I would probably buy the surefire, but their switch system is kind of antiquated. I'm happy to see some new guys on the block upping their game.

Is there any way to put the rein switch on the surefire? Any similar switch options available for the Surefire?

The rein is nicer in that you can use it at 100 yards, but I don't know how many bad guys I'll encounter at that range, unless we're invaded.

What's the best way to tidy up a surefire switch? Zip ties?

Thanks!

Plenty of switch options for the surefire. Look at unity tactical and modlite for surefire compatible switches. If you want more throw than what the 600DF offers take a look at modlite.

I had a M600DF, have two cloud defensive REINS, and have a modlite.

Surefire is great indoors, but quickly lags modlite and cloud once you get beyond 25 yards. I actually prefer the cloud over the modlite, but I prefer the modlite switch options.

There are about a million options for cable management, and cloud does make cable management products for surefire pads. My recommendation would be cloud if you know you like the switches. Modlite if you want modularity and performance similar to cloud.

I like cloud both in product, and company over surefire and modlite. I know they are working on other switch options as there current offering isn't bad or good. I think a single button that worked both functions (press for momentary, press harder for click on constant) would just about perfect it.

That would be awesome.

I like the looks of the hot button. But what do you do with all the excess cable? Zip tie it to your rail?

I have a rein 1.0 which has a similar switch and I wasn't a fan. The light itself is awesome and the quality and durability are industry leading. The tailcap button is the best I've used by far and it's the same with or without remote. If you can mount it at 10:30 and mostly operate the tailcap I think it's the best solution for the rein.

This is the rein 1.0 on an arisaka inline mount and you'll see the ghetto tie cable management for the other unit. There are some nice options for mlok rails but if you have dickmod rails you're pretty much screwed. The zip ties actually work great and you just carry spares in your pistol grip and with a multi tool you can repair/modify your setup anytime.
