The AR15 Picture Thread

I’ve had good results with the AAC 77gr precision ammo.
It was pretty meh in those two rifles today, at 100 it was .90" in the Mock 12 and 1.08" in the SPRecce, not great not terrible. It was stupid slow though, 2485 in the Mock 12 and 2400 in the SPRecce, I was kinda hoping for some more velocity out of it and the ES and SD's were not awe inspiring either.

I did this at 200 yards in mine. The 5th round above was all me as I had to makes a slight adjustment and accidentally sent it. The middle hole of the 3 is 2 rounds. Haven’t checked velocity in it though and I may do that next time as these looked a little low compared to where they should be.

Bit the bullet and decided to give the 22ARC a try for a new yote and hog gun. Got in on an APF group buy at the LGS and grabbed APF DMR 2.0. Being me I had to go with a weird ass color, Blood Orange! Added a few bits that the factory parts lacked like a TT Diamond 2-stage, Radian Talon (The factory abomination is 90 degree and two inches long.) , and a DFCO Kung Fu grip and took it for it's first spin last weekend. Quite the shooter and the adjustable gas block they "forgot" to install arrived today so tomorrow is tuning and a little more tweaking on the zero.

Really pleased with how this 11.5 do-all is evolving. Thinking about having the barrel dimpled and swapping the can out for a B&T Print XH to drop weight out of the front end.

I still need to see some more detailed information to see if there's any merit to this or not (though it does make sense), but I've been reading that dimpling barrels that have already been finished can dramatically weaken them. I know fluting has been a thing for a long time but I'd venture to guess that it's been on barrels with a much lower demand than a short AR. I think they look fantastic so I hope that's not the case as I've heavily considered it for my 14.5" rifle.

Took a little longer than anticipated but all of my projects do.

250 gr Scenar @ 1060fps. 9.1 gr VV N110. Quiet with suppressor as expected. Feeds well. Ready to stretch it out for groups.

Thank you,

Not really an ar15, closest to a DPMS g2 pattern, Ruger SFAR 8.6 blackout SBR. Holosun DRS TH, magpul irons, noveske handguard, SA gas block, Q porq chop, mos-tek barrel, radian sd, law folding stock adapter. Second build really for me ever, so go easy on me.

Added a spacer to this optics setup allowing me to swing the magnifier down to the 3rd position and completely out of my FOV. Pretty slick setup. Whole thing is mounted on a single QD and I can still keep standard BUIS underneath. Debating if I would be better served with an LPVO or not given the weight is really not that much different.

Both setups will work, but a LPVO w/top mount will give you better eye relief all around and a 1x option in case your dot goes down. Weight is somewhat close between the 2. I have an Aimpoint M68/3x combo that I took off of my 11.5 when I put the LPVO on it and the weight is roughly the same as far as I can tell. Like I said though, I get better eye relief with the LPVO, and it’s not an expensive LPVO either.

Nice, how is that MK Machining pistol grip, how does is compare to say a BCM Gunfighter MOD3?

Love it. Driven Arms absolutely nailed it with pulling in Shadow 2 ergos and having MK manufacture it. I'd say it's my favorite pistol grip to date. I prefer to the likes of BCM, HK, Magpul, B5, Reptilia, and Ergo. To me it's near perfect. I think my only callout, and it's definitely nitpicking, is that the texture could be a little more aggressive. Aside from that, man it's damn near perfect imo.

16” mid length criterion core 223 Wylde 1:8 barrel with bcm bolt, bcm demo upper, bcm ambi CH, Magpul furniture, SOLGW lower + LPK, LaRue MBT flat trigger, talon safety, KAK handguard, and T-rex sling. Still need to get an optic and some BUIS. Leaning towards an eotech 518 or the new primary arms glx red dot with QD t1 mount.
