Looking through a box of old stuff. Found my cuff links and boutonniere from my wedding. Anniversary was yesterday. My wife made the boutonniere as a surprise from some spent brass in my gun room.

...Ok, so no evidence of a direct link in the natural history museum. Mostly. There was a real looking replica of a female cro magnon, but based on the women that @Dirty D gets all excited about on here I didn’t want to be the one to send him into full cardiac arrest with photos.

But, they did have a Leonardo Da Vinci display out celebrating 500 years since his passing. Here are some highlights of his military offerings:

those spikes in the wheel look dangerous!

no pics. Again.

Wedding with momma tonight. Friend of hers from work.
Momma was so smokin in a black and white stripe dress and some Kenneth Cole heals I about lost it a couple times.

Beautiful wedding, great folks. Free bourbon, though I limited out at 3 around 2030 so I could drive home with no issues.

Dancing with her should be great for the next 50+ years!

just watched a vid in @Lawless about training police dogs. Go watch. Its awesome.

Pro-tip: if a police dog gets a hold of you, dont try to hurt or kill the dog. It will get more fired up and chew you to pieces. And without immediate medical intervention you will die from being the doggies chew toy.

Do you think they give the K9 some Greenies to clean their mouth after they chew up a nasty, unwashed tweaker?

To quote Ted Summers, "A dog bite is bad, real fuckin' bad. But, it's not as bad as a gunshot wound."

Some weekend shots.
Storms inbound tonight with a cold front that is supposed to make Monday-Tuesday feel pretty amazing!
Highs in the mid 70's with low humidities.

New blades on the Ferris. Nothing cuts like new blades.
Some geese keep coming well past the usual cutoff this year. They must have lost their nests to weather or predators as none nest here.
We should be seeing some quali-sized turneys here in another week or so. Those two hens are always around, so I know they've got nests nearby.

Ladies

Just booked tickets to spend the week of Independence Day in Louisiana visiting family.
Aunt Susie the retired nun lives there. Momma’s brother, his family, and her parents are coming.
Planning on lots of good food and a few gallons of Abita beer.

Got a good buddy in Houma. Probably snag a car and go visit his coonass for a day. Maybe see if we can go out in the swamp in his boat. Will bring skeeter nets!
He lives on a lake, so we could fish there too if he says the swamp is too nasty.

Anything you might suggest in the Covington area sounds good.
Will be traveling with 3 youngsters, possibly the whole clan (note spelling, not like Creeky’s Klan) so bear in mind.
Also, Im quite mellow on debauchery these days anyways.
Low key is good, though a good boat ride would be really cool

Hi,

Take the trip to Hammond and visit Sports Optics to get your eyeballs on as many scopes as you can lol.

Go to Acme Oyster house in Covington for "boo fries"...French Fries covered with roast beef and gravy.

Go to The Chimes in Covington for fried bowtie pasta with spinach/artichoke dip.

Sincerely,
Theis

Thats it!! He has a boat for saltwater too. Redfishing sounds great. Kinda wanted a swamp tour to let the kids see gators.
Fishin sounds better!

I remember catching fresh redfish in Pensacola visiting my aunt as a teenager and then making it up later that evening. On a grill burner to not fill her place with smoke.....

Thanks for the suggestion @Snuby642
I messaged him a bit ago, but he has 3 kids and works early, so he probably already passed out.
