Regardless of what you may think of CA, the state has direct influence on your state whether you like it or not.
Absolutely correct. And few non-liberal types like it.

Whatever happened to splitting the state up?
I understand that the laws out here are ridiculous but we are still a FREE state.
and eventually progressive thinking will be the majority.
You might as well be on the titanic with it's stern pointing strait up yelling at the people in life rafts that it will be OK. Look at who's flooding into your state and who's leaving.
On the surface it feels like its about gun laws but as I read these responses it seems to go much deeper than that. If you look at the actions of our Gov you will see that we the People need to unite for our own sake. Fighting like children is going to get us nowhere, fast. Keep your state and I will keep mine, but we can share the wealth and prosperity with each other is all I'm saying. United is in our blood, or at least mine, so when I see fear starting to create separation so easily, I know we are not ready to govern ourselves yet. The time for intelligent decision making is around the corner. I know that there are a lot of people who feel like I do and eventually progressive thinking will be the majority.
I love how the majority of people who are down on CA have never even been here to begin with.

President Regan once said "You know, I can't help but notice that all the pro abortion folks have already been born."
Seems to be the same here. The people who bitch and complain the most about California, aren't even in California or do anything to make the situation better. Generally, from what I have seen, they just make it worse.
It's always easy to sit in the cheap seats and make comments. Always has been, always will.
As a non-resident of CA, I can't make YOUR state better. I'm not a resident therefore cannot vote. Apparently if so many people hate the laws that actually live there, why don't YOU vote them out.
Regardless of what you may think of CA, the state has direct influence on your state whether you like it or not. CA holds the most seats in the U.S. House by a long shot and CA has almost double the electoral votes of any other state.
Depending upon what stats you review, as many as 30 percent of Californians are gun owners. That equates to some 11.5 million gun owners in this state which is more than the entire populations of most states as only 6 other states have entire state populations that large or larger. Its not that the economy is bad, its just mismanaged by corrupt politicians. You would think that 11.5 million gun owners would be supported outside of the state but that's just not the case.
Actually, I do vote to vote them out. Right now, we are out numbered.
Not to worry though, Florida is one of those states heading the same direction unless things change as whole across the country. Just remember, eventually all those liberals in the northeast will retire. Where do you think they're headed when they retire?
Last time I was in Florida, I was in a restaurant and swore I was in Jersey or New York. Every friggin person was in there talking like "they was Guido, asking for sum canoli's".... LOL!

DING DING DING... We have a winner. A state run by a bunch of elitest liberals who are influencing how I live. Liberals supported by the FSA should have no bearing on how I live. From their lack of water, electricity and their abundance of pollution. 11.5 million gun owners are not putting and end to the crap and complain that you don't get any support. We can stand back and cheer for you but not much else. It's your vote not ours. You want help? Then do something. I give credit to those in DC and Detroit and Chicago. They are using the courts to get some of the stupid controls removed. What do we see from California? When was the last time you wrote a letter or called your state Rep?
I live in that rat hole. Sure you can pull in a good check. But is it really? Not when you get done paying your share for the FSA. Taxes, insurance, gas prices, home prices, etc... I would rather live on less but keep more of it. I loved the beach and other parts of So Cal. Be in the mountains and play in the snow in the morn and on the beach in the afternoon. Actually filled a pickup truck bed full of snow and drove it to the beach and had a snowball fight on the beach once. The bad part of it was sitting in traffic for an hour to go 20 miles to the beach. But I will stay in the mountains of East Tn. hunt and fish and relax without the rat race stress. The part that sucks is having to fight the influence of that hole on my way of life. At least there are still more of us here that are like minded and willing to fight to keep it that way. I call and write my Rep and my Senators often. As do many
others that I know. I know how they stand on the issues and that is why they get my vote. We have the same problems as any other state with the FSA. But we have kept our Government accountable to the tax payer not the FSA. So far. Stand up band together and show the rest of the country you are fighting and you may get some to help. Lay down and allow yourself to be a door mat and no one will give a rats behind.
I live in San Diego and everyone's criticisms of California are . . . dead on. These dumb liberal a-holes can't help themselves. The ridiculous gun laws here are a shining example of the wealth of stupidity running the state. When California declares bankruptcy, maybe things will get better, but if things go the way they are, things will get even worse. Maybe I'll move to Tijuana.
I love how the majority of people who are down on CA have never even been here to begin with.

Free state? You can't even buy WD40 there. California has regulated itself into bankruptcy. Every product causes cancer. Etc.
What part of Florida? I'm in Gainesville and can tell you the only accents around here are Southern. Everything here and North of us might as well still be the bible belt.
Funny. We used to say the same thing here, "Oh, that's just them idiots in the big, built up cities. Whatever, they're not like the rest of us in the state."
Unfortunately, like California, Florida is being populated more densely in the cities than the country (up north). And guess how they tend to vote?
Smh...bash California all you like, the same thing is happening in other states (Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon etc.), and sticking together is the only way to hold it back until common sense can prevail. Right now, the cities hold the voting power, not the rural areas...
No but that was an extraordinary display of misplaced anger towards an entire population. You did prove my point some what. I've never treated anybody from another state like an enemy because of their unemployment rate. Wow. Where is the intelligent conversation with actual facts that matter? For example, I can name 3 guys who I used to work with that are on unemployment right now in my state. All are from other states who came here because they wanted to work here, Florida, Illinois and Colorado. Those are just 3 off the top of my head. I work with people from EVERY state, no joke, who came here to work and live a better life. Many go home to visit but for some reason they decide to come back and plant their roots. So when you hate on Californians, you are actually just treating Americans from all over our country like s*** because of your NARROW focus on life. I am a native Californian , born and raised, and I have watch hordes of people from all over the planet inject themselves into my city and state over the years. More and more every day it seems. I have only known tolerance as I have had no choice but to share my home with MANY foreign "outsiders". The bottom line is that I'm an American who works hard to create things that are enjoyed by people all over our country and even other countries so where is the LOVE?
So we all know what happened at UCSB killed three students with a knife then shot up Isla Vista in a shooting rampage that claimed other victims. He had 410 rounds do ammo in 41 magazines California compliment 10 rounders. We just had another 4 people killed by someone with a knife. I am starting to hear idiots talk about banning knives because they kill people. All I vpcan do is shake my head. The once great state is going to hell exponentially by political thugs. My family has been in SB since 1907 and I can see the east coast transplants destroying this city and county for many years. Sad...
I am tired of the "hate" and people telling me how much it sucks here. Guess what i choose to live here because I love it. I like the weather. I like the people. I love the beach, the mountains, the lakes, rivers and desert. Guess what I have lived in the east... People are nicer here. Taxes are higher and the gun laws more restrictive. I will take it happily. I do not like the cold, humidity or the snow. I don't like smokers and obesity. I like having teeth too. but to each his own. We each have our opinions, so what. It does not good for the cause to dismiss us because we happen to live in Kalifornia
