Made it out shooting today. Up at 0515 to finish getting ready and get some snacks packed and coffee brewed.
Was a late one last night, finally getting to sleep around 0100........
Muddy, cold, and windy (more than usual for early AM) up in some public land shooting.
Found out I had screwed up my zero on my one rifle when resetting the turrets. Was hitting .3 mil high at 100.... fixed that. Had a couple 1” groups but this rifle does better if I do. Back to basics from position to trigger tickle. Stacked em in tight.
Shot a lot of .22 once I got the Weaver 3-15 zeroed. Was shooting a 3” steel flapper at 100 in hellacious wind. Once I figured the hold it was almost boring so I shot some groups. Got 3 groups at 1.2 MOA at 100 with CCI minimags. Tightened up at bit with CCI SV.
Gusts made some groups a bit bigger and still shot multiple 10 shot groups around 1.5 MOA.
I was pretty darn happy considering the conditions.
We stopped my MHSA on the way home. Class acts as usual. We looked at everything. Checked out 2 different Vudoos and then needed some Kleenex... ?
My buddy got to check out a Volkman Precision 1911 with a case colored frame that will haunt him for weeks. I expect to hear about the waking up in cold sweats from his wife when she asks me about what may be wrong.....
Finished the day with some great BBQ at a friends restaurant and an 87 IBU IPA brewed a couple blocks away from the restaurant.
Then home to finish projects and over to a buddies to help him fix some busted cabinet doors.
