400 yards is a chip shot in the groundhog fields with a .223 on a calm day. Maybe this...I don't know what to call him... had some skill, maybe he aimed, but daring to go inside his head, listening to the long , mostly ininterrupted strings of fire, he was spraying. No praying I can say accompanied that act.

Yesterday an SUV passed me. On the tail were two bumper stickers, "TRUCK FUMP" and "RESIST". In weird juxtaposition or twisted complement, a peace sign and another symbol I don't recognize were drawn in the sust on th rear glass. My hackles went up.
Given the fact that half of our voting populace felt comfortable pulling the lever for an outright felon, my concern has been exactly what is happening right now.

May not be the "government" that's afraid. May be the real back room players of government that are. Facebook, Hillary and the like. I'm all but certain of his motives and that's the only explanation. Sure, some dude with the means and brains can go crazy but he still has to pick a target. Shit just doesn't add up on this one. When a terrorist blows something up we see a dozen people arrested in 24hrs. We've learned relatively little about this whole situation and conflicting stories at that. I still remember seeing "parents" laughing at the start of the press conference in Sandy hook when they didn't know the cameras were rolling, I remember hearing them say right in the beginning that the AR was in the trunk of the car. They changed it all as it went to fit their narative. Something is amiss here as well.

I haven't read this whole thread. A few things to think about, this guy had no weapons training, 64 year old males don't normally go on shooting spree, he had no real axe to grind politically or religiously, how did he get a corner room just days before a massive music fest in Vegas, how did he get his hands on full auto or have the knowledge to retro fit a gun to be full auto and maintain a constant rate of sustainable cyclic fire? Their are A LOT more questions than answers to this. None of them pass the smell test to me. My guess, this guy was dead before the first firing pin strike. He was a patsy and those who did pull the trigger are dead now too.

There is NO WAY that he did this by himself. Too many things do not add up. I must have listened to the machine gun fire 20 times yesterday. I have fired a bunch of FA and the cyclic rate sounded wrong for an AR15. I went to YouTube and pulled up some videos of FA 15s to re-familiarize myself with the sound and they did not sound like what I heard on the newsfeeds. Maybe it was echo or something to explain it but I swear it sounded more like a slower belt fed type of weapon to me. Moreover, why did he have 10 rifles up there. I did not hear anything that I would categorize as having a semi-auto acoustic signature. Truth be told; we will never know what was in the room.
I would doubt that the truth will come out. There are too many institutions that are involved that have a huge ax to grind against the right. By institutions I mean, media and other funding organizations. I have my doubts that 2A will come through this whole. Trump will cave and offer concessions.

That video was posted in this thread (the twitter video, the guy references) at 400 plus yards the flash and the sound would not be synchronized. the flash would be seen before the sound heard, then the flash would stop before the sound stopped.
Just because flash can't be seen doesn't mean the gun isn't being fired. Flash hiders do just that. Also people watch to many movies and think that the barrel of the gun is ALWAYS put outside the window. Yet everyone here knows that you would stand back a few feet and the flash would be inside the room. With the smoke detector going off in the room the gun fire was most assuredly inside the room.

The time line has been posted. LEO at door in 12-16 min and then the shooting stopped. If at that point the shooter has turned his attention to the hall way then it would have been prudent to plan accordingly. Had the gun fire been continuing then yes of course run in guns a blazing and take his attention off the crowd below. This of course would probably cost a few LEO lives, while I admire a hero no doubt. letting him kill 2 or 3 LEO (before SWAT gets set up) just then allows him to run though the hotel uncontrolled.
Shooter had cameras monitoring the hall way. It would appear at first sign of LEO he offed himself.
I feel for the victims and families, and I'm also ashamed of my country for politicizing every fucking tragedy with total disregard to these people.

Doubt it would cost "pennies". So we're supposed to have swat/military on every street corner now at every event, including all concerts, high school football games, the restaurant I go to lunch? Can't live like sheep. Can't prevent it either, if someone wants to do some damage they're going to figure out a way to do it. As far as the "sound signature" how many of us routinely go 400 yards down range to "listen" all most all our hearing experience is at the gun. I will say I have been out hunting and heard gun fire and it is pretty muted after a couple hundred yards.

Isnt that unusual at all. Here in Charlottesville we have the same sort of situation. A huge out door venue surrounded by tall buildings. Ives seen thousands packed into that small space. I talked to our chief of police Tim Longo about what a guy or two with ar's and lots of magazines could do, and he just shrugged it off.

You want one or 2 "beat cops" to go up against an unknown number of people with what appears to be machine guns. What if 12 guys were in that room all with machine guns. Shooting had stopped, the need to act hastily was gone.
