Tikka T3 Thread

Bought a tikka several months ago. Shot lights out. Decided to sell to fund another build and regretting it deeply. Lesson learned in not selling off rifles. Looking to add another one down the road. Don't think I would go with any other factory action at this point.

Think I finally found a load for my .223 Varmint. I’m pretty sure I need to clean up my technique a little bit. 100yds 5 rounds

My new long range rifle project - just finished assembling. Goal is to shoot highest BC .224 bullets through 223 brass to 1000 yards plus reduce wear on 6.5CM rifle without going to exotic brass or high cost.

Tikka T3X Varmint 223, 1-8, local gunsmith MOSS FIREARMS threaded 5/8x24
KRG Bravo stock in appropriate Sako Green - thanks cattleman!
Area 419 adapter and brake (fits my modified AAC 762SD also)
MDT 223 magazine
Burris XTRII 5-25x50 SCR MIL FFP scope in ugly camo color (hugely discounted due to camo color)
UTG PRO 34mm rings (yes, UTG PRO - very nice)

I added weight inside the Bravo stock "void" with lead weights for tire balancing - I can add more or remove easily

Looks awesome. Have nearly same setup minus weight.

You'll probably find that the hornady 75BTHP will do pretty good if you can find a calm day. I don't know your barrel length but if you can get them around 3000fps it should get you do 1000 yards with relative ease.

This T3x Lite 7mm RemMag never ceases to impress me. After about 1500 rounds down the tube, I made a load with the Berger Classic Hunter Hybrids I got on sale a couple months back.

68.5gr of Reloder 26 and a Berger 168 Classic Hunter Hybrid with .020 jump. R-P brass, Federal 215M primers.

My super-ideal-awesome shooting position ?

Just re-mounted the scope, tuned the trigger spring last night, and torqued the action screws down to 65-70 in-lbs. .....

and after getting close to zero'd

Made correction and changed point of aim:

I was at a range in TX last month and a fellow shooter offered to let me shoot his .223. 700 action w custom barrel. 1000yds first 3 shots followed by 5/7 at 1400yds. Sorry, no data on his hand loads. Definitely doable.

18" 223rem CTR barrel testing today.

It seems that i must look new recive for 69gr and 77gr Scenar.
52 gr Nosler custom competition still made great results.
1/8 twist 18" barrel, what do you think, is it waist of time to trying to get 77gr bullet to make it accute it no more?
From the beginning, when it was 24", it did like more light bullets.
I also have one 1lbs of Hodgon H335 powder, i might try that too for this shortie.
100-meters 5 shots with Nosler CC was about this.
DOT is 16mm.

Damn, holy fuck!

I can't get my 6.5CM @ 1000, I can't even begin to imagine shooting my 223 at 1400 lmfao, and I'm in TX too hahahaha.

Do you at least know what bullet? 1400 is impressive from a 223.
