That I can't be a Free Mason and a Roman Catholic or I risk being excommunicated from the latter. It is true but dumb as fucking shit. I wasn't excommunicated when I told the Bishop he needs to learn fucking Russian with an attitude like that. But I ended it with, "but I will pray for you." Same thing when I asked what are we going to do about the fucking Irish. That came about when he was going around promoting support for the Dreamers.
New guy at work, former Marine, tells me the 50 BMG is so powerful it has two times the velocity at 800m than what it has at the muzzle. Then mentions that thing about it skinning people alive with near misses.
I worked at a shop for a little while, and had a customer tell me once a .308 only dropped 36 inches at 1000 yards. His reasoning: Shooting benches were only 3 feet high, the rifle is pointed straight at the target, and the bullet has to start dropping as soon as it leaves the barrel.
I drew a picture for him showing how a rifle's bore is angled up while line of sight is straight, and showed him dope charts of my own .308. He told me I had no idea what I was talking about amd walked out of the shop.
Lol, yeah, my mother-in-law shot a antelope at less than 100 yards with a .223 62g soft point. My favorite is an acquaintance who believes that you should not shoot any North American game animal with less than a 300 Ultra Mag. He is considering a 338 for elk hunting.
My nephew uses a .223 to shoot deer. He doesnt take a shot under 200 yards typically but he has a 100% success rate.Lol, yeah, my mother-in-law shot a antelope at less than 100 yards with a .223 62g soft point.
Nose in dirt without a step.
Yeah, those are the guys I just rolled my eyes at LOL. How did anyone kill any big game before smokeless powder? The rifle of the west was usually a 32 caliber with black powder cartridges. Lots of deer and elk have been shot with a black powder cartridge LOLMy nephew uses a .223 to shoot deer. He doesnt take a shot under 200 yards typically but he has a 100% success rate.
This same acquaintance though I was fooling for considering anything less that a 30 cal bullet to hunt with. I think he is the type of person who wants the biggest exit wound possible. He has told me on several occasions that anything under 3100 fps is not enough to hunt with.
Yeah, he is bigger is always better kind of person. He is still trying to kill his first deer with a bow, how ironic is that. I wonder if he is going to put a 30 cal bullet on the end of his arrow.Yeah, those are the guys I just rolled my eyes at LOL. How did anyone kill any big game before smokeless powder? That must be one of my relatives, who always wants to shoot long range with us. But, never gets past the blasting stage when he takes his AR out. Then wonders why he isn't included in our long range shoots! My in laws constantly tell me there is a black panther (cat) on their ranch. I've lived there 7yrs and no sign.
Same family members told me that a black unmarked helicopter landed on a ranch South of Big Spring, TX and demanded to search the owners house and inspect all his guns.
Gun wise... " I've shot cheap and expensive ar15's... they all shoot the same.
No.......??? this didn’t happen......At a sniper school a few years ago, a new trainee was told to call his shots. He then got behind the rifle, called "Center Mass!", and pulled the trigger. He repeated that 4 more times, while the rest of us rolled around laughing. I guess that was the stupidest thing I ever saw, but close enough.
That someone knows what 8 inches looks like at 800 yards
I bet he is a pool player! '8 ball, corner pocket'No.......??? this didn’t happen......
Yup, do or say something stupid and I guarantee you, miss Karma will make sure you meet up with it again......uh yeah...BTDTI work with a guy who was in the marines for a while, 13 years as a firearms instructor too (I've seen his papers). Stone cold serious tried telling me the AR in AR-15 stood for "Air Light" because they were designed to be light weight. I let it slide the first time he said it because I didn't feel like arguing with him. Then he said it again a few months later and I called him out on it. He argued with me, then I googled it for him and then he pulled the whole "Armalite Rifle, that's what i said". He also calls magazines "clips" and argues that he's allowed to call it whatever he wants because "he's killed people" and he was a Marine.
he's learned now I know my way around guns and he cant spew BS around me. So he tends to watch what he says and we actually hang out more now and shoot together. Let's just say he learned some stupid things and habits in the "corp".
