Qouting my quoted quote…LoLYeah, yeah… Quoting my own post. Doesn’t seem like it, but a lot of progress today between getting stuff done around the house. Got the license plate holder flipped so it clears the camera, got the camera wires run to the front, and down to just one wire remaining to be tapped…that yellow wire next to the parking brake.
Not shown in this pic, but I also had to tap into that black/blue wire in that block under the driver’s seat for the camera’s reverse trigger. That red wire off to the left is now connected, and run back through the side of the fuse box and up/over to the head unit too. Just one more tap and a few connections to go.
I did test everything too (hence that red power wire temporarily connected in that pic), and everything seems to be gtg. Will try to finish up mañana.
And yes, the car will get a good cleaning/vacuuming as I button it back up! LoL
Cockpit pretty much all buttoned up, and just got the rear bumper mostly mounted (still have to tighten all the fittings and re-install taillights.
Had to take a water break…. New insulated garage and fans helps a lot, but it’s still hot as balls here.
Will get the wheels on, re-connect the battery, and run through any trouble shooting/setup needed before I finish re-installing the rest of the interior.
Getting close… then on to other projects.
Edit: Got the wheels and tires back on, so I could set the car down for final camera adjustments…done, and done!
And kind of a relief that I didn’t screw something up or cut a wire while buttoning everything back up!
Pretty happy with it overall; not bad for a $200 radio. Will need to upgrade the speakers at some point too, but really not that worried about the sound; really just wanted the Carplay interface for navigation, etc. vs. the 13-year-old basic AM/FM head unit that was in there!
