Okay, help us all understand your responses. Are you saying they are both subcontracting out the work to the same third party machine shop? Who is that?
I'm sure your smart enough to put together what I'm saying... just trying to clear up some misinformation being thrown around. They dont make them in house
Unless I'm mistaken, Curtis is having their actions manufactured in Texas.
But I don't currently have a whole lot of insight into their operations.
I'm honestly not surprised that either company is outsourcing the manufacturing. It's a HUGE capital expense to purchase the machines to do your own work.
Depends on Vector or Axiom. Then your statement is correct. 2 are made at one place and 1 is made at another. But all are here in PA

Didn't Curtis used to be manufactured in Utah?
At 49:10 of the PRM Podcast they get into the discussion of what is made “in house”. That’s where the information came from. I guess that could be left up to interpretation, but it would lead me to believe the only work subcontracted is the Firing Pin and Firing Pin Spring.
Sounds like that is not the case and they are still some Curtis ties?
I don’t personally have a problem with Curtis, as clearly some guys are very happy with their actions.

Ok. He just called me.... I've said what I said and stand by it. You can be a friend and advisor all you want. As of 2 weeks ago they were being made at Warwick Tool here in PA. That's directly from the owner himself. Sounds like I have more information then you think or know. You want a sworn notirized statement from the owner of Warwick Tool? Lolol.

I’ve looked through all these pages and I swear someone had posted at some point all the different companies that make prefit barrels for the Helios and Zeus, but I can’t find that info.

DMR (Dane Miller Rifles) in Vegas are also making pre-fits. I am having a couple done by them soon!
I’m glad I found this thread. I’m a newbie and had this in my cart. I’m waiting on a new credit card before I pull the trigger.
PVA has Vector barrels which is the same thread. No option to pick full thread or set screw so you may have to call and ask.

DMR will ship within days and can do shouldered or set screw. Customer service second to none.
I went with Straight Jacket Armory. Received one bbl from them for a TL3 and it shoots fantastic. They've just shipped out 2 more bbls for me for the Zeus. One in 6.5CM and recent order for a 6mm GT. All 3 bbls are Proof Competition Contour, so it takes awhile to get in stock for them, however all 3 bbls were complete within their quoted time. They are also using Benchmark bbls.
Two barrels from Straight Jacket Armory. Zero issues, great service (both Proof stainless) They do take about 6-8 weeks, though.
Didn’t know DMR was doing Zeus/Vectors. Another nice option!

Gonna have to mess with mine more, but over an hour messing with mag lips and 60rnds of ammo in an XLR chassis and my zues is feeding like shit.
Rear of the rounds dipping and so far no amount of mag lip tweaking has worked.
Aw mag seems like it will work with some trimming of the mag catch.

Have you messaged Joel? Im sure he would be happy to assist you with any trouble shooting. His customer service is second to none.
I will. But still posting my experiences here.
So that anyone running the same combo will know what to expect. I’m sure it will work out eventually.
Are you having trouble running aics mags?
My Zeus ran aics and arc mags flawlessly. Only tried the aw mags once and had some hiccups. Will try tweeting them when I get a chance because I’d prefer to run aw but so far the aics and arc are running with no issues.

May or may not be for nothing, but I’ve seen a few people with different mags/action combos not be able to run the GT without issue.
Guy in my squad at the Fianle was running a 6GT and had feeding issues all weekend.
He’s switched to a 6CM for this season.
He was running a deviant and tried AICS, AW, and MDT mags all weekend with no luck. His deviant feeds the 6CM out of an AW nicely now.
Runs pretty well with my lone peak in the same chassis.
Will have to see what tweaking it ends up taking.
Yea I’m starting to think the GT is picky with certain mag/action combos for whatever reason. Just based on what I’ve seen at different matches.
Hopefully you can get it figured out. Do you have a different caliber for the Zeus just to see if it’ll feed that?
I was beginning to think the same when simple tweaking of the mag lips didn’t fix the issue.
No other barrel at the moment. But I’ll look into one if I don’t get the 6gt running.
If you hold an aw mag up tight to the receiver it seems to feed well. So I’ll get an extra mag catch to file down and see how it goes with that.
The MDT's were horrible, kept nose diving with full mag. Wouldn't feed at all. With the AM I had one hiccup. With Magul, I only had 2 dummy rounds to try and both went smoothly. Would need a full mag to really see if there are issues.
The MDT's fed my 6.5CM fine (a little stiff with a full mag), COAL is long enough to not cause issues.
In my case, it’s the rear of the case diving. And no amount of opening the lips fixes it 100%.
Lone peak runs perfectly. I may put the terminus up in the PX. I’m finding I prefer the lone peak in general. Nothing wrong with terminus.
@Dthomas3523 , is it difficult for you to load the last round with the MDT mags? Seems the short body makes it real tough with the one I have.
I think I’ve only loaded 10 for now. But it gets tight around 10
Is there a lot of play in the magazine when you lock it in and pull down vs when you push up on it? I saw you mention the AW seemed to work with upward pressure, was wondering if the same applied to the AICS. I also read somewhere that the Terminus had a ledge to prevent over-insertion of AICS, can you confirm if this is the case (Although fixing over-insertion doesn't help much if it doesn't feed anymore).
No. It’s not a seating issue.
AW mags almost always need the mag catch either shortened or lengthend.
The zues does have a ledge that prevents the over insertion that was a problem with Curtis.
Are most of you ordering the full thread option or the quick change? Can you still full thread a barrel on even if you ordered the quick change one?
I know I have to specify which type of threads I want on a prefit barrel when ordering but that’s where my knowledge stops on that

Yes, you can still torque on the pre-fit bbl even if you ordered the quick change Zeus. Just make sure you order it as torqued.
For example, on Straight Jacket Armory's Pre-Fit page, you can choose, full thread torqued, hand tight, or torqued.
Thinking I might as well order the quick change action then to always have that ability

The zeus action itself only comes in two ways, either
- quick change or
- full threads

Does anyone know if a barrel threaded for quick change threads but torqued will work on a full thread?
Switch barrel tenon will not fit on Full threaded Version (as is).....Switch barrel version will accept both.
On fully threaded Zeus the threads are all the way through the recoil lug section.. meaning it either has to be fully threaded to shoulder or recess leftovers need to be cut below threads..
Just got my 308 barrel from StraightJacket. Took off my 6 Creed, spun on the 308 and shot the below pic. .478” group with the first 5 rounds of 175 FGMM. Didn’t even clean it before shooting it.