Also watched him showing demonstrating to a new shooter how to shoot his .308 bolt action. He laid down behind the rifle damn near 90 degrees to it. Said "that's how we are taught to lay behind it in the Marines" Maybe so...but he looked ridiculous.
Yes he was. He was also the guy, that after we graduated and put on our rank stood by the office where everyone had to pass him and salute him...total jackass.Wow. This is an infantry officer?
Noob here but next year will be my 50th year shooting just about everything I can trying to wear my trigger finger out, no luck so far! What I've heard would fill a WalMart. What I've seen is what I really remember!
A formerly great outdoor range in MD I no longer go to. 1st oops is I'm watching this guy take apart an IMI Eagle in 41 mag. Since I was shooting a S&W 58, I was just curious. He then takes a small tool set out and starts filing the bolt faces a little. Whoa I say, WTF are you doing that for? He says the gun isn't cycling well so I ask him if he has tried other ammo in it, I'll share some of my factory loads. Nope, he says, he reloads and blends his own powders, knows what he is doing as he is a "part time gunsmith and will get it right". Goodbye!
Same range, the last time. All clear, don't touch your guns. I see an O/U broken down in two, but the barrels are loaded. Bell in head starts ringing but not loud enough, long hot day, tired. Go down range to change a target with others and, KaBoom. Idiot had picked up front and back, re-assembled them and, gee wizz, the gun went off, lucky at about a 60 degree off angle. He left ASAP before I could get to him as I was at the 100 yd target line. Got to the RSO, weren't you watching? Um, he missed it, I knew he was watching some good looking women at the other end. Told him he could have gotten someone killed, namely me, and he should turn in his papers along in a loud not very polite way. Being I'm 6'9" and about 275, he just looked at his feet and mumbled a lot. Never gone back.
I have learned through the years to be selective of with who and where I shoot.
An officer with my former department had problems with a Glock 19 jamming. The problem was traced back to a dirty pistol. I asked when the pistol was last cleaned. I was told that the fellow at the gun counter who sold the pistol informed the officer that Glock's didn't need to be cleaned. I said "you sure as hell didn't hear that in any class I taught". Apparently, because Glocks were so new and high tech, the gun counter fellow figured that they had eliminated the need to clean them.
After a very cursory cleaning, the pistol worked just fine. I then asked the officer if they still believed that the pistol didn't need cleaning. The obvious answer was "NO."
I guess Ron White is correct: "You can't fix stupid."
Nope, makes perfect sense. The Masons are the rebranded Templar organization, the first international bank. Banks weren't regulated then and the king of France was in huge debt. He and the pope at the time conspired to issue death warrants for all the Templars. The warrants were sealed, sent all over Europe and opened at the same time to prevent escape.
The charges ranged from petty to obscene. They were all killed or forced to run.
So yeah, given the church's obstinate stance on other issues like kid fucking, I bet they still do have a hard on for Templars/Masons. FWIW, US was founded by Masons and US had no official contact with Vatican until after Kennedy. Pope even sent a cornerstone for the (Statue of Liberty?) but it was defaced and destroyed by the public --because it was from Rome.
“Reloading will save you money in the long run”
I can think of a few from one gun shop. Ironically I've done everything opposite of what he says and so far it's worked out pretty well.
1. After I had already ordered a Razor AMG elsewhere... "You don't want a FFP scope, you'll never be able to use the hash marks for holdovers since they're too small".
2. "I run MOA turrets and a Mil-dot reticle, it's just easier for me that way. Enter the info on the back of my factory ammunition box and it gives me my exact dope every time"
3. "Why'd you buy a short action 6.5 Creedmoor? You'll never hit or kill anything past 500 yards with it. You need a (Insert random magnum cartridge here)"
Most of the products he pushes are just what he has in stock or is a dealer for. If you buy anything else, you've made a mistake even if it is better.
