Your front sight hood looks identical to an actual U.S.M.C. sight hood I have.

Very nice recreation and dead on accurate to the original IMHO. You certainly were sent some nice items- I used a set of Bill`s sights on my clone rifle and am very happy with them as well as the service I received from Bill.

Is there a mob that makes a repro front handgaurd for 1903 sniper's with the cut-out already in it? And that will ship one to Australia?

I found mine from the same guy that provided the heavy checker butt plate. He is in the US but had no problems shipping to the UK so I can't see why he'd have a problem with Aus. I'll hunt down the details and PM you when I've found them

That is one awesome rifle Mr. Basraboy. Im truly jealous. By the way, I remember you seem to like Enfields a good bit, do you own any original or otherwise No. 5 Mk. 1`s? AKA Jungle Carbine? Those have to be the coolest looking Vintage service rifles. Now that is the original scout rifle. Id bet it kicks pretty good though.

Do you think we could just get some pics of all your vintage service rifles Basra? Atleast Id love to see them. And which is your favorite and/or most accurate?

Guys, thanks for your kind words about the project and apologies for being off the radar for a while. My work situation turned to brown a couple of months ago and, after 7 weeks of enforced R&R I'm now back in work (at least temporarily).

jb...will try to do a "family" shot over the Christmas holiday. - Ive been looking for a good Jungle Carbine for a long time but supplies of good stock are drying up. The guys with the keepers are hanging on to them now. Only ones you tend to see on the racks are the one's that just cycle from delaer to dealer because they can't sell them!! Same with a lot of the WW2 and older rifles over here. I guess it may be the same on your side fo the pond?

windageandelevation...sorry mate, only got the one and I'm hanging on to it!! But keep your eyes open, they do come up from time-to-time.

ChuckinDenver over at Culver's Shooting forum / Jouster is well respected. He did the work on my faux M1903A1 USMC sniper. He was easy to work with and very reasonable price wise.

New to sniper's hide. Had the fortune to come across a nice 1903 a few years back ( not a collector piece ) and built one of these. Couldn't find an 8x so used a 12x that a fellow gun nut found for me to finish the build. Gave it to my daughter to shoot one day and she shot the cork out of a wine bottle at 125 yds. with it... became her new-most-favorite-gun. A guy over in reno had all kinds of parts that he had bought in the 50's when they shut down the USMC unit in Hawthorne NV. Dug through barrels, bolts and the like and came up with some cool stuff. Finally got it all together and another shooting buddy down the street tells me to come by, he has something for me because I'm into the old stuff. Gives me an M-1903-A1 NM in a box with a cut off NM special stock. See Brophy's P-203. Had to put it all back together again so got wood and made a new stock for it with the shotgun buttplate. Thought I was done and found plugged holes in reciever and barrel, 7.2" apart. There was no handguard in the box of parts so of course I made one of those too and mounted blocks and the unertl and shot it. Works great and because it looks cooler and newer than the other 03 and according to her shoots better ( which it does ) that one is now her new most fav gun. My friend who has since passed said the he bought 3 rifles at the same sale that the gent in Reno did with scopes. The scopes are long gone but the one rifle remained, all the others were given away to be sporterized and such. No one knew that they would be this valuable down the road. Find it interesting though that a NM special would show up in gov't hands.

He's had two of my scopes for over a year. Talked to him 3 times over the phone. Each time the story changed a bit. To me he follows the methods of a scammer. Tell people what they want to hear. Phone now goes unanswered, message box is full. Just emailed them to return my property. We'll see.... .

So... if you are listening Parsons - Put Up or Shut Up. Get off your @$$ and do some work.
