House of reps is supposed to represent the will of the people from the district they are elected in. There is argument whether it is direct representation, ie a poll of the people determines how the messenger will vote, or do the people elect an individual of beliefs and morals they expect will match their beliefs/morals?
The senate is supposed to be akin to the house of lords - chosen by the states governor. The saucer to cool the hot tea of the peoples representative in the lower house of congress. We screwed the process by allowing direct vote of senators. We would have less grid lock in congress right now if governors were appointing senators. Of course you wouldnt like that as currently that would likely mean a 2/3rds conservative majority.

Which views are you confused about? Why our current system has lead to a two party system that the founding fathers specifically said is NOT what they wanted? The founders put nothing in the Constitution about winner takes all for the states. So if VA votes 51% Democrat, it was not the intention of the founders to give 100% of VA electoral votes to the Democrat. That would be tossing 49% of that state's votes in the trash. If all of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg votes blue, do you think it's fair that people in the middle of the state don't get counted in PA's electoral votes?

proportioning of electoral votes is up to each state they determine if its a fraction, all, they could even do whatever they want to do and go for someone outside the ballot. Maine and one other state do split electors proportionally. Petition your individual state to change.

The Surpeme Court ruled on same sex marriage in 2015. Support for gay marriage/civil unions/whatever among Americans was pretty lopsided at that point according to every national poll.

I think it's silly. If a states popular vote is 100% candidate A, then it's electoral votes should go candidate A. The votes need to represent the people.

However, the left is no longer satisfied because the rate of change they desire is not happening as fast as they want. There's my rifle. TC LRR in 6.5CM. I've got a Hawke Vantage 6-24x50 on it (Got it on sale for $150. Sweet rifle. Overkill for 100 yards max.
Posted the last target. 10 ring is about 3 inches in diameter from my estimate. As I said, the 6.5CM is overkill. Even my RAR 5.56 is overkill (Great beginner rifle for learning to precision shoot at shorter ranges. Great price, amazing accuracy.) Also attached my practice target that I use. If I don't challenge myself to shoot small targets, I'm not going to hit small targets when I need to.

It certainly does, when the 10 people in the one square mile produce, say, all the food that feeds the 100 people in the other square mile. You can't produce food in highly populated areas. It requires low-density and open land. But those people have very different needs and requirements than the 100, and if they aren't addressed the food isn't produced and the 100 die along with the 10.
