Thx guys. Very kind of ya. She's absolutely amazing. Met at Shinagawa Station in Tokyo on a blind date my Chief set up for me while I was going through divorce of all things. My ole lady couldn't keep her pants on during WestPac. Last thing I was looking for was a relationship. She was the Personal Secretary for Foreign Affairs to the Labor Minister of Japan. She was the first Filipina to work for the Diet. One of her older sisters (also staunch Catholic) ran the JCC in Tokyo. Yep, The Jewish Community Center. So I get out of the Nav in 90, go back to Japan. Move in with the Congressman and his Wife and my future Wife. Go to work for the man. So we have an American and a Filipina in Japan having their reception at the JCC and our witnesses on our marriage certificate and guests are the U.S. Ambassador Michael Armacost and Ambassador Dogon-Yaro of Nigeria. The book I could write. What a story.

Now then, in keeping with the OP, on my travels yesterday I decided to go cray cray and try something I haven't had for something like 14-15 yrs. I eat pretty damn good and rarely eat fast food. And I mean rarely. It's actually pretty easy since I live in the sticks. We ain't got no fast food places. One restraunt and 2 gas stations. That's pretty much it. Gawd I love this place. Anyhow, there I am outta my element in the big city of Aberdeen, apparently the Gateway to the Olympics.

Of course I thought of @sirhrmechanic immediately when I noticed the Canon. ;) Then I seen the Red Haired Girl in Pigtails and thought, I haven't had that for a long long time, Wendy's that is.

1523381370456.png

Walked thru the door at 1140 and there was only 2 other people in there and the corner booth so as to have back to wall was open. It's a habit. :sneaky:
So they hand me my cup since apparently you have to pour your own soda now and I make my way over to this contraption that has some kinda video poker look to it

1523381624467.png

I've honestly never seen on of these before and I'm just standing there staring at the fucking thing trying to figure out where the quarter goes and where's the handle to spin the fucking wheels. I'm thinking I better figure this shit out pretty fucking quick cuz this place is gonna fill up mosh skosh with a ton of people. Then it happens. A Mother and Daughter come up along side of me and I'm fumbling around trying to get some ice and sprite outta this gawd damn thing. What a pain in the ass !! I finally figure it out while the line forming to my right is remaining patient while the guy with the gun on his hip is trying to master the soda fountain. I hate going to town. I really do.

1523382227679.png

As expected just like I thought and just like Micky D's and the rest of this shit I had to crap like a banshee soon after. :ROFLMAO::LOL:

I feel your pain @1J04 , the first time I encountered one of those video poker soda machines I was mesmerized, but it was the keeper of my sacred Dr Pepper, so I had to figure out how to negotiate with the fucker.

This was a late night snack @oneshot86 threw together while I was there. Jumbo shrimp grilled over a chimnea while we took turns plinking chem lights in the rain with a Marlin 39

Delicious!!!

Traeger Thighs the other night. 7, salt n peppa, and Jamaica Me. Great bite to them. Pretty little buggers ain't they?

@oneshot86 @bogeybrown You two are a pair to draw to. That's nothing short of pure unadulterated "AWESOME". And yes, that will do a nice job on scallops. Mmmmmmmm scallops. :)

Dayyum those look purty. As a devoted stick burner I view the Traeger as heretical witchcraft, but I sure can't argue with your results. Some memories from my visit are a little fuzzy, but I think I remember @oneshot86 discussing picking up a Traeger to play around on.

Thx Brother, and I have to agree. The Traeger is really grilling for Dummies, and I approve this message. ;) Can't imagine why any fuzzy memories. You guy's have too much fun, almost. ;) I think Mike would seriously enjoy a Traeger or the Big Green Egg, or any of the new BBQ's out there. We'll see. (y)

Despite his endless supply of firewood, a Traeger would probably be great for Mike. That dude never slows down so a smoker that's doing it's own work while he runs around makes a lot of sense, as it does for most sane people. I'm just one of those idiots that likes being chained to a smoker for hours on end doing it the hard way.

^^^What my detention minded friend says is true. It is smoking/indirect heat cookin' for dummies. While it doesn't replace the pit masters out there, it does make this style of cooking more available to an audience with a wider range of skills. Myself, friends, and a number of coworkers are getting into something they probably never would have otherwise. I can tell you it makes a LOT better watercooler conversation than a lot of other topics.

Exactly what I thought regarding a Traeger 'style' dealy bob for him. As you know it can getter pretty much all dundy for our Honey Badger Brother while he kicks the ever loving shit outta everything around his AO.

Knowing how much 'Squatch just loves him some icky, nasty, snot-burger lookin' wiggly sashimi ...

I still can't believe he passed up BK and went for the Hot n' Juicy instead.

lol I've had raw 'Clam' before. And I'm not seeking out anymore of that Fast Food Fare. Unless it's a Filet-O-FIsh. Still can't quit them.

