Who makes a 50 moa base? Even 40s are rare (few make them, finding them readily available is another matter).

The Gen 2 PST is a huge improvement over the Gen 1, not even a little bit close.
It seems like the the new SE has kept the same forgiving eyebox and wide FOV of the Gen 2 PST, which should make it a huge improvement over the PST Gen 1 also.
That would depend on the rifle but you can also get rings with MOA in them as well and combine the two.
Depending on the rifle EGW may make a 40 MOA base. If you get one of those bases and some of the Burris Signature rings like Rob mentioned you should be able to tune your cant to basically bottom the scope out at your zero.
Can someone check the tracking above 5 mils? That seems to be when things go bad if they are going to.
Well finally got my rings in and got my Strike Eagle mounted up on my Vudoo. The Vudoo has a 40 MOA base so after zeroing I had 24 mils up and 8.6 mils down from my zero. I didn't use the zero stop as having under a full revolution below my zero I wasn't worried about it at this point. I will say after zeroing, dialing up and down and then back to zero I took another shot and it was right on my zero. No shift which is good. I am looking forward to testing out the Strike Eagle. Seems to be a very good optic for the money. Next is a tracking test.
Not exactly what you asked. My scope is MOA. I was shooting at 140 yards and had 14 MOA dialed in. I have a Pepper Popper at 140. I measured it in my scope and it was about 20 MOA tall. I dialed another 20 MOA making a total of 34 MOA dialed. Then I held on the bottom of the Popper and hit the top. Then I dialed back to my 50 yard zero and it was still good.

Another option for rings, especially if it's on something that you can't just slap a new higher rise rail on, and cost is a factor (which it must be for anyone buying this optic) is the Burris XTR Signature rings. They can be found for around $110 and come with inserts to go anywhere from 5-40MOA built in rise. I've used them for a few "budget" builds and have never had an issue. The smaller non "tacticool" version is very well regarded over at rimfire central, but these are quite a bit beefier and not much more $.

My mistake, just looked at a few vendors and only saw 30mm. Could've sworn they had 1" and 34mm also when I got mine, guess I had them confused with the T series. Sorry for the misinformation guys! They are good for anyone after 30mm tho haha.
How about out to 20 mils? I took my usual 100 yard tracking target and put it at my 50 yard range at home. Laid the reticle against it and it was right on. Then I shot the target. Being at 50 yards each space is 2 mils so the 10 mil mark is 20 mils. I dialed up to 20 mils at 2 mils each. I think it did pretty good. As you can see from the bottom before and after the zero was a little high to begin with but after dialing back to it it was right there for return to zero.
got One of these for my wife and here is her testing it out at 500 yards she also was shooting at 900 and it tracked perfect and returned to zero every time. She even shot the 2 inch wide by 6 inch tall Sasquatch target at 600 yards took 3 shots for her to hit it but the wind was the issue.

Scars tear up scopes. I wouldn't put it on one personally. But if you did and it got torn up at least you know it will be fixed quickly.

"The Viper PST Gen II will be superior optically. The new Strike Eagle 5-25x56 will be between the Diamondback line and the Viper line"
Didn't say just HOW close the SE is to either of the other scopes, but definitely not Viper quality glass.
Like some others have said.. try to find a LE/MIL/VET discount. I pulled one for $480 out the door. Figure at that price I could probably sell it at cost if I don't feel the need to keep it. It's still in "pre order" status, but should hopefully have it in hand soon.

I get no barrel relief on my RPR so I had to run an AR style Mount. I used the highest UTG made and it works great. If the objective were any bigger, I might have issues.
Warne 220M lows (.25" top to bottom or .92" top to center) fit even better on the Bergara B14R with the EGW 30moa rail.
I'm new to the longer range shooting game. Built my first AR last year in 6.5 Grendel because I wanted something different with better ballistics and potential hunting uses. I believe it should be capable of at least 600 yards. I have been trying to keep the build at a higher quality budget build with about $1500 into it so far.
What would you all think about this new Strike Eagle on a Grendel AR-15? Would it be sturdy enough? Glass clear enough?
I would love to spend $1000 or more on a scope for my build but can't quite justify that yet. If ya'll think it wouldn't be the best any suggestions for a better choice that is under $1,000?

i haven’t had mine long enough to give any good info on endurance and tracking.
it seems to be sturdy, tracked well (2 range trips), decent-ish glass.
