Wife imparted this story over dinner last night, about the brother of a co-worker.

The guy is mid 50's.
He's a bit of a nut over police stuff and a big gun collector.

Some nosy neighbors had been observing a good number of college kids coming and going from his place and thought maybe he was dealing out of his house.
Turns out he wasn't. Just liked hanging out with the kids and shit. Nothing weird.

Cops pulled a warrant.

They found the guns and all of police stuff, badges, scanners, patches, tac gear, etc.
Zero drugs. Zero contraband of any kind, except one home made unlicensed can.

They tried to pin all kinds of terrorism shit on him, but ultimately all the guns checked out clean and they had no real evidence that he was going to do anything at all.

That would have been the end of it, but for that one solvent trap.
Now he's in fed lockup awaiting trial and could pull ten years.

Like I said, that's third or fourth hand info, but it's something to think about if you're one of those folks who are so inclined to DIY.

Don’t mess with illegal NFA stuff. The bar on legal NFA stuff is low. Messing with things that $200 on a form 1 make things okey dokey, is retarded.

Pay the cheap tax. Lobby for repeal of NFA and the HPA and repeal of the Hughes amendment. Don’t violate them!!!

Sirhr

Lane makes a great Ti/stainless can for ~$600 so $800 otd.

$800 to stay out of bubbas rape corner in the shower room?

Priceless.......

Dude... if oyu have a budy that's a dealer... they were $200.00 at dealer cost.... I picked up 3 YHM cans for $1000 last year including the tax stamp. (My buddy gave me one for free...)

Waited 9 months for the paperwork to come back.

It was a great deal.

Going down 10 for a pipe with baffles.
We should be ashamed we've let them come this far under the "law".

R

Yes. Which is absolutely asinine if you look at it from an objective standpoint.

Pay your tax like a good citizen, give us all of your information so we know exactly who you are and what you're affiliated with. Wait a few months until we decide it's okay for you to go pick up your property from the FFL. You also better be sure your paperwork is in order when we ask for it.....

I'm waiting for someone to get nailed for one of those oil filter adapters.... That's technically a can...

Was at a gun show a couple years back. Someone broke out a case of them and were selling them, and a frenzy started around his table. One of my co workers came over afterward and was proud as a peacock that he bought a few of them, asked me if i got any. My reply kinda ruined his day....”dont you realize that you are on camera buying those?” My theory is, if it even close to the line, nope! Same same with bump stocks and “arm braces” on “pistols”. No. Fucking. Way.

I prefer single shots anyway.

I assume it was the suspicion of dealing to the kids. Like I said, I'm down the line on the info chain.

The point is that the cops could come to your house for a myriad of reasons, and if you have something lying around...
And Those cops are piece of shit enforcers fro the oligharchy class. That oath must mean nothing to them.

All the time in the world to tax and harrass the tax slave. Zero time for property crimes etc.

All the unsolved rapes assaults and thefts but plenty of time for traffic extortion and stuff like harassing a person that isn't affecting anyone else.

You guys are nuts that blindly support them. They are going to be the ones coming for your firearms and wealth when the commies gain more power in a few years.

So, I hope nobody takes this the wrong way. They will get over it.

I'm a huge supporter of our military and law enforcement officers, however, if you think that they are immune from being infiltrated by thugs or sociopaths....you're delusional.

Not all LEO's or .mil types are "gun guys" per say.

Sending some dude to the pen for ten years over a makeshift can is tyranny at it's core. Ruining someone's life over nothing. Bet they felt operator as fuck though.

dont ever question the authorities,,,,ever

Those “oil filter adapters” are going to backfire on all of us sooner or later.

Someone is making a few bucks being “cute” and in the end will end up getting the HPA shitcanned... and maybe even the NFA strengthened.

Because someone is going to do something stupid with one. And we will be back to the “all silencers are evil” mentality that we have been stuck with for almost 90 years.

For the morons making/selling them to line their pockets, hope you are happy if you end up screwing us all for a few bucks.

Sirhr

I don't think that was the thought process.
I think they saw the guns, the police stuff, and they overreacted and called in the feds on that level.
It's sad, but pay attention to the news. Anyone with more than a couple of guns these days is generally thought to be a threat to society and likely planning "something big".
The MSM has been delivering that message for a while.
The sheep forget that it is almost always just another wing nut.

But i thought we wanted to be just like other countries. that means suppressors aren't bad.

We are so close to getting suppressors mainstreamed... out of the doghouse so to speak... I just have a feeling that those adapter things are going to be used in some incident... that will mess up everything.

There is no good reason for suppressors to be on NFA list. In most countries you walk into sports shop and buy one cash and carry. They cut down on noise complaints and hearing issues. France virtually requires them.

But the anti 2a crowd is now trying to punish gun owners and drive wedges in the community. It’s a hot button issue and any of these socialist tards who can find a new little angle to go after shooting sports... Is going to try.

I get free enterprise and all, but sometimes I thing that the folks who say “I can make an adapter for a ‘muffler’ and you can buy it for your ‘308 lawn mower’ (nudge nudge wink wink)” are going to ruin the whole effort to mainstream a technology we should have made available generations ago.

And if that happens, I hope they choke on their profits.

Isn't just some basic thread adapter that's widely available at most hardware stores? Jesus Christ, it's not rocket science. It's one thread adapted to another.

The fudds will fuck us over longer before some democrat decides to shoot up a place with an adapter.

Their deer guns will be safe though...

Their deer guns will be safe though...

No, they won't. A bolt action with a scope will be an evil sniper rifle.

A model 94 will be a High-Power Rifle.

A shotgun will be a street-sweeper or a trench broom.

The Fudds aren't our problem. In fact, I am a Fudd.

The problem is communists, masquerading as Democrats. They will make no distinction between a minigun and a slingshot... as long as an armed society might oppose their oligarchy.

In greatest respect,

Sirhr
