The theory of "everyone is infected but doesn't turn until death" is an interesting one. I could see some bug that is dormant or suppressed by the immune system until time of death. Once you are gone, the nasty little bug begins reanimating you.

Don't any of ya'll remember the helicopter that Rick saw in the first season. It was when he was riding the horse through the city, got surrounded by the horde and had to get in the tank. Also, when the very first episode aired. They were in the pursuit, had the shootout and Rick got shot. What was one of the last things they showed????? The dead birds laying on the road. Possibly an airborne virus as well, maybe it moves like the flu. Physical contact transfers the flu, sneezing, and caughing. You can be in a crowd of people that have the flu and you may or may not get it. However, the flu can also lay dormant in your system until triggered by something and then you get sick. I'm thinking the "virus" can be caused by transmission through blood. Which would encompass bites, injestion, transferrel through bodily fluids(eyes, mouth), and now airborne(maybe). However, with the most recent events such as not finding any bit marks. That would me it is naturally evolving. There is no way it depends on whether you are "sinful" or not, but maybe your natural latent tendencies has some merrit. Anyways, I'm thinking it is some kind of government project now mutated gone bad. Yeah, I put way to much thought into this but the show is great. I'm so glad Shane is gone.

I actually liked how they handled Shane's death better in the TV show than the comic. The comic also explains the reason people like Shane and Randall become zombies. I won't spoil it as I'm pretty sure that the season finale will explain it (perhaps a little differently, like they did with Shane's death).

I only saw the page in the comic where Shane was killed, and I do agree, Fate. Much better scene in the TV series, minus the bit of Carl showing up without being seen... AGAIN!

Was thinking the same thing after the scientist at the CDC whispered something in Ricks ear before they left. I was thinking he either said that it was a bio bug that got out of their control (with no known cure) or it was in the yearly shots like the flu that they didn't see coming. Maybe an explanation to why so many people became infected so quick. Either way I hope there's some explanation to it in the next episode.

The herd of walkers is on the way. I wonder if they are stupid enough to try to make a stand in the house or if they all head out. It looks like to me if they have a swarm of less than 100 they could lure them to the mud and take their time. If it is a larger herd then they need some way to contain them while they pick them off.
Most likely they leave the farm and the prison is the next stop.

Yea, there's definitely some dumb shit that has happened in the show. Sometimes I think subconsciously I try not to notice so I can enjoy it more.

Seriously. Screw the tanks and such- gas hogs.
But I would think with all the time they apparently spent at the first campsite practically right next to the city, they could have scrounged up a couple technicals (not to mention all the stuff at the CDC)
Or at least a better RV....

I'm honestly kind of bummed Shane is dead. Yes, he was a psychotic asshole.
BUT he had this canny knack for making the calls that everyone else spent to much time whining over. Like the zombies in the barn- a little wacko the way he handled that, but at the same time it was like DUH! Enough BS'ing around already. (Especially after the girl darn near got ate at the drugstore you'd think they would have come to this themselves...At least Hershel[sp?] seems to have come to his senses)
Ah well- guess there wasn't room in the story for two badasses, what with Daryl[?] still hanging around.
Speaking of which, I'm thinking his pistol was a High-power. At least that was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it.

On an overall note- the title could be double meaning- "The Walking Dead".....
I'm staring to wonder if everyone is already infected, it just takes something specific to set it off.
At least, that could partially explain going farther and farther off the deep end.
And that kid they captured seemed to really be going at those cuffs. Granted if I knew someone was going to shoot me I'd probably be doing the same. But they seemed to emphasise that...
But something else is definately going on. I smell a black helicopter Gov. conspiracy incoming.

Also I'll bet Maggie is going to die next episode.

Yeah, they definately passed up some good stuff at the cdc and their first campsite. I have to overlook that though. Otherwise I find myself yelling at the tv. Like when rick and shane were walking through the woods, I was yelling "shoot him"(meaning shoot shane). For pete sake, he walked behind him forever. Just let that big cannon eat Rick! Something is going to go down for sure. That many walkers, yeah something going to happen for sure. I'm thinking the black guy and his son from the first season are going to turn up at some point. I think he knows way more than they let on for those couple of episodes. Maybe next season, if there is one. The virus will adapt and jump to animals. However, they are going to have to end it at some point. It will be a great season finale when that happens.

Obviously everyone who dies with an intact brain is going to be a walker. If you get bit you die from the infection and then become a walker. If you die from something else you still become a walker.

Nobody can explain the lack of battlefield pickups. .223 and 9mm are all over the place. No reason to have anything else. Everyone should be carrying a glock or beretta 9mm and a M4. I would not bother with frags or crew served weapons or saws. I would have my 6.5X47L for long range shooting when traveling. Easing up onto an overpass and seeing an ambush at the next interchange, just take them out before you move on.

