Tikka T1X

Hey guys - looking for a 17hmr and not sure if it will be better to get the 16 or 20" version. I will be running a can. Any thoughts on if accuracy will be effected by the shorter barrel?

It won't, this has been tested already. The 16" handles odd without a can, but would be awesome with one.

Save yourself the space, weight and having bulkier rifle and go the shorter route. No downsides

I finally broke down and ordered one. It arrived at LGS this morning and I picked up this afternoon.
After a year of shooting it, I really like my RPRR ...but I’m thinking this T1x is going to be waaay easier to shoot in NRL22. Even with the factory stock, it doesn’t feel like it’s fighting you. Might just be me..but the even with the adjustability of the RPRR , it has never felt as good as the Tikka. It just fits better.

I shot mine in my first nrl22 match last weekend and found it did pretty good. I got 14 out of 21 shooters but only 2(including me) were new. Half of the guys I beat had rpr's, and most had been shooting them for a good while. I bought norma match ammo Friday after work, zeroed at 50 with a flashlight on the target, chrono'd with my buddies magnetospeed also in the dark, made up a bc, plugged it into the Hornady app, and shit the match Saturday morning.

It needs a cheek riser bad(56mm scope doesn't help) also I wish I got the 16 instead of the 20. Would be super cool to sbr it and make it like a 12". That would go in and out of barricades super easy with a can.

Try some center x in it. I also highly recommend upgrading the stock to a bravo to fix the cheek height and to give you a flat fore end for barricades

I ordered some today, also SK standard and Eley subsonic. LGS only had supersonic ammo or the norma but Brownells has the other 3 all on sale right now. I ordered a WOOX Furiosa chassis for it (ships mid July) formed a piece of kydex after the match to put on there while I wait. I have a Bravo on my 308 and it's awesome but I couldn't resist an aluminum and wood chassis.

The Woox really intrigues me. When I last looked at it, they didnt have models w DBM. More it looks like they do. I may have to order one....

I got the T3 inlet furiosa and my buddy ordered the 700 sa dbm inlet xactus for a bergara b14r(he had to try to build a non-vudoo that he thinks will beat my tikka) both are supposed to ship mid July so when they show up I'll do a writeup on both of em and I'm going to try to get WOOX to hook me up with a discount code to post with the review on here.

Went to the range this morning to zero after all the recent upgrades. I'm very pleased with the results.

T1x in an Oryx chassis
DIP bolt handle
Jamer Benchrest bag rider
Kaw Valley Precision linear comp
Bushnell Forge 3-18x50 on a DIP 25 MOA rail
Ammo: Eley Semi-auto Benchrest Precision

Those groups were shot back-to-back with a small scope adjustment in between. I figured I'd better stop shooting groups before I screwed it up. 😁

I love this gun in the Oryx for positional shooting.

Did you end up with the Ely semi-auto BR Precision after extensive testing of different ammo?

I think I tested just about everything I could find under $15 /box. Never tried Midas+, Tenex, or the expensive RWS stuff. It shot Center-X really well also. I happened on SA BR Precision by accident - I was putting together a MidwayUSA order and needed a little bit more in the cart to get free shipping. I figured I'd drop another box of 22LR in there to try, and I saw this stuff as I was looking over the options. I'd never heard of it and there wasn't any information available at the time, but it's from Eley so I figured what the hell. The day I took it out to test I shot 5 groups of 5 with it that were similar to this (a little more spread out because of the factory stock) and right there on the range I pulled up MidwayUSA on my phone and ordered 1500 more rounds. They sent me 20 boxes of this lot and 10 boxes of another lot that shoots just as good from this rifle.

Got my T1x together last week and ended up winning our club’s first precision .22 match this weekend. SK rifle match shoots pretty well in it so ordered up a few thousand to keep it running for a bit.

Group is @ 100yds, 1” target.

Is anyone interested in all of the stock parts from a T1X, Magwell, mag catch, bolt knob, factory stock (painted). If so hit me up. If this post is not allowed please delete, just figure someone may want the spare parts so I don't throw them away.

Finally made some time to put my tikka t1x together in 17 hmr. I cut down a Lilja 10/17 barrel, rechambered and threaded the muzzle 1/2-28. McMillan stock, dip scope base and bolt knob.
finished the action and barrel in KG gunkote coyote brown, the other parts Napa green. Nightforce nx8 4-32x50 setting in nightforce rings. I got it sighted in and put 25 rounds through it. 25, 50, and 100 yards

Very nice!

Nice. Is the Evo really 5 pounds?

The strike at just over 2 looks pretty good. Any photos of the T1x in the strike stock?
Yes the Strike Nuke is 5 lb. Not sure what chassis you are talking about at just over 2 lb. The only other models we are offering in the T1X is the Field and Lite Competition. I do not have any pictures yet in this config.

cheers
Ryan

Sorry thought the tundra strike was also available in T1x.... just saw strike in the name and figured it was a go.

Thanks for the fast response

My new rig! Only had one range session so far...shoots awesome! Likes SK Match for sure.

Fit was perfect in the MDT chassis with SCS Lite stock and MDT vertical grip. Mounted a Vortex Crossfire 6-18 on a Warne 1-piece Mount and an Area419 rail. Magpul bipod on the front.

Can’t wait to get back out to the range. Want to shoot some groups with other ammo.

Nice setup, snappy! Having a hard time figuring out which model McMillan stock that is? Have they started doing models specifically for the T1x inlet? or is this a T3/T3x that's been modified?

It’s a McMillan game scout for the t3/t3x action the t1x will fit t3/t3x inlets as long as it’s not the ctr bottom metal

has any lefties shot the bravo with the adjustment knob on the right side? I am thinking of picking one up, but didnt want my cheek jammed in the knob. I am sure that I could just replace it with a set screw and just leave the cheek piece static.

Let me hear from my lefties

just ordered myself a t1x...bravo and accessories...trigger spring...rail...bolt handle....etc..

im going to run a 5-25 Vortex SE on it...and curious about ring height. I had Seekins 0.92" ordered...but i think they'd be too short with the 56mm bell. I ordered some UTG Pro mediums to run now...anyone else had this scope on their gun yet?

I have the Vortex PMR 1.1 rings and it fits great with the same scope you're looking at.

Please help me out with this one. New T1x. Haven’t fired it yet.

I pulled the bolt out, held it in two hands and twisted it to see what would happen basically. It clicked into a new position and now I cannot insert the bolt back in the rifle.

Any ideas?
