I saw a ton of it at Leader Hardware in Mitchell, SD. Didn't look at the price though.
Nope, but I wasn't looking for it either....his shelves we're full of powder though. I did notice he had and 8 lb'er of H4350 for $207...so i'm guessin' the singles are bringin $30..I walked and bought none.Nate, did you see any CFE223 there by chance ?
He sold me my M40X commemorative. He listed it $300 over book. I figured with so few available, I was just gonna have to bite the bullet and pay the price.
Go to purchase and the asshole wanted to charge me an additional $45 for the gold coin that comes with it.
I pointed at the Scout Sniper Assoc. logo on the sleeve and then on the coin and asked him if I looked like a fucking idiot. He just grinned and was like "you got me".
I won't buy from that sheister ever again.
I just got a call from a friend tonight. He found an 8 pounder for me. I told him to be at the store at 5AM so that he will be first in line LOL.
I spoke with Hodgdon this week and they told me they are not making 8lb'ers right now. I hope you get the big jug, but how did the store get it in stock?
Wish Walmart sold powder in NJ......
From what I understand...there are FEW dealers even stocking powder in Jersey. Shot some SC's with a guy from N. Jersey a few months back. He was driving back home after hitting every gun shop he could find on his way out and back to Montana. he had all sorts of bullets, powder and primers in the trunk.
I'm an Ex Jersey guy we talked about the stores where I USED to get components; Rays in N. Plainfield, Harry's on Rt 130 and Effingers in Bound Brook. Rays is GONE. And apparently components tough to find at all. Many shops run out of the game by over zealous Fire Marshall's and well meaning but ridiculous local Ordinances.
I'm on month 10 of my backorder with Brownells.
NJ is the gigantic suck. I only know of three sources in State. My friends and I are so frustrated, we are willing to drive 100+ miles out of state just to find powder or primers. Problem is, we often face the "only buy 1 pound of powder, 1 box of primers, 1 box of .22" per guy speech. I get the reason why the quantity limitation and often plead our case. Sometimes they have mercy and give us two, but good luck finding any of that in stock as well. Recently, I complained to my wife about it all and she said, "I thought you bought all that equipment and tools so that you can shoot." LOL, to marry a woman with quick wit.
As far as Ammo, we are limited to one box per man per day when it's in stock. Many gun dealers will not sell ammo because they want to keep it for new gun purchases and indoor ranges hold it for those renting ports/club members..... Don't laugh, we use the gun range to practice archery and one guy is giving serious consideration to purchasing a flint lock.
I'm still on back order from the winter with online sites. I have a feeling many on this forum who live elsewhere thinking this:
haha.
