MSDS on it before people say it has ammonia - http://www.nufinish.com.au/pdfs/MSDS Nu Finish Car Polish.pdf

The nufinish is on the left, cabelas is on the right. both were tumbled in corn cob media for 4 hours, using the same lyman 2500 tumbler.

Maybe I did, but I've been tumbling brass for over 20 years, so I don't think I over did it. I found the brass to be slippery, hard to hold on to when separating it from the media. Most people seem to have good results with it though.

hmm, ill take another look, but i didnt think it was overly slick. i just like that it cleans well and its way cheaper than the flitz.

I agree that it is a little slicker, but I like it. Doesn't tarnish as fast and feeds great. If you want to feel slick, run some Hornady match TAP(nickel plated) brass through some NuFinish.

I had tried the Nu Finish in the past and messed it up (clumped). I read about cutting it with a tablespoon of mineral spirits in a cup first then put it in about 30 min before the brass and the bling is amazing. I use mine with Zilla walnut lizard bedding (never sticks in flash holes). I recharge the media about every third tumble.

Interesting results, looking at the container on the right, I see primed cases. Were these cases primed after cleaning, I hope? What was the average difference in the condition of the primer pocket?

Nu Finish is a polish. The more you polish something the smoother (slicker) it gets. Also, Nu Finish leaves a polymer coating. Is it good or bad? Well, the cleaner/smoother the case the easier on the die and the elbow and shoulder. Does the polymer cause the case to "slip" in the chamber when fired? Might be able to prove it in a laboratory, but I've fired lots of rounds tumbled both with and without additives. Never noticed any differences on the target or fired cases. Bottom line...whatever trips your trigger.

Same here except I hadn't heard about cutting it with mineral spirits. I'll have to give that a try next time.
