Maggie’s What's Your View II

They're pretty efficient

It has been raining here for MONTHS, so a cloudless day today was very much appreciated!

I checked on the lease hunters campsite on the adjacent property and no sign of them, but the tents could use some tweaking. That main one got raped by a big bear early in the season. The access road is so sloppy that they may have abandoned it for the remainder of this year. General rifle season closed today, and we don't have a late bow season in my area.

St. Marks Basilica, Venice, today/Sunday afternoon;

Had lots of good pics today. There is a fire around somewhere, lots of smoke, very hazy skies. Tired/lazy tonight, will post more pics tomorrow/Monay.

Edit; I shot this up and tight with only about the top 1/3rd of the building shown. What isn’t seen is the bottom 2/3rds with all the restoration scaffolding and the booger eaters on the balcony, right below the bottom of this pic. It looks as though the restoration is going to be going on for a very long time. Not much apparent progress since we were here last September.

My view for the weekend.

Friday evening.

The only willing participant out of 17.
172 yards using my Dad's 280 and ammo he loaded back in '09.

Saturday's sunset.

Shot another boar this morning within 20' of Friday's kill. Good solid hit and we couldn't find it. Called it a day at ten am and had breakfast with the other 5 Service Members. After a great breakfast of biscuits and gravy, we did a photo shoot and thanked everyone for their hospitality.

Just something special about using a Father's rifle. Almost a sacred thing.

Too true.
The 280 Remington and 7-Mag were Dad's favorite calibers. I guess that made him a 7mm man.
I brought other rifles with me and never considered uncasing them.
Dad passed away in Sept of 2014 and the guns have just been safe queens until this past week.
From now on they will see regular use.

Cool stuff Mike on many fronts! Love the Spanish moss in the trees. Don’t have that here as you know.

Lots that down here. While sitting on the stand today, we got to watch 40 hens fly down from their roost and land about 180 yards in front of us. Cows and their calves moved in right in front of us and dined on a bunch of that moss.
That property is loaded with game. Two 10pt white tails were shot yesterday. They were 152lbs and 171lbs. For Florida, they were big bodied.
The property has Sika deer also, but none were taken.
Overall, it was a great experience.

Dang right Mike. Grandpa would have said that if you hang my guns on the wall your the wrong person for them. Just awesome amigo?

Just curious, what is the dish? ^^^

Chuck roast cut up thin, apply plain tenderizer coating thorough. Place in hot pan with 4 tblspoons extra virgin coconut oil. Cook down till natural juice is about cooked off. Throw 1/2 cup water in and cover to simmer about 15 minutes. Don't let it run out of water.

Prepare your spice in a ramikin or bowl. You can adjust all this to your taste. The ratio I make up isn't too overpowering. You can adjust the heat(spicy) with the hot Madras curry powder, or sub Hungarian paprika with regular paprika. This mix is what I use for about a pound and a half to pound three quarters of meat....any meat. I do this with Spanish mackeral I catch in the Gulf. Of course keep cooking time apropo for the type of meat you choose.
Ratio is one one one....etc. I use ~tablespoon of each.
1 hot Madras curry powder
1 garam masala
1 paprika
1 coriander powder
1 turmeric powder
1 garlic powder
1 cumin powder

You can add onion or shallots, really anything you like. Make it your own.

Once the meat is "done" proper. Throw your spice in. Stir around. Add a little water and simmer. It should thicken up. I honestly don't know how to teach. I just know how to do, so I appologize.
Once it's thicken up a bit, add some cream or full fat plain yogurt. Cream isn't proper traditional Indian method so I've heard, but more for the western pallets.
I've used cream, I've used yogurt.

Cook down stirring constant until it thickens to suit you. If you get it too hot, or cook too long you'll "break" it. The oil and milk solids will separate...it'll still be good, but...kinda greasy. Yeah I've broke exactly one.

Anyway. It's great for arthritis. I cook lentils or Jasmine rice to pour it over.

I have a curry risotto recipe too. It's made very similar to the above.

Meet Ben and Jerry fellas. Ben is an AR that was a tack driver out of the box and Jerry is a rigged out hunting rifle to shoot distance??? 4/5 best with both guns at 1022yrds and a good day? Keep hanging out with you guys I might just learn how to shoot.

That’s not a good day, that’s a great day! Nice shooting.

Here's some Venetian Water Taxiis ($$$$). The "Water Bus" (Public transportation) is much less expensive.

And, a night shot of the side of the Hilton we are staying at. It was one of the largest flour mill/pasta manufacturers in Italy, in times gone by. Hilton got a hold of it, gutted it and did a fabulous job of putting their hotel into the interior. It's really cool inside. They kept as much of the old structure as they could and succeeded;

Quick little thrown-together video. Installing MBRP PowerTech 4 exhaust on my RZR Turbo (once UPS delivers it sometime today). Figured I would see what she sounds like straight-piped!

The video audio does not do it justice. It's stupid loud...

Dinner out, @ 7644 City Line Avenue, Phila., PA. Love the Chinese store with the brave "soul food" sign. G, that's some balls.

Decisions, decisions: grease, or more grease? Don't tell the cardiologist.

Hopefully you are feeling better than I am! I had tikka masala with death curry last night and it's haunting me today.

Zantac 150 might as well be Flintstones chewables at this point.

The only thing that is starting to get me are too many onions too late at night. Looooooove a good cheeseburger with ketchup and fried onions, and a cheeesteak similarly dressed twice as much, but not so much late-night anymore. Came home and wound up peckish before bedtime, so I finished the chicken and crawfish up. Lots of onion ...

This new gig pumping poop.

Its not contracted through “Sparkle Shartz and ‘Farm Animal Wranglers’, LLC” out of WA state is it?

If so, there is a camera and mic in your company hat bill to record your bathroom visits for “special interests” home and abroad.

Plus all the goats and sheep you see in WY.

You still doing the other gig? Been wondering.

Watch yer topknot. The roads, weather, and Eediots on the roads are dangerous.

I do lots of gigs... lol I still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up LOL. I still drive the semi truck on the weekends just for fun and extra money, it’s my cousin’s company. But now I work in gas and oil industry calibrating and servicing flow meters in the oil field and gas plants. It will be a very marketable skill for many years to come.....
