Rifle Scopes Zero Compromise Optic update

Never shot a scope that had a tree on it, not because it didn’t like it...just never had a chance to buy one until now. I know for sure I can’t stand a Horus reticle , that is too cluttered when I last looked through one.

The mil c I looked through was nice, the mil xt was too much for me.

Kahles skmr3 was not bad, I just didn’t spend that much time behind it.

Nobody asked me, but if you don't like the Mil xt, I doubt you'd like the MPCT2 reticle either.

I own both reticles. I find myself using the mpct1 more. But if I could only own one, I’d probably get the mpct2.

The tree doesn’t start until 2mil so I’ve never had any issue with spotting misses or being too cluttered around the target.

If I know it’s a match where there’s a no dial or short time limits with multiple targets, I’ll throw the mpct2 on. Also, if you don’t like to dial, mpct2 is way to go. I dial everything unless I’m not allowed to or time isn’t enough.

I can’t speak officially for zcomp, but I’m damn near positive that most people buy the mpct2. Do they use the tree much......I’m betting they don’t. But it’s a rather have it and not need it type thing for most people.

You’ll also probably be able to find an mpct1 easier as the wait list for an mpct2 is getting substantial.

I finally got my 4-20 MPCT2 mounted up this afternoon! Haven’t got to take it out yet but did get to set up the diopter and lookout in the back yard about 100yds. Handles CA very well, FOV is much better than the K3-18, to me the turrets are on perfect, I wouldn’t say better just different from the TT. I really like everything about the MPCT2 reticle, not busy, love how the tree doesn’t start until the 2 mil mark, also like the .5 mil reference mark.
I’m reserving the right to judge the glass till I get it out on the range but I like what I see so far!
More to come
I want to thank Richard as CS for all his help in getting this to me in less than 2 weeks, awesome customer service, I will be using these guys again.
Also Dthomas, ZCO and everyone on this thread for helping me spend my money wisely!
Few pics.

That setup looks great,Did TS Customs put that rifle together for you?Richard at CS Tactical also got me my 4X20 and I'm loving this scope.

Yes Greg at Primal Rights and Travis at TS customs. I bought the little 16” 6.5x47 and had Mark at SAC cut it down and flute it, then sent it and the TBAC to Daniel at Primal Finish in TN to cerakote everything.

I finally got out yesterday to run my ZCO. First off it was 95 degrees so the mirage was pretty bad so before I even zeroed the scope I wanted to see if I could induce any CA. I am happy to report that could not, i always get CA along the edges of this white boat house roof in the pic below and even though this is a terrible cell phone pic you can clearly see there is none. The roof is at 600 yds. I tried it at 4, 12 and 20 power and could never see any CA.
There was no edge to edge fringing, just clear and crisp from edge to edge.
Parallax was easily dialed out and did not need to touch it after around 250yds, could have been less but I shot 50, 100, 250, 300 and 500 yds targets.
Turrets are absolutely hands down my most favorite I’ve ever used. TT comes in second in this department, very easy to manipulate up to my next setting while keeping on target.
MPACT2 reticle is just as good as as my favorite SKMR3, glad ZCO went with the .36 center dot. At 500 18 power was about perfect for me. Also love the locking turrets, this will come in very handy in hunting season!
Glass, I am no expert and turning 50 this year my eyes are not what they used to be. Given this and being fortunate enough to have owned lot of Alfa glass the ZCO glass (IMO) is on par with TT and Swarovski z6.
The only thing I want that this scope does not have is tool less turrets like the TT.
The bottom line is that if you are a TT owner and are on the fence the only thing your giving up is the tool less turrets. If you own a K3-18 or S&B US get em on the PX and buy the ZCO!
ZCO thanks for your amazing product. Again thanks to Richard at CS for all your help.

I have a question about ZCO parallax. If parallax doesn't have to be adjusted after 250, are targets in focus that are at different distances? For example if you have parallax set for a 400 yard target and don't adjust for a 800 yard target. is the 800 yard target in focus?

To answer your question, basically yes. However my experience would say the ZCO 420 is parallax free from about 300-350 and out. I touched on it a little in my video comparison, but I set mine somewhere between 500-800 on the markings and never touch it the whole match

I'm pretty new with the optic, but what I've noticed with the ZC420 is similar to @Covertnoob5. Inside of 200-250 I adjust and beyond 800 I'll adjust. The 200-800 range seems to be very forgiving.

Did a lot of shooting in a .22 match over the weekend. 25yds - 330 yds and anywhere in between.

I didn’t notice much parallax at all during any of the match. Inside 200 yds, I did need to use the parallax as a “focus” knob to get a clear sight picture. After 200yds, if I touched it, it was out of habit or when I was coming from under 200 to past 200.

I know it’s been floated, but I’d like to see a right side parallax knob/left windage turret.

Trying to use my right hand more for any adjustments during a cof.

Well Mr. D hooked me up with one of his super nice guys... I did have to wait, but it looks like my 5-27 shipped...

I don't even know the contact info other than the guy's cell phone. Nothing special in terms of price (I gladly paid 100% retail) or lead-time.. But, one hell of a nice guy and he worked with my type A personality well :)

Dave -- do you know Gilbert's shop info? Somebody in Texas might like his number..

PS someone needs to ban DThomas3523 for me..... he is going to cause a divorce on my end :) if I keep seeing all his cool shit.

Thanks Dave

Jim

They also spin up barrels extremely fast once they get the barrel (never takes long to get).

@trophyhunter can also get in touch pretty fast.

Finally got the opportunity to check out a ZCO 5-27. I compared it to my TT over the course of today off and on. Below are my initial impressions.

Image is fuller in the ZCO than the TT, you don’t see any tube. It’s a really large image.

FOV and DOF were the similar.

Resolution/clarity were about the same.

Contrast on the ZCO was better. The ZCO has that “pop” but without feeling unnatural.

Parallax was good a lot like the ZP5 and TT. Set it and forget it past 300 or so.

Turrets are the best locking turrets available bar none. The turrets were tactile and audible. Not heavy but not mushy. About the perfect balance for a locking turret.

At the price point I would have a hard time considering anything else.

Things that I really enjoyed about the scope was the size of the image, image contrast, and magnification ring.

I had similar findings to you. Trying not to derail a thread dedicated to ZCO I started a new thread.

Big brown santa showed up just a few minutes ago! It's currently raining (go figure) but she's mounted. Damn this thing is nice! My first tier-1 scope. Replaced a Cronus.

Thanks @bohem and @gebhardt02 for making this come together! I've finally found my perfect (to me) rifle scope.

BBS comes Thursday for me. It will also be my first top tier optic replacing an Athlon. That is sweet looking setup.

Congratulations. I’m hopefully placing my order soon. Question though. By any chance did it come with caps? Needing to know if I need to order them when I order the scope.
