turn out i am going to now run 4 squads instead of 3 so we can accomodate up to the full 30 shooters.

so if you are still interested pm me.

HSSS is good to go and local can't beat that.

Hello friends,
Sorry to butt in, I am new to the forum, just got bit by the long distance precision shooting bug. Can you suggest any upcoming courses in WA/OR in the next few months and long distance ranges to shoot near SW Washington?

Re: SHWW Group

Guys we are completely full at this point in fact we have more than enough plus some on standby. You guys don't know how good it makes me feel to know you guys enjoy the matches i put on that much. I will try not to dissapoint you guys with the cof.

On another note i am looking for at least one more Range officer so if you are interested please contact me. At my matches the RO gets to shoot also and still qualifies for all prizes.
