i just did that again last night, and i will do that again tonight when agent k, gets here...
tell me that aint fun
i think im going to try scallops also
i sho nuff do, where you been? lol
Traeger Thighs the other night. 7, salt n peppa, and Jamaica Me. Great bite to them. Pretty little buggers ain't they?
@oneshot86 @bogeybrown You two are a pair to draw to. That's nothing short of pure unadulterated "AWESOME". And yes, that will do a nice job on scallops. Mmmmmmmm scallops.

Dayyum those look purty. As a devoted stick burner I view the Traeger as heretical witchcraft, but I sure can't argue with your results. Some memories from my visit are a little fuzzy, but I think I remember @oneshot86 discussing picking up a Traeger to play around on.
Thx Brother, and I have to agree. The Traeger is really grilling for Dummies, and I approve this message. Can't imagine why any fuzzy memories. You guy's have too much fun, almost. I think Mike would seriously enjoy a Traeger or the Big Green Egg, or any of the new BBQ's out there. We'll see.
Despite his endless supply of firewood, a Traeger would probably be great for Mike. That dude never slows down so a smoker that's doing it's own work while he runs around makes a lot of sense, as it does for most sane people. I'm just one of those idiots that likes being chained to a smoker for hours on end doing it the hard way.
^^^What my detention minded friend says is true. It is smoking/indirect heat cookin' for dummies. While it doesn't replace the pit masters out there, it does make this style of cooking more available to an audience with a wider range of skills. Myself, friends, and a number of coworkers are getting into something they probably never would have otherwise. I can tell you it makes a LOT better watercooler conversation than a lot of other topics.
Knowing how much 'Squatch just loves him some icky, nasty, snot-burger lookin' wiggly sashimi ...
I still can't believe he passed up BK and went for the Hot n' Juicy instead.
lol I've had raw 'Clam' before. And I'm not seeking out anymore of that Fast Food Fare. Unless it's a Filet-O-FIsh. Still can't quit them.
Gotta love times shared with the youngsters.Alrighty @Mike 556 Like I said in the "What's Your View II" thread regarding your awesome outting/meal, it's not on par, but it's what we had for my youngest's 4/20 BDay over in Astoria.
Started off with a nice bottle of Merlot from a Washington Vineyard. It was excellent !! Of course our two Son's were 7 mins tardy due to work so Mom and I got the party started in their absence.

After Pete and Repeat showed up we enjoyed a couple orders of fresh WIllapa Bay Oyster Shooter's. Absolutely delectable.

First Bottle of Merlot was good enough we decided to get another for the main course. Birthday Boy went for the Pan Seared fresh Halibut. I'm surprised he didn't order another after the first one. It was excellent, and we're hella critical of seafood.

Mom was craving their Fish n Chips since in our opinion's it's hands down thee best around.

Eldest Son and I both had the New York w/grilled Prawns, Med/Rare. Only problem was both our steaks were Medium to Well. Our Waiter came by as we were both looking at our first cuts into them and of course asked "How is everything"?. He knew right off the bat. Very politely we said we're struggling with the Steaks. He took a look and we stated we could eat them, but it's not what we ordered and he agreed. He said we want you to be happy, may I bring you two more done as ordered? We said no, just one will be fine and we'll split it since we had both taken a couple bites outta ours just before he showed up to 'test' them. We all felt better meeting half way since really almost one half of each of our steaks was passable. Weird how they cooked so unevenly. Anyhow, all good.

Waiter stated they wanted to buy us desert (I don't eat sweets or deserts) so Mom n Boyz enjoyed theirs n coffee. Both the Boys got carded so the Waiter knew it was our youngest's BDay and brought him a special little desert.

Decided to toss some gutter balls and have a few pitchers before hitting a couple bars and a bit o gambling. Everyone came out between $150-$200 bucks up, except Dad. I never win squat.
Great time and looking forward to spending time with those guys again when we all have an open schedule at the same time, which is rare, like the steak shoulda been.

Hit a great little neighborhood Italian joint in Boston's North End: Mother Anna's. They've been there 84 years.

The owner promised that they had the best sauce around, and he was right, along with amazing prices. I had the Seafood Fra Diavolo, which was that heaping bowl of linguine in front, with massive jumbo shrimp, clams, mussels, and sea scallops, for $15!!! At that price they're doing well to break even on it. The missus had the cheese ravioli, which at most places tends to be lackluster, but theirs was exceptional.

Here's a "leftover" from the Boston trip. Cuban sammich from All Star Sandwich Shop in Cambridge. I give them credit for roasting their own pork

Looks damn good @Mike 556 . Anyone give ya crap for wanting to take some pics first? Family and friends are like "What, you some kind of Foodie meow".