Staying too long at the farm is going to bite them in the ass. They are going to panic and instead of using heavy equipment to buy time, they are going to leave in a panic with no supplies and the last scene of the season is them driving in the jeep looking scared and bummed out. All of us thinking what assholes they were for not getting their shit together. Glenn and Maggie and Rick will be OK. Not sure about Carl, his mom or her baby or Hershal.

They need an NCO with small combat unit training.

What's been bugging me for some time is the title. Specifically the order of the wording in the title. When the show starts you see "The" followed by "Dead" then "Walking" so it reads The Dead Walking rather than The Walking Dead.
Not sure if it means anything or if it's significant. Any thoughts or do i I have too much time on my hands and over analyzing this?

I don't understand why you don't just find any multi-story building... break the stairs (literally knock down the first level of stairs - use rope ladders for ingress/egress). Haul dirt up to the roof, plant crops, live happy. Zombies can't climb.

That's what I think I would be doing too. As long as you took out the first two or so floors with access you could just lock up and live in all of the above floors with the high ground advantage. It's much more easily defended than simply being out in the forest or on a ranch. Sorta like the dad and daughter did in 28 days later.

Damn good end to a good second season. I have not read the comics so i did not know who the girl pulling the zombies was, until the talk show afterwards.
I wonder if everyone was infected through vaccines given in youth? It would be really hard to infect everyone otherwise. Can't wait for season 3!

I think that was a pretty good ending to a season that started off slow as hell. Now if they had picked up some gear from the CDC they could have defended the farm with more than a floppy dick defense.

So now we know that they're all infected but what about the baby? Is the baby cool or a zombie that's going to eat her out from the inside. 'and do the people in the castle/prison know that everyone is infected?

Hopefully we wont have to wait forever like we did last time for the 3rd season.

The problem I see with that. Is if the nasty gaurd had come in and gotten mowed down by the zombies. There would be enough weapons on the ground for even the Flag officers to have M4s lol. Using non typical ammo like 6.5 x47 would be silly unless your in the EU where you can pick some up from the local store. 223 would be great along with some luger ammo. While head shots with a 308 would be sick, carrying that much ammo in 308 gets fuckin heavy. I would rather use 223 on the undead lol. Think three gun tac optics ar with surefire suppressor. While I love my 6.5 x 47 It would be a pugal stick in 1000 rounds lol.

The best weapon IMO would be an AR with a 22 LR drop in bolt. 22 cal ammo is readily availablr and you can carry 2k rounds much easier than 2k of 556. Put a CAN on it so you don't attract to much attention when putting down the roué walker here and there. In a pinch you can flip over to 556 if you need to reach out a bit farther or battle the undead.

Looks like next season is going to be more siege warfare, going back old school to high stone walls and swords.

Def good show. My only gripe was the blonde making repeated head shots with a handgun while hanging out the window of a moving truck.... i mean come on! A shotgun is a little more believable, just lead those zombie pumpkins like shooting skeet. It really was a turkey shoot though.

Rick def had his say so. But he could have practiced a little better firearms safety, he was waving that gun at everyone even his own kid and wife. I love that look darryl gave the crazy lady, wtf you ant me to do woman?

Can't wait until season 3, gonna be a good one.

This post was the first thing that ran through my mind once the show started.
I mean, come ON! It's the zombie freakin' apocalypse and you DON"T have a "holy crap we're getting overrun- run away" plan?
No "Bug out" bag?
No predetermined rendevous point?
No freaking gas in the cars?
No set overall plan for defending the farm so you don't HAVE to run away in the first place?

So now they're out in the middle of nowhere, down one vehicle, no gear/food, and no ammo aside from whatever happens to be in the firearm you're carrying IF you have one.
Good job guys.

Also, big WTF moment with the RV- granted I'm almost glad they ditched that monstrosity even though it would be handy right now. But WHY did the guy STOP in front of the barn and all the zombies so Rick and the kid could climb off the back? I mean, couldn't they have just sat on the roof while he simply drove away from the zombies?
Of course, I suppose they had to have a semi-plausible write-out for some of the useless characters.....

Also- as someone mentioned their firearm safety skills.... Is it just me, or do they take just about every opportunity to have someone point a shotgun at their face? Geez....

On the plus side, Rick finally found his badass bone.

I was thinking that too. The whole time I'm thinking; "Let me guess, he's gonna shoot a couple and have to reload and one is gonna come up behind him and eat him". That basically happened (with the exception of him being saved by Rick) , but he shot way more than a couple, lol. He must have been hiding a drum mag in there somewhere.
