Maggie’s What's Your View II

Great to hear of young people being active and fit, before my daughter went into the Navy she took Karate, weightlifting, and ran.shit paid off, she was promoted to E-3 out of boot camp, made the deans list in San Antonio where she was going to school for Corpsman, got her first pick to go to Iwakuni ,Japan and has just finished taking her test for E-4. She hasn't been in the Navy a year yet. There is a hard charger behind that smile, I suspect yours is the same, we are fortunate . The best to you and yours!

Hulka that’s awesome - congrats to her on a great meet. My daughter is a level 8 but has been badgered by injuries this year, between two broken toes and sprained ankles it’s been a tough season. But she loves it and the 18 hours a week she spends in the gym makes her stronger than most boys her age.

Level 8! Sweet. I’d be a nervous wreck if my daughter was a level 8. Congratulations! That’s a LOT of hard work.

My daughter was advancing pretty well, then broke both bones in her left leg during practice 2 1/2 years ago. She was an Xcel Gold, but, between breaking her leg and school causing her to quit her after school gymnastics, she’s not able to advance higher than a four. Now she is on the school team and has her one hour of gymnastics a day. But she’s having lots of fun and absolutely does not want to quit. She has two state championships under her belt, and she wants two more before she graduates, and her school has a darn good chance of doing it.

Here she is on the left with her best friend.

Momma's home for a long weekend after months away up in Boston and Chicago. Cheapest flight home within an easy drive was into Gulfport. Right from the airport we had to find some fresh seafood and enjoy the 80* day on the water.

We found this great holdover from the pre-Casino days on a recommendation of of a friend. Nice dive of a seafood shack, sitting atop their own bait shop. They still run their own boats up to their dock. It was nice to find one of the old surviving family operations and enjoy a glorious afternoon on the sun gorging on fresh seafood.

Where is this located? I'm a bit north of Gulfport in Waynesboro, and really enjoy hitting the coastal eateries.

Hard to say really... how easy does it look? ? a person of average intelligence should be able to do their part with minimal supervision after a couple times doing it. Some people catch on faster than others and some just never do. I broke a finger my second year doing it but it because of one of our idiots not paying attention. I peeled a guys skin almost clean off his finger a couple years ago. He might have had it coming though...

Always shooting prone like that, have you tried the Atlas 5H? It's super stable.

I haven’t, but never gave a thought of needing something different either. I typically shoot prone, but, around the yard I try other dopey positions as well. I suck at alternative/field positions, but keep trying none the less. I’m a pistolero by trade, the rifle thing is new to me in the last 10 years or so.

That’s awesome. We still have my dad’s 48 Chevrolet 1.5 ton truck that he and his father bought new. Body is STILL good and is a prime candidate for a full up restoration. Runs fine to this day.
Let's see it! I've been trying to get a '50 chevy 1.5 ton off my father in law for at least 10 years!

I only recently picked up some wide bipods and he 5H was one of them. For mostly prone with a little bit of odd stuff it's pretty nice. The stability is pretty amazing

Next time I’m up there I’ll get a picture for you. It’s red with a 10 or 12’ box with hoist. Can’t remember what they called those boxes, but wood construction with the stock rack that you could flip up so you could haul grain or livestock.

Really nice conditions here today with a high, thin, overcast and light winds. I have 5 steel targets spread around our area from 655 yards to 960 yards. Different shapes and sizes. So, I tried what I call the Five For Five. Each target gets one and you move on only with a previous impact. They are in different directions so you make a separate wind call for each. I cheated a bit and used the 260, and, as R would say, the mirage told on the wind. I sent a 6th round at the 960 yard target just because it was in the mag :).

A little on the light side for crossin' the Bar, particularly this time of year, dont'cha think ? But, "Dead Grass" does seem to fit....

Oh, BTW, I was just looking at the Regs and not only is the Stilly closed for Salmon, so is the friggin' Skagit.....Until further notice. Must be the state is upping the take for our red feathered friends. (n)(n)(n)

Would love to take my St Croix 9wt on a ride in that in your local.

R

And bend the hell outta it on bright shiny Silvers, some pretty nice Chinook (some a bit too dark), and Steelhead hell bent on breaking your gear and heart. Hell, we're lucky enough not to be very far at all outta the salt. Some of these fish still have sea lice on them. ;) Nice stick btw. That Rod would be fun on the lower river where it's a bit cleaner to play'm out, but you'd make everyone cringe cuz we use 'Meat Rods' to haul'm in before a Seal or Sealion grabs'm.

That would be a true story my friend. I think the smallest I've seen over the Bar was a 12' Livingston with 2 idiots in it. Told my buddy as we were heading out "Don't even look over there". If the Cutter wasn't busy with some other idiots they'd of never been allowed to make it out as far as they did.

Springers are just getting good down here and they'll shut it down before ya know it as well. Seen a few Bow Pickers on the move lately so they're getting ready for their turn. :cautious:

Bow pickers with fucking nets......:( Have seen them in Utsalady Bay recently. Also, the Grays are starting to come into the bay to calve in shallow water. Safer/safety from Orcas that way. Cool to watch.

And, it's guys like you and I that are fucking up the fisheries, right ? (Sporting) Licensing costs increase, opportunities decrease. The "Murican" (WA State) way, right ? My Simms have been dry for far longer than I care to think about.

I hear ya Brother. They've gotten outta control regarding screwing the hell outta the Sportsman. I haven't had anything good to say about "The System" for a very long time. They've got it so Back Asswards we'll never recover from their fuckery.
