The shift isn't from loading the bipod, as I understand the complaint, its from a ∆ in downward force simply from changing the location of the forward rest or a GC or anything else. For example say the bipod starts being used near End of the forearm vs the middle of the forearm...voila zero shift.
The problem with PRS context... is the shooting bag.
Not only is it necessary for PRS, but It is pretty much always best to balance the bipod is best to have at the end of the forearm, and the GC near the middle of the riflfe, in front of the magwell (on the Centre of Gravity).
If that's true, as you swap positions eg between prone or modified prone and positional shots using a GC, you would have an honest to god zero shift in the middle of stages, ie a mechanical zero 'shift' or anomaly.
The proposed explanation was (possible?) something to do with the forearm's mechanical qualities. As in guys were complaining about this withs semi-auto ARs and then saying the MRAD did the same thing (or whatever).
I have no idea if this is true, but that's the theory of the case If I understand it correctly. I'd also be glad to be corrected if its mistaken...
