Yep! Everything they have is great but the breakfast burritos are a religious experience. Large, then add sausage, chorizo, mushroom and jalapenos.

I got to get out from behind a desk today and be out in the field. It was a nice change of pace, even met a new friend.

Out fishing yesterday and this ship was leaving port headed to Japan with a load of wood chips. Looked it up on line, it is 656 feet long, holds 3.6 million cubic feet of chips and will take almost 3 weeks to get to it's destination.
Not great but fairly stable built a portable shooting bench. Needs another coat of stain if I get around to it.

Was able to reset it with a simple restart, but it came back several more times over the course of the trip. Threw several codes when I finally got home and was able to hook it up to my Durometric tool, but the only one that really concerns me is 1731: Shift rod 1 displacement sensors
Hope it’s just a bad battery or dirty MAF sensor (both can throw really weird codes), because Porsche won’t repair the PDK…even a bad sensor = new transmission at ~$30K if I go through the dealer.
New battery OTW, and my test pilot buddy who happened to be in town helped me pull and clean the MAF sensor today. That was fun…
.Sitting sideways in this pic, after finally getting both sides uncoupled and getting it unplugged from the sensor wire harness. What a pain in the ass.
…took me far too long to realize the big ass O-ring that seals the MAF sensor housing to the air box goes behind the little tabs on the air box side, and not between the two housings resting against/on the lip of that shoulder on the air box side of the MAF sensor housing. That was a royal pain in the ass, but easy-peasy once I figured out what I was doing wrong.
New gender non-specific liquids...tranny fluid,LoL…are also OTW. This transmission actually uses regular gear oil for the gears like a manual trans, but also uses a very specific type of ATF for the valve bodies, etc that control the dual clutches, etc.; both in separate chambers of the transmission housing. Will be doing it early at 56K miles according to the tech manuals, but gonna go ahead and drain and refill both sides of the trans to see if that helps…gonna do the simple procedure that doesn’t require PIWIS to actuate the “fill mode” after a fluid change.
Will clear all the codes after that and hope for the best; will take it in to the dealer for a PDK recalibration regardless if I can't find an independent shop with PIWIS.
If it shits the bed again, then I need to figure out where to go from here. Most likely culprit is a bad “distance sensor” on gear selector shaft #1, and again Porsche won’t replace or repair the sensor…just the entire trans. There are a few options, but will likely pull the motor and trans myself and ship, or take the trans to one of the specialty shops that repair them…likely a $2-$5K fix plus the cost of a recalibration vs. the $25-$30K cost of a new PDK transmission.

Monday sucked . My oldest was sick . Took him to town with me so he could go to the doctor. Only good part of the day is we got out before the flood waters.
At work I had 3 asshole customers. I only spoke to 3 customers…..
drive home took 30 minutes longer because flooded road 6 min from home .
Then I find a part of my new fence washed out .
Took the rest of the week off to rebuild.
Good news. Oldest is better.
Since we got more rain last night wife and I are going on a date today lol with the middle boy .
I also get to pick up my new pew pew from Moon .

Got to hang out at the river, about 70’ up.
Great track day with the local Porsche club today!
I had two students, and we did it a bit different today, so I got a ton of track time. We allowed the students to ride with instructors in all run groups, so I took one with me in the advanced group, and the other in the intermediate group.
I then rode with them in each of their respective beginner’s groups; one had a nice 718 Cayman T, the other had a brand new Dakar! Forgot to get a pic, but man, that car’s a hoot!
Switched it up for the second runs, and then let them run solo in the third session.
So if I move to Texas and I get a Porsche, does that mean I need to get an Air Force commendation medal license plate?…
Not my car, and Legion of Merit, but sure!
Here’s mine, about 3-4 steps down the ladder from that Turbo S, but a better track car IMHO; pic taken just a few minutes ago…
And my current view; replacing drive shaft U-joints and the center bearing for one of my wife’s female work friends . It’s a 2006 Toyota Tacoma with 200K miles…only one really messed up is the front joint, surprisingly:
Other than the one joint, she’s in pretty good shape for the mileage….and the truck’s OK too!

Annual inspection time. Nothing to major this time. Exhaust gaskets were bad and the prop had to come off to change a belt plus all the usual maintenance items.

Daughter sent this one last night looking north from Orland.
Took this last night at a candle light vigil for my SIL's uncle who died in a car crash minutes after leaving our house last Saturday night.
He ran/missed the stop sign at the end of this road and hit a ditch on the other side. Still awaiting more info to know exactly what happened.

My good friend LW has decided it's time to thin the herd, and he gave me first chance to own this gem.
Browning X Bolt in .223 with a Leo 3x9. I've always lusted after this shooter, not only because it's gorgeous, it is a tackdriver. Many gophers have been splattered with this beauty. There's plenty of good working .22's in the barn, this shall remain a queen.
Both Pretty Lady and I tested hot for covid this last week, she a few days later than myself. The fatigue is the worst symptom, and that's starting to go away.
Social distancing at the range is good medicine.

Loved eating the new growth on Sassafras when playing in the woods. The last two or three inches, no leaves, was sweet with a little squish crunch to it. That's been a few years ago.

The bottom of the passenger seat in my wife’s car… FML.
We drove into town with some friends tonight for dinner, and she decided to put some lotion on her hands, so she took off her rings… Yep.
One of them fell straight down into the tiny little gap on the side of the thigh support extension, and then when she reached to grab the ring, it fell down through an even tinier gap under the leather panel between the seat cushion and the thigh support extension. Wasn’t planning on a car project tonight, but here we are.
I was in the process of disassembling the rails and motor mechanisms to get to the seat pan, when I heard a little “tink, tink, tink” noise, and saw the sparkle from her ring when I shined the shop light into a little opening on the bottom of the seat. A lot of ass pain for such a simple ending.
Only cost us my patience, and three of the four plastic seat rail trim covers over the seat bolts…they have to be removed to access the seat bolts, and are a royal pain in the ass to remove without breaking.
I need a drink.

The complicated underside of seats makes it nearly impossible to mount a holster on the underside. Have one in my '12 Tacoma. Previously had one in early 2000's civic and Mazda 3. Reachable under the drivers seat in the front.The bottom of the passenger seat in my wife’s car… FML.

Yeah, have a gun safe in the center console of my truck, but I usually just appendix carry a little snub-nose .38 when I know I’m gonna drive her car. If travelling any distance in her car, I’ll throw something more capable in the arm rest.
