Maggie’s What's Your View II

I would recommend eating last.
Or, you could end up feeling like this after you haul in Ol' Fatboy.
Don't wanna hurl up a fine slab of pork

Catch and release in the water. Can't take them out because they are protected.
Honestly, they need to open a limited tag and kill system because they are becoming a nuisance.
And there in lies the problem with environmental laws. I understand habitat destruction. While environmental laws do not. I mean 7.5 billion people are going to disrupt some shit, I get it. Can anyone even think of 10 million bison running freely in the Midwest TODAY. So with that I don't want to see wolfs or grouper extinct but if the only available habitat will support a population of 100 (number pulled out of my ass) there is no fucking good reason to try and keep 1000 in that area. Will actually lead to more habitat loss. But of course I am a moron so fuck it.

Rebecca and I on Sunday, chasing goliath grouper.

Diawa meat stick rod.
Big assed Okuma reel.
200lb test line.
14 and 16 ought circle hooks.
6oz lead weight.
17 hookups.
14 breakoffs.
Hers was right at 600lbs. Mine was a measly 400.
Her "small" fish was right around 200lbs. Just a baby...

Pics never do them justice.
A new reel has been ordered and comes in tomorrow. Bigger..

Going up in line test weight too.

Great Pics Mike. Bout how many 100's on that one? My best guess, and I've been wrong before, would be the 350ish, maybe 300? Enjoyed playing with them when stationed down there. Retired Chief down in Key West use to hand line 500lbers and better. Imagine that? MtnCreek, what's the other well known name for these fish? Come on.........

And sorry T, but it's almost done....... ;)

Summary from today:
I want to eat at 1J's and then go fishing with Mike, or vice versa. Oh, and my wood cutting, splitting, and stacking days are over and not coming back. But it is great exercise,, and working on stuff like that clears the mind and solves problems completely unrelated to what you're doing. That's why I like mowing the grass so much.
Great stuff, boys!

Good, solid thinking on all accounts. If we hear from 1J04 in the next 24 hours, I'll be shocked. The poor bastard is probably knee deep in a meat coma (perhaps with help from the meds). Just a hunch...

We figured mine had to go 400. I couldn't get my arms completely around it and I am 6' with a 74" span.
Rebecca's fish dwarfed mine in length and girth.
As you know, it's difficult to get a real assessment of their weight without a length/ girth measurement. Even doing that, it's still a guess.
My fish was right at 6.5' long

awesome pics, mike, way too cool for school...
the fuckin jew fish suck, great for catching like mike does, but the mothers eat everything up...
the good spear fishing sites are all fucked now, they had been full of snapper, grouper all kinds of shit, now, nothing but fat ass jew fish...
you could drive a car through the mouth of one of those suckers, which means a 5 to 10 lb grouper or snapper aint shit but a snack for him...
hope youre not on the water today stud...

photo58348.jpg Not today buddy. Getting a hitch installed on the wife's van.
Rode over to BPS then her office at HCSO to have lunch with her. Got back to uhaul as the first rain drops came down.
This is my view until they are done

Glad to hear you're still kicken'!

We bought these lilies in bulk from Amazon our first Spring here in 2013.
The tubers were about the size of my thumb. The soil, red clay, was so hard we had to literally chisel out the holes to plant them. We joked that we planted them in clay pots. That's what the holes looked like. They somehow hung on through last year's hot and dry late Summer and Fall.
I fertilized them heavily in November and again in February, and the wet cool Spring has been kind to them.
I love this place!

Keep it up and the term "retired" is going to start fitting your life style.

Sounds like my next good idea has already been shot down. Buzz kill.

Not trying to wreck the soirée, just want to be in back for once, with the flight attendant sittin' on my lap...I'll gladly screen the crew. After years in the business, if they as much as hiccup, I'll be up front crackin' heads.

You're forgiven and this thing is 'on' !!!!!!!!!!!!! :p Ya struck a nerve god damn ya and we took a vote. You can lolly gag with us in the back, but when it comes to "BARREL ROLL" time, we want ya at the helm. All fucked up. Laughing n shit. Meet these demands, or you're destined for Tuckers Pond............

A shot from my rooftop deck above the bar this afternoon. Our local organic farming co-op is doing a plant sale down on the beer garden.

Later this evening we have reps from Allagash Brewing and their importer cooking stir-fry on propane woks down there. So many reasons to enjoy a cold beer on this beautiful afternoon!

Good color tonight, need a quality camera.
Pic doesn't do it justice. [IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","src":"http:\/\/i752.photobucket.com\/albums\/xx164\/rthur\/DSC02949.jpg"}[/IMG2]

Beautiful shot none the less. I know well what you're saying Rthur about the camera not able to catch what you're seeing and I hate it. Better than nothing. ;)