A lesser 'Squatch would have gotten frustrated and blown the soda machine away in a fit of Sprite-lust fueled rage.

And that Filet-o-Fish thing? Damn, man, you're on a greased board to retirement.

Just think how much gas you're gonna go through making that board meeting at the Golden Arches.

Alrighty @Mike 556 Like I said in the "What's Your View II" thread regarding your awesome outting/meal, it's not on par, but it's what we had for my youngest's 4/20 BDay over in Astoria. ;)

Started off with a nice bottle of Merlot from a Washington Vineyard. It was excellent !! Of course our two Son's were 7 mins tardy due to work so Mom and I got the party started in their absence.

1524412301983.png

After Pete and Repeat showed up we enjoyed a couple orders of fresh WIllapa Bay Oyster Shooter's. Absolutely delectable.

1524412445620.png

First Bottle of Merlot was good enough we decided to get another for the main course. :giggle: Birthday Boy went for the Pan Seared fresh Halibut. I'm surprised he didn't order another after the first one. It was excellent, and we're hella critical of seafood.

1524412720969.png

Mom was craving their Fish n Chips since in our opinion's it's hands down thee best around.

1524412854827.png

Eldest Son and I both had the New York w/grilled Prawns, Med/Rare. Only problem was both our steaks were Medium to Well. Our Waiter came by as we were both looking at our first cuts into them and of course asked "How is everything"?. He knew right off the bat. Very politely we said we're struggling with the Steaks. He took a look and we stated we could eat them, but it's not what we ordered and he agreed. He said we want you to be happy, may I bring you two more done as ordered? We said no, just one will be fine and we'll split it since we had both taken a couple bites outta ours just before he showed up to 'test' them. :sneaky: We all felt better meeting half way since really almost one half of each of our steaks was passable. Weird how they cooked so unevenly. Anyhow, all good.

1524413469214.png

Waiter stated they wanted to buy us desert (I don't eat sweets or deserts) so Mom n Boyz enjoyed theirs n coffee. Both the Boys got carded so the Waiter knew it was our youngest's BDay and brought him a special little desert.

1524413699703.png

Decided to toss some gutter balls and have a few pitchers before hitting a couple bars and a bit o gambling. Everyone came out between $150-$200 bucks up, except Dad. I never win squat.
Great time and looking forward to spending time with those guys again when we all have an open schedule at the same time, which is rare, like the steak shoulda been. :ROFLMAO:

Hit a great little neighborhood Italian joint in Boston's North End: Mother Anna's. They've been there 84 years.

IMG_2358.JPG

The owner promised that they had the best sauce around, and he was right, along with amazing prices. I had the Seafood Fra Diavolo, which was that heaping bowl of linguine in front, with massive jumbo shrimp, clams, mussels, and sea scallops, for $15!!! At that price they're doing well to break even on it. The missus had the cheese ravioli, which at most places tends to be lackluster, but theirs was exceptional.

Don't forget Hitler. lmfao And a host of others. And yes, love nothing more than sharing time with them guys. We're lucky to be a very close knit family and they're just across the river so that works out pretty good. Happy belated my friend to your SIL, and please, be good in the crews absence.

Thanks for the kind words buddy. And have a great Sunday. ;)

That looks absolutely NOM Brother !!! $15 Bucks? US? Son of a bitch. How in thee hell can they do that? Seriously. I'm not a huge Italian fan, but I can't lie. I'd give both of those a whirl and possibly order seconds.

Hope you're having a good trip man. Enjoy your time !!!

Hit the market for some veggies, cheeses, meats, etc. This is the Haymarket, directly next to the Boston Public Market. The Public Market is yuppie hell with overpriced everything. The Haymarket, just steps away, is literally 1/10th the price for basically everything, but the yuppies just sneer and walk past I think because it's filled with brown people of all origins screaming and hawking their wares.

Looks damn good @Mike 556 . Anyone give ya crap for wanting to take some pics first? :ROFLMAO: Family and friends are like "What, you some kind of Foodie meow". :p

Fred said, this is the second time You took a picture of our food, you realize only fudge packers take pictures of food! The more scotch we drank the nastier he got! I took a pretty good grilling last night:) one of his better lines was " you know food is meant to be consumed, not posed for some fag ass photos" I was pleased to keep the table laughing the entire night! I have another good friend, he lives to eat and has taken pictures of food for years. And for years I have tormented him about it. I guess it's my turn in the barrel, but as long as we all keep laughing, it's all good! :)

A start to mothers day lunch. Not sure I'm up to par with some of you guys but I've been having pretty good luck with this thing. Thanks to all the advice and recommendations from the cooks here. 6 racks of baby backs were seasoned last night and half will be sauced, half dry. Ribs, fried chicken and crabs for mothers day around lunchtime.
